Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 233: Chapter 228: Marie’s Choice, Chief Logistics Officer

With Zong Shen’s support, Jiang Yi’s tense nerves finally relaxed a little.

The Burrow Challenge has been open for three days now, and today was her most relaxed day.

As for Medina, she wasn’t worried because that guy is very cunning and would never shift the conflict onto himself. Conflict means there could be retaliation or other unexpected events.

The reason Medina was able to make his mark wasn’t so much his outstanding abilities, but rather his pragmatic survival laws. Even if he was slapped in the face by Zong Shen, he would not get angry on the spot, never letting any conflict shift onto him.

Jiang Yi stretched, leaving a few soldiers to patrol, while letting the others rest.

She herself returned to the Lord’s Courtyard to catch up on sleep.

On the other side, Zong Shen was already on the way back with the warriors. If they fought their way back like they did in the morning, they should return to the territory before nightfall.

As for Jiang Yi, he left Communication Crystal number 7, allowing the two to communicate remotely in emergencies. Their territories weren’t far apart, and if anything really happened, Zong Shen could quickly dispatch a cavalry unit for support.

After all, compared to the Communication Crystal, Friend Private Chat often gets overlooked, whereas the Communication Crystal gives a more direct prompt.

Fighting all the way, they returned to the territory after more than three hours.

At this time, Zong Shen already had 22,717 Points, nearly eight thousand more than when he set out for Odu Village.

Calculating the time, the territory, Burrow Frontline, and the expedition warriors together killed about three to four thousand Burrow Monsters.

At least 2,500 Burrow Monsters were actively killed by the expedition team outside. Besides providing Zong Shen with a large amount of Points, it also further boosted Marie’s Level.

Marie is now at Level 19 [Experience Value: 3231/27585], and in just one day, her Level skyrocketed, equalling that of Zong Shen.

But then again, since she shared the expedition team’s Experience, the speed of this Level up is actually quite normal.

Before this, Zong Shen hadn’t tried leading a team of warriors to actively leave the territory to hunt Burrow Monsters for a whole day. He preferred exploration, but now it seems that hunting Burrow Monsters is actually quite rewarding.

A large amount of Points and Experience Value can rapidly boost Levels, and active hunting is actually faster than farming a single Burrow.

The Burrow’s refresh rate is fixed, after all. Active hunting allows for agile and flexible hunting of monster groups, which is certainly more efficient than passively waiting for refreshes.

When they returned to the territory, the sky had not yet completely darkened. The Kobolds and farmers were already preparing to stop work under Dutra and San Pang’s guidance.

Zong Shen had told them before that dusk marked the end of their workday. He really cherished this labor force population.

Kobolds and farmers are excellent labor forces. Farmers are more balanced and have no combat capabilities but can undertake all kinds of work. However, they are inherently weak and need special protection from Patrolling Warriors during work.

As for the Kobolds, they have a certain combat capability, at least much stronger than farmers. Labor-wise, they can only sturdy mining and trap-setting, but during the Burrow Challenge, they have a significant advantage. Even if Patrolling Warriors don’t arrive, they can independently retaliate against Burrow Monsters, easily handling small groups of Burrow Monsters due to their numerical advantage.

This is indeed very reassuring. In some sense, instead of calling these Kobolds labor forces, it’s better to see them as slightly weaker Warriors.

With the Kobolds and farmers returning, the city defense group can reduce the defense range and lower the patrol load, marking the end of the day’s work.

Inside and outside the territory, there are nearly two teams of Wolf Riders that can take turns patrolling and resting.

There are also several soldiers as a supplemental defense group, which can basically ensure the safety of the farmers and the territory.

Zong Shen let the expedition team’s soldiers move freely, leaving Marie to accompany him into the Lord’s Small Tower. There are three vacant rooms on the second floor, and he let Marie choose one for herself.

Then they went down together to the hall on the first floor and sat at the long table on the first floor.

Now Zong Shen wanted to ask Marie her own thoughts about which hero path she wanted to take.

Even though Marie’s talent belongs to the logistics type hero, Zong Shen still decided to give her the opportunity to choose her own path.

”Marie.”

Zong Shen suddenly called out.

At this moment, Marie was slightly distracted, but hearing Zong Shen’s call, she quickly came back to her senses and responded.

”Lord... do you need something?”

Zong Shen showed a warm smile on his face.

”You fought with the team for a whole day today. What do you think about our team?”

