Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 232: Chapter 227: Exorcising the Magic Beacon and Returning to the Territory

When Korby was hit, Zong Shen didn’t specifically deal with the beacon, and even spent a night directly in the territory.

The next morning, he and Korby took the mountain path from the north to explore the Temple of the Demon Hunter. Later, it seemed that there was no attack from the Goblin Tribe. Whether they were confused or delayed by other matters, those goblins never followed the beacon to attack Zong Shen.

However, this time, the magic beacon on Zong Shen’s body was left by Saintess Shafuri of the Calamity Raven Church. Zong Shen had taken away so much secret silver, and they had sufficient reasons to seek revenge on Zong Shen.

So, the magic beacon must be cleared by some means. Earlier strategy hints mentioned that only magic exorcism was needed to resolve it.

Zong Shen carefully thought about the shoes he took from Boswell, which seemed to have the skill of magic exorcism. However, because the size was not suitable, Zong Shen had never equipped them. He originally planned to take them to the Dwarf for modification when he had the time, but ended up being busy for days. Nevertheless, he carried those boots in the storage grid.

With a thought, a pair of small boots immediately appeared beside him.

[Exorcised Satin Boots (Blue)], the size of these shoes was only two-thirds of Zong Shen’s size, suitable for goblin merchant wear. They had a lingering smell of dried fish even after being idle for several days.

Zong Shen did not understand how the equipment wearing determination worked, so he could only forcefully shove the marked foot into the boot while observing the personal skills bar.

Finally, as he managed to squeeze his toes into the larger part of the boot, a skill finally appeared in the skill bar: [Magic Exorcism lv5].

Zong Shen decisively communicated with the skill and chose to use it, targeting himself.

A silver-white light immediately enveloped and swept across his entire body, and the raven mark on his calf surfaced, emitting a blue-white light. The next moment, it was forcibly repelled by magic exorcism, hovered in mid-air, and slowly dissipated, reverting into magic energy and disappearing.

The strategy did not deceive me; the magic exorcism skill can indeed easily remove this kind of magic beacon that can monitor positions. Ultimately, this beacon magic is merely a support type negative magic.

Normal magic exorcism can even remove more domineering control-type magic, let alone a magic beacon.

While Zong Shen was exorcising the magic beacon, Shafuri on the other side sensed it.

At that moment, she was repairing the magic array with two other church elders.

She held a dagger in her hand, slashed her fingertip, squeezed out drop by drop of blood, and dripped it into the magic array. As her blood fell, traces of blue-white cold air emerged, mixing with blue-white starry dot peculiar power.

Upon noticing the raven mark being cleared, Shafuri’s body slightly moved.

”To clear the raven mark so quickly.”

”No wonder he’s someone who has fused demon power.”

”Never fallen yet able to fuse demon power, such a thing has never been heard of.”

”Even during ancient times, those demon hunters sacrificed part of their souls as a cost, half-falling to gain the power to incarnate a demon. But this person is obviously different...”

As she squeezed out blood to provide the magic array with blood containing raven power, she thought to herself, vaguely sensing that this operation might not go smoothly.

...

On the other side, once Zong Shen had cleared the magic beacon, he put away the [Exorcised Satin Boots], and re-equipped the [Emerald Green Leg Armor] and [Swift Leather Short Boots].

Just during this brief delay, the surrounding burrow monsters started surrounding them again. Zong Shen patted Pigsy’s head, moved south for another ten minutes, and then headed northeast towards Jiang Yi’s territory.

Along the way, he saw several Lords’ territories, with almost every Lord personally leading soldiers to rely on defense buildings in their territories, striving to kill burrow monsters.

After the temporary opening of points exchange, the Lords’ enthusiasm indeed increased significantly. Initially, points were merely points on paper, but once the exchange was opened, those points became real gold, silver, and various materials. Comparing before and after, the enthusiasm was evident.

Each Lord wished they could grow extra hands; initially, they were only passively killing for survival, but now it has generally become active killing.

Of course, some Lords encountered huge burrow monster swarms or various unexpected events, entering the list of the fallen. However, overall, the casualty rate was still lower than Zong Shen’s earlier predictions.

After all, those able to survive until now have mostly adapted to the laws of the Lords. Those naive or less adaptable have been eliminated long ago. Facing the risk of death, even during the protection period of the past few days, with invincible protection of the Lord’s Courtyard, could not prevent those Lords from being eliminated.

This process is survival of the fittest, adaptation is crucial, but this process is both direct and rapid.

