Chapter 208: Chapter 208: Kobold Hero, Entire Tribe Accepted

Zong Shen routinely offered encouragement. This was the first time he encountered a group seeking refuge with family in tow.

He wondered how many tribe members remained in this Kobold tribe and whether the Kobold Chief was a Heroic-level unit, capable of commanding how many Kobolds.

After Zong Shen chose ”Accept” to express his stance, this group of Kobolds fully submitted to him. How things would develop afterward depended on Zong Shen’s careful management.

He reached out to help the kneeling Kobold Chief to his feet. This fellow was extraordinarily strong; although not big, his arms were covered with bulging muscles, making him quite robust for his size.

”Stand up; from now on, we are on the same side. Food in the territory will be uniformly distributed, and there’s no need for you to hunt anymore. Without orders, privately hunting any creatures is prohibited.”

Zong Shen supported him and casually instructed, and the Kobold Chief Dutra nodded repeatedly.

”Rest assured, we are not crude and savage creatures.”

”As long as you fulfill your promise, we will loyally serve you!”

Dutra reiterated. As the chieftain, he was quite concerned about his tribe’s future treatment.

Long ago, Kobolds once served the Giant Dragons, known as Dragon Servants. There’s even a thin Dragon Bloodline within them.

Besides ordinary Kobolds, there are more formidable Dragon-Body Kobolds, boasting strong bodies and dragon-like sturdy tails.

Thus, the wise and strong among the Kobolds often master Human Common Language, Dragon Language, and Kobold Language.

They have their divine spirit belief, known as Kurtumak, also known as the God of Dogmen. It uses a dwarf’s head as an evil emblem. Legend says Kurtumak taught the Kobolds the art of mining.

Historically on this continent, there have been instances of Kobolds seeking refuge with or joining the human camp.

However, only the most excellent of lords could build a great and equal territory across racial differences.

Currently, the Kobold Chief Dutra had no choice. The fact that the other party was able to destroy the Spider Web Monster Lord Leopold showcased their strength.

Nobody knew the prowess of the Spider Web Monster better than him.

He was well aware of the size of the Spider Web Monster Race. To eliminate the Spider Web Monster Lord and über-throught half of the Spider Web Monster Race was a true testament of ability.

Agreeing would win the other party’s favor; refusing would surely lead to forceful measures. This would not only lose the chance to gain an equal status but also force them into becoming Mine Slaves. This was the gap created by absolute power, leaving the Kobold Chief with no other choice.

Zong Shen could roughly guess Dutra’s thoughts, so he didn’t say much but silently checked his attributes.

(A Kobold Hero of excellent level talent is the chief of this Kobold tribe)

Zong Shen took a brief look. This fellow had his [Command] already raised to level 12, and he possessed a special piece of equipment, the [Dogman Dominator Token (Purple)], which increased the Kobold-specific Command Value by 200 points. No wonder his Command Value was intimidatingly high.

”Dutra, what was the maximum number of people in your tribe?”

”Did you command them all by yourself?”

Zong Shen suddenly asked out of curiosity.

Dutra raised his head to look at Zong Shen, thought seriously for a moment, and then replied.

”My lord, at its peak, the tribe had about 737 members. Besides me, there were three Great Kobold Prophets who jointly commanded the entire tribe.”

”But all three Great Prophets were killed by the Spider Web Monster Lord.”

”Tribe members also suffered heavy casualties, and some were lost. Now there are 238 tribe members within the tribe, including 57 Dogman Stone Throwers, 16 Dogman Prophets, and 165 Dogman Warriors.”

Dutra reported earnestly.

Zong Shen nodded, indicating he understood. He took out the wooden bucket filled with Moon God Spring Water and the crystal cup he had just retrieved from the mine’s secret chamber, wiped the cup slightly, and poured a cup of Moon God Spring Water, handing it to Dutra for him to drink to quickly recover from his injuries.

Dutra was flattered to receive the Moon God Spring Water, the crystal cup’s Moon God Spring Water shimmered with silvery-white light, like it was filled with a cup of moonlight, making its extraordinary nature evident at first glance.

”My lord... What kind of water is this, resembling moonlight with such powerful vitality?”

Zong Shen smiled slightly, casually explaining.

”This is Moon God Spring Water, which evolved from the ancient Moon Well of the Dark Night Elf Race after merging with a Heroic Soul, capable of healing your injuries.”

