Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 207: Chapter 207: The Kobold Chieftain Requests to Join Your Territory!

After learning the Iron Wall skill, Zong Shen studied the magic crystal and the cooking manual.

[Intermediate Illusion Magic Crystal (Blue)]

[Quality: Excellent Level]

[Effect: Activate the crystal to construct an intermediate illusion scene with intention]

[Usage Time: 0/120 (hours)]

[Upon reaching maximum usage time, the magic crystal will automatically shatter]

(A crystal containing illusion magic, suitable for concealing a mine entrance, though you could imagine a large crowd of alluring dancers with it as well)

[Books: Cooking Manual]

[Strength Requirement: 12]

[Wisdom Requirement: 6]

[Reading Time: 300 hours (Every 30 hours of reading will master 4 ordinary recipes, 2 refined level recipes, 1 excellent level recipe, read for 150 hours to additionally master 1 rare level recipe)]

[Each person can only master a corresponding recipe once through reading]

(An advanced cooking book, a must-have for chefs)

After checking the attributes of these two items, Zong Shen stored them carefully. The magic crystal could be used to conceal the traces of the mine’s existence, reducing the risk of unexpected incidents.

As for the ”Cooking Manual,” it can be stored as a book reserve, to cultivate a professional chef for the territory in the future.

After handling all the rewards of the Silver Treasure Chest, Zong Shen disassembled the chest and, confirming there were no overlooked items in the entire secret room, finally left the secret room.

It’s almost four o’clock in the afternoon now, and he must quickly explore the left mining area, returning to the territory before dark to carry out a new round of construction and deployment; he also needs rest to speed up the recovery of his wounds.

With the current injury under his ribs, he cannot exert his full strength, severely affecting his exploration plans for the next day or two.

Recovering from the injury as soon as possible will allow everything to return to normal quickly.

In exploration, Zong Shen has a natural advantage that cannot be replaced by a hero.

Because he possesses the Guide Module, which can more timely and flexibly adjust plans and obtain maximum benefits, even in the face of some sudden changes, he can cope calmly.

It’s not so convenient to let heroes go out for exploration. Even if Zong Shen makes a strategy in advance, he cannot guarantee that things will not change, as the external situation is really ever-changing.

Having handled everything in the mine secret room, Zong Shen left the secret room directly, preparing to go with the soldiers to the refining workshop to search for traces of the Dogman Tribe.

The Dogmen have been devastatingly hunted by the Spider Web Monsters, and now Zong Shen’s task is to take in the scattered Dogmen, gathering as many as possible. Developing the mine demands as much labor as possible; just this mining area alone requires at least several hundred miners, and to activate all four mining areas, two to three thousand workers are needed.

This will be a vast human reserve project that needs early planning.

Returning to the large mine passage on the left mining area and heading forward to the end of the large mine passage.

Under the light of several Magic Power Flashlights, some ruins and damaged mining magic energy puppets begin to appear ahead, and a broken mine rail track. Through these remnants, one can see some prosperity of the mine in those days.

Continuing forward, the ruins become more frequent along the way, with many damaged and decayed magic energy puppet remains lying on both sides, all covered with thick mud, with only a rough shape visible.

The deeper into the large mine passage, the more pungent the stench becomes.

There is both the smell of excrement and the odor of rotting flesh, along with a dull, sour rancid smell.

Piles of corpses like mountains start appearing on both sides of the passage, including many Spider Web Monsters’ corpses, indicating the longstanding conflict between the Dogmen and the Spider Web Monsters in the mine.

Though the Dogmen are generally weak, when gathered, they can still form a certain combat force.

Having advanced several hundred meters more, the shadow of the refining workshop can finally be seen in the light’s end.

Some Dogmen noticed Zong Shen too, beginning to shout chaotically, gathering in groups, among them some Dogman Prophets and Casters holding wooden staffs.

They gathered in numbers over a hundred, starting to surge towards Zong Shen and his team. This was their last home, where most surviving Dogmen stayed, with a part lost in the mine.

Zong Shen simply stood still, waiting for them to approach instead of advancing.