Now, the batch of Lords able to survive basically have seven or eight soldiers, five or six farmers, a territory with basic defense buildings, and some fundamental living materials.

Facing the Burrow Challenge, it’s basically impossible to roam around with ease like Zong Shen, but as long as luck is on your side and you’re motivated, it’s still possible to survive the Burrow Challenge.

Monsters in swarms of thousands or tens of thousands are still rare. A burrow refreshes 4 to 5 monsters every three minutes, which means 80 to 100 monsters per hour, including 15 to 20 elite-level and captain-level monsters. In a region with a thousand burrows, 80,000 to 100,000 monsters refresh every hour, among which 15,000 to 20,000 are elite-level and captain-level.

However, there are currently over seven thousand Lords in Zong Shen’s region, and if each person kills more than 15 monsters per hour, the kill quantity will exceed the refresh quantity.

Of course, this data isn’t necessarily accurate because each Lord’s situation is different—some kill many, others kill fewer. Overall, the Burrow Challenge is generally a balanced situation.

For the Lords, life is really tough right now, but it’s not necessarily a situation leading to certain death.

Zong Shen is in a good mood. Not only did he gain crucial intelligence today, but he also managed to grab quite a bit of wool. Although he didn’t lead a squad to explore the ruins, today’s harvest still made him quite satisfied.

Marie’s level has also been raised, and no matter which development path Marie chooses, Zong Shen will support her. Each additional hero in the territory reduces Zong Shen’s own burdens.

Forty to fifty minutes later, he returned to Jiang Yi’s territory.

The range within a kilometer or two around the territory has almost been completely cleared.

Jiang Yi and some of her soldiers have already gone to rest. Zong Shen’s Exploration Squad and Marie are still fighting. Marie has almost adapted to the battle and is now able to calmly use the Hunting Crossbow to attack those Burrow Monsters.

Due to authorization, Zong Shen can safely enter Jiang Yi’s territory without being attacked, and all the warriors immediately went out to greet him.

Returning from his trip took about four hours round trip, and now it’s not even three o’clock in the afternoon. Zong Shen directly entered Jiang Yi’s Lord’s Courtyard.

Her Lord’s Mansion is still at level one because it requires upgrade tokens to level up, and these tokens are not easy to acquire.

Zong Shen shouted outside the Lord’s hut, and shortly the door opened. Jiang Yi rubbed her sleepy eyes and came out wearing a white robe as sleepwear.

”You’re back!”

”How’s the situation at Odu Village?

”Is it the same as they said in the channel?”

Seeing Zong Shen, her sleepiness instantly vanished as she quickly ran to Zong Shen’s side, asking him with great concern.

Zong Shen shared everything about his infiltration into Odu Village, the actions of the Calamity Raven Church, and the internal arrangements within the village with Jiang Yi.

Upon seeing Jiang Yi’s envious eyes after learning he acquired a batch of secret silver, Zong Shen waved his hand and gave her 300 pieces of secret silver.

After all, when the Legion is established, Zong Shen still hopes for her help in managing the Legion. Giving some benefits appropriately is necessary.

When it’s time to win someone over, you should do so, and decisions about social strategies should be made flexibly based on the actual situation.

Rather than using rigid and doctrinal fixed thinking for social interactions.

Indeed, after receiving a series of benefits from Zong Shen, Jiang Yi’s gaze toward him became even more enthusiastic.

As the saying goes, accepting benefits can create obligations, and consuming favors can result in constraints. Combined with the strength Zong Shen has shown, Jiang Yi now greatly admires Zong Shen and is determined to stay close to him.

The two exchanged information about the situation at Odu Village and shared intelligence concerning the Burrow Challenge, and then Zong Shen hurriedly bid farewell.

Unexpectedly, Zong Shen plans to expand the territory in the early morning of the next day, expanding it to as large as possible. Once expansion is complete, he will directly establish the Legion.

Jiang Yi will promptly start recruiting reliable members. The Legion will recruit any Lords who meet the requirements, without any racial or national restrictions. However, given the same conditions, there will be a priority in recruiting Lords from Huaxia.

Details of the tasks will also be executed flexibly, without any rigid demands.

The two initially discussed some matters, and then Zong Shen led his team toward the territory to return.

Jiang Yi escorted them out of the territory, watched them in the distance, and then returned to the Lord’s hut.

Now, all the Burrow Monsters within a kilometer or two around her territory have been cleared, and no swarms would emerge for an hour or two. She can take the opportunity to lead the warriors to have a good rest.
