Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 238: Chapter 231: Reform Plans, Hunting Upgraded

Rome was not built in a day and requires a great deal of meticulous effort to manage.

At least for now, Zong Shen needs to firmly grasp the general direction and gradually lay the foundation for future formalized development step by step.

So, the matters Zong Shen entrusted to Marie also present an important opportunity for these farmers.

If they can become chefs or pharmacists, it would be a self-advancement for these farmers; more importantly, they can acquire a more valuable skill through this.

Marie solemnly accepted these books, already having a rough idea of Zong Shen’s expected objectives in her heart.

Since joining the territory, she deeply understood the gaps between the territory and the village, and with a goal in mind, she should forge ahead. At the same time, she indeed needs to constantly enrich herself through reading to improve her capabilities.

After Zong Shen finished giving instructions, San Pang stood up and began distributing food. In addition to roast meat, each person also received half an apple, half a boiled egg, and some boiled vegetables, most of which were previously purchased from Sitanos Village by Zong Shen.

Everyone received the same food, with the frontline food being delivered by Korby and Wolf Rider Squad One.

This distribution system seems fair, but in reality, it represents the greatest unfairness.

Each person’s contributions in the territory are different, but they enjoy the same food. However, Zong Shen had no choice, as it’s impossible to further divide food into numerous categories.

Both methods in the long run are one of the reasons for contradictions, hence the need to get the territory on track as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, buildings like the cold storage and the bathhouse couldn’t be constructed due to a lack of runes with the corresponding attributes. These structures are highly practical civil buildings.

The cold storage can extend the preservation time of fresh ingredients, and the bathhouse can solve the current washing problems of the subjects. Thinking of this, Zong Shen again reminded Marie to start searching for various reasonably priced rune materials in the [Market] starting tomorrow.

As for how to measure the purchase price, she needs to observe and summarize the market trends herself to make judgments, as the market is both the best teacher and the best appraiser.

After finishing all the instructions, Zong Shen also ate his portion of food. Although simply prepared, the food was somewhat bland, but Zong Shen was not picky and only needed to fill his stomach.

It was already nighttime, but Zong Shen didn’t plan to waste it. After the exploration squad warriors rested for a while, he planned to start night hunting, clearing Burrow Monsters around the territory and the Burrow Frontline, while leveling up to accumulate points, and allowing Favide to gather slaughter value, while he extracted some strength.

All day long, he focused on upgrading Marie, not giving much attention to Favide and himself.

But even so, they had accumulated quite a bit, and after another night of killing, they could almost fill up.

By then, Zong Shen could increase his strength by 1 point, and Favide could directly use 1000 points of slaughter value to summon a level 35 two-headed hellhound.

Therefore, by killing, they truly gained, and the more they killed, the stronger they became.

Unfortunately, kills by the squad don’t count toward them; otherwise, their efficiency would be many times faster.

After resting for an hour, Zong Shen began to gather the warriors of the exploration squad.

At the same time, to increase the hunting squad, he also called upon Wolf Rider Squad One, which usually served as a mobile squad, sometimes patrolling the territory, sometimes supporting the frontline, and sometimes being dispatched by him for exploration.

They are the kind of troop that runs wherever needed, while the remaining 21 wolf cavalry take turns patrolling the territory. The third squad is three wolf cavalry short of being fully formed, and having the second and third squads work in rotation was a decent configuration.

After all, once a wolf cavalry unit forms a 12-man squad, it can activate team skills, significantly boosting its combat capability compared to when it’s a scattering force.

With everyone assembled, Zong Shen led the two squads to officially set out.

Starting from the surrounding area of the territory, and with the territory as the center point, they began hunting Burrow Monsters in circles starting from one kilometer away from the territory.

They gradually cleared within a three-kilometer radius of the territory, exterminating over a thousand monsters in total. With the assistance of Wolf Rider Squad One, the hunting efficiency this time was higher than ever before.

During this time, Zong Shen killed numerous Burrow Monsters, many of which were elite Sharp-toothed Worms.

He could gain 1 extraction point for killing a whiteboard monster and 5 points for an elite monster, while captain-level monsters provide 25 points. Extraction values increase fivefold with each tier advancement.

Captain-level Gargoyles are flying monsters, which made them tough for Zong Shen, since his attack style is mainly melee.

That is an undisguised extraction value!

On the other hand, Favide’s slaughter charging was accumulating rapidly, and the kills from daytime combined with tonight’s hunt already brought his slaughter points to over 600, with just over 300 to reach the cap.

With some more effort tonight, he should reach 1000 slaughter points and summon the two-headed hellhound.

As for Zong Shen, he upgraded to level 20.

With previously unassigned points, he now had 2 points available for allocation in attributes and 2 points for skills.

The higher the level, the more experience value is needed for leveling up; the speed of leveling up will only get slower, not faster.

Zong Shen added 1 attribute point to intelligence, increasing it to 30 points, and correspondingly, the available skill points increased to 3.

He then used the remaining 1 point to increase his strength to 68 points, raising his life value limit to 1163 points and slightly increasing his attack damage.

From the 3 skill points available for allocation, he added 2 points to [Prisoner Management] and 1 point to [Item Management].

After activating [Prisoner Management], he discovered this passive skill had more to it; every level provides 5 prisoner storage slots through the Lord System, which could store prisoners just like a storage grid.

In certain situations, this function can indeed yield unexpected benefits.

However, previously, this skill was something that Zong Shen had consistently overlooked.

After finishing the upgrades and allocating attribute and skill points, Zong Shen became slightly more powerful than before.

Compared to when he first landed, now he could effortlessly handle dozens of his former self even without entering the Demon State, marking a clear improvement in strength.

The daily accumulation made it rather evident that Zong Shen was progressing and changing.

Once everyone had dealt with the Burrow Monsters around the territory, they moved toward the Burrow Frontline. Today at noon, level four intensity Burrow Monsters had already started to appear.

The difficulty of killing them is somewhat higher than before, primarily due to the mix of various-intensity Burrow Monsters, making it uncomfortable.

It’s challenging to find a stable rhythm for continuously killing monsters; a zombie might die in two strikes, but the next one with higher intensity might require three strikes to be dealt with.

Nevertheless, this couldn’t prevent Zong Shen and his team’s hunting actions from proceeding.

They advanced all the way to the Burrow Frontline.

After reinforcing defenses and specializing the warrior groups, the Burrow Frontline became significantly more stable than before.

The Burrow Frontline now boasts three Tier One Arrow Towers and one Tier Two Arrow Tower.

The placement of these defense buildings greatly enhanced the defense capabilities of the frontline positions.

Even the gargoyles can be easily killed with the gathered output from many remote soldiers.

If the Burrow doesn’t undergo any changes in the coming days, this place will stand firm like a rock.