”And regarding the path you want to take in the future, if you have any thoughts, you can also tell me.

”Logistics or combat, choose the path you like.”

”Don’t have any reservations, while now you can speak your mind freely.”

Marie listened intently to Zong Shen’s words, as she was also contemplating this question.

Whether to fight and battle like a Warrior or to be responsible for logistics in the territory.

Either role can shine and contribute in the territory.

No matter what, Marie’s perception of herself is quite clear. For the territory to develop healthily and normally, it not only requires brave warriors

but also logistics heroes who focus on every aspect of the territory, taking a leading guiding role. This is the only way to effectively improve the development efficiency of the territory.

Thinking about this, Marie boldly raised her head and stared straight at Zong Shen with her clear big eyes.

”My lord, our team is very strong and fights bravely.”

”Being by their side makes me feel secure and especially safe.”

”With such warriors protecting the territory, I will be at ease.”

”So I’ve decided to take the logistics route, ensuring the territory’s foundation, making it the most solid backing and home for everyone.”

Marie spoke firmly, without a hint of hesitation in her tone, clearly a decision made after careful consideration.

Hearing Marie’s words, Zong Shen nodded with some satisfaction. If she were to take the battle route, it would be somewhat unsuitable. Although Zong Shen could easily arm her with high-level equipment and skills with good attributes, it would ultimately not match those who have natural combat talent and heroic-level capabilities.

”Very well, do you have any ideas about distributing your attributes?”

Zong Shen followed her thought process, guiding her step by step.

After joining the Lord’s Influence, heroic-level figures can see their own attribute panel.

This is clearly a handiwork of the Lord System, subtly allowing indigenous heroes to accept it.

Therefore, Marie already understands all about attribute distribution, skills, and attributes.

She nodded seriously upon hearing this, indicating she had considered this question as well.

”I currently have 18 attribute points to allocate, and I plan to add 11 points to Charm, making it 33 points, and allocate the remaining 7 points to Intelligence, increasing the Intelligence Attribute to 24 points.”

”Because I’ve added to the Intelligence Attribute, I now have 25 skill points to allocate.”

”First, I’ll add 11 skill points to [Command], so my Command Limit can reach 133 points.”

”Among the remaining 14 skill points, I’ll add 6 points to [Item Management], raising the Storage Grid limit to 56 grids, sufficient for storing a large amount of resources. Finally, I’ll allocate all 8 points to [Rescue], increasing the survival rate of the territory’s subjects.”

Her arrangement made Zong Shen nod repeatedly; this is a skill allocation with a clear Wisdom Charm Stream tendency, and the choice of Lord Skills is very consistent with logistics settings.

Both [Command] and [Rescue] and [Item Management] are extremely practical passive buffs.

”Very good, you just follow this system to allocate points. From now on, you will be the chief logistics officer of our territory.”

”All farmers and patrolling warriors in the territory will be under your command.”

”Except for the New Year’s Eve, I will grant you the rights to build and migrate the territory’s buildings.”

”I allow you to flexibly adjust the buildings within the territory based on the situation.”

Zong Shen stood up and formally announced.

The permissions granted to Marie are undeniably substantial.

After all, Marie’s arrival fills the vacancy for logistics heroes in the territory.

Sadly, Marie’s Talent is only at the green Good Level. If she could elevate her Talent to excellent or rare, her Basic Attributes could still improve a bit more.

For the enhancement of a heroic-level figure’s Talent, souls have no use; specific enhancement items are needed to improve a hero’s Talent.

Otherwise, Zong Shen would have definitely used souls to first elevate Marie’s Talent before saying more, and now he still has a stock of souls in hand.

Marie, having received Zong Shen’s permission and appointment, blushed slightly with excitement.

She quickly stood up, bowing to Zong Shen in salute.

”My lord, Marie will certainly exert her utmost efforts to manage the territory, ensuring you are free of worries.”

This is her first formal expression of loyalty since joining.

[Due to your appreciation and trust]

[Hero Marie’s Loyalty increased by 10 points, current Loyalty at 95]

Loyalty immediately increased by 10 points, becoming 95 points, short of the full value by 5 points.

The speed at which this affinity increased is much faster than Wenresa.

”Haha, follow me!”

In high spirits, Zong Shen gently patted Marie’s soft shoulder, indicating she should follow him.

He led the way and walked straight out of the Lord’s Small Tower, arriving at the entrance of the Lord’s Courtyard, taking out the Communication Crystal.