”Drink up, then take me to your tribe, prepare the tribe members, and also submit the ores you collected earlier. Then we will set off back to the territory.”

Hearing Zong Shen’s words, Dutra nodded solemnly, understanding the preciousness of the Moon God Spring Water, and took the crystal cup, drinking it all in one go.

His injuries were all internal. Two days ago in battle, he was swept away by Leopold wielding the Calamity Battle Spear, due to lack of armor, his internal organs were impacted, and the tribe lacked medical supplies, so he could only rely on rest for self-healing.

The injuries to his internal organs caused him constant pain, even impairing his ability to walk, requiring support from tribe members.

But as long as it wasn’t a broken limb or disability, for Zong Shen, it wasn’t a big problem.

The effect of the Moon God Spring was excellent. Just after drinking, Dutra felt the abdominal pain alleviated, not completely healed but smoothing enough to barely walk on his own.

”Thank you for your generosity, my lord. This spring water is precious, and your generosity is admirable.”

”Now, please come with me, my lord. Over the years, we’ve collected quite some precious ores, all piled up on the open space in the refining workshop.”

With the support of his tribe members, Dutra took the initiative to lead the way, taking Zong Shen towards the end of the great mine tunnel where the refining workshop was located.

The stench here was more pronounced, like entering a sheep pen, with a strong gamey smell assaulting the nose.

These guys must not have a habit of bathing... because the smell was overwhelmingly strong.

Arriving at the refining workshop, this was a large building, back against the rock wall at the end of the great mine tunnel.

It had now become the kobolds’ stronghold. They used wood and mud to build triangular huts as daily residences.

The entire refining workshop was almost in ruins, the exterior mottled, various stains covering the workshop walls, and most of the refining equipment inside had been overturned, scattered outside the workshop, covered in mud and marks of decay.

On the side of the open space were uneaten Spider Web Monster carcasses. Dogmen are not picky eaters, although the Spider Web Monster’s meat and blood are yellow-green, these guys still eat heartily.

They eat it raw, dividing the Spider Web Monster carcasses into pieces, giving a primitive feeling of eating raw meat and drinking blood.

As Dutra led Zong Shen to approach, all the kobolds were a bit flustered.

These guys are cunning, introverted, hardworking, and despite their ugly appearance, they are quite intelligent.

Dutra stood outside the refining workshop, waving his hand.

”Wow, wow wow!”

”Chirp chirp chirp!”

He began to shout in the peculiar Dogman Language. As the chieftain of the Dogman Tribe, he held high authority, causing the kobolds to immediately gather on the open ground outside the workshop.

Many kobolds had obvious injuries, limping as they walked, and some were already in a state of disability, missing limbs.

These kobolds were covered with fine scales all over, without obvious gender characteristics, making it impossible to distinguish their sex.

Moreover, kobolds were not viviparous mammals but oviparous cold-blooded animals, fundamentally different from humans.

Zong Shen also took the opportunity to release the few kobolds he had encountered earlier in the mine tunnel, letting them return to the Dogman Tribe’s ranks.

Dogman Chieftain Dutra spoke a few more ”wow wow wows,” apparently explaining to the tribe members.

After hearing Dutra’s words, the kobolds began to discuss intensely.

The tone of the Dogman Language resembled the barking of small dogs.

Among this group of kobolds, there were clearly differing opinions about joining Zong Shen’s territory.

However, this was not something Zong Shen needed to worry about. It was entirely up to Dutra to handle it. For alien creatures like kobolds, it’s most suitable to let alien heroes manage them.

It was not until over ten minutes later that the kobolds came to a unified opinion, kneeling on the ground with Dutra, prostrating their bodies to express submission to Zong Shen.

This guy has a high Dogman Command Value, so upon returning to the territory, the 14 kobolds in the territory could be transferred under Dutra’s command, saving 14 Command Values to host combat units.

”Since you have reached a consensus internally, I now give you 20 minutes to get ready, bring what items you need, don’t take the Spider Web Monster meat with you. There is food in the territory, and we raise cattle and sheep.”

”Now, Dutra, take me to where you store the ores.”

”These ores are just collectibles for you, but they are very useful for the development of the territory.”

Zong Shen said earnestly; since the kobolds were temporarily joining the camp, it was reasonable to take the ores they regularly collected.

Collecting ores was merely a hobby for the kobolds.