This group of Dogmen came forward to confront Zong Shen.

However, seeing a group of humans coming, the tense atmosphere relieved considerably.

Though humans are not entirely a good sign for them, they’re far better than those Spider Web Monsters.

At least, humans’ menus do not include Dogmen.

The Spider Web Monsters are different; they eat Dogmen at every hunt, covering tens of kilometers and capturing many animals, with Dogmen making up about 20%.

Of course, Dogmen also eat the flesh of Spider Web Monsters, but due to unequal combat power, the exchange ratio of their battles is also unequal.

Several Dogman Prophets stepped forward cautiously watching Zong Shen.

”Ahead... is our territory...”

”Please stop!”

The tone was somewhat tough, perhaps due to having just experienced a genocidal battle, these fellows were quite resistant to Zong Shen’s arrival.

Zong Shen just smiled slightly upon hearing this, waving gently, the warriors behind him began to advance.

Dragonized Spear and Shield Warriors lined up in front with giant shields, holding long spears aimed forward, pressing on.

The Dogmen, afraid, screamed in chaos, trying to retreat in panic, not even starting a fight.

Zong Shen waved his hand again, and all the warriors stopped. Killing and cutting were both within Zong Shen’s thoughts, and there would be a response at his command. This is authority.

”Have your chieftain come to see me.”

”Otherwise, I will flatten your territory.”

Zong Shen spoke bluntly, without hiding his intentions in the slightest.

For any alien race, threats work much better than soft approaches, and they are much more direct.

He wouldn’t talk these kobolds out of it, that would be a pointless task.

Tricking them back to his territory under fear and confusion was the most important thing.

After Zong Shen put forward his demand to see their chieftain, a few kobold prophets hesitated.

Because their chieftain was severely injured in the previous battle. Although not life-threatening, he had completely lost his combat ability until his injuries healed.

Zong Shen wouldn’t give them the chance to hesitate. His arm was raised again, a sign of issuing a command, and the kobolds all felt an impending sense of doom.

”Sir, please be patient...”

At this moment, a clear voice emerged, and the tone was very similar to that of a human.

The kobold team began to spontaneously part to both sides, as a larger kobold, carrying a nail-head hammer on its back, walked out with support.

It was a size larger in height and build than an average kobold.

Its face, covered in fine scales, was painted with some patterns in oil, looking very primitive.

”Sir, I am the chieftain here.”

”You can speak to me directly.”

It appeared somewhat weak, requiring two kobolds to help it stand, but its eyes still shone brightly. Clearly, this guy was not simple; even if kobolds were weak, being able to command a tribe meant it was strong among them.

”My territory needs manpower, I need you to join us.”

”Let us build a great and equal territory together.”

”As long as you work every day, there will be no risk to your life. I will grant you the same rights and equal treatment as humans, and my warriors and I will ensure your safety.”

”What I need you to do is very simple—just mining. As I understand, mining is one of your hobbies.”

Zong Shen spoke directly with a tone that was blunt yet carried an inexplicable sincerity.

The kobold chieftain pondered, unable to determine the truth in Zong Shen’s words, whether he truly wanted them to become subjects with equal status or become slaves without status and dignity.

”How can I believe your words?”

”You need to do something to prove the credibility of your words.”

”Our tribe has recently encountered a great trouble; in the mines, a group of Spider Web Monsters is frantically hunting us, attempting some evil ritual.”

”If you can...”

Before the kobold chieftain could finish, Zong Shen flipped his hand and pulled out the Calamity Battle Spear, grabbing it single-handedly and thrusting it before him.

After the addition of Tiroka’s Bear Armor, he could hold the heavy battle spear with one hand.

Sure enough, the moment the battle spear appeared, the kobold chieftain was stunned.

”This... this is Leopold’s battle spear!”

”Did you... did you kill that guy?”

It said in utter shock, the Spider Web Monster Lord Leopold was an absolute nightmare to these kobolds!

Moreover, it was the overlord of this mining area, its strength far surpassing the kobolds.

Zong Shen nodded slightly, gently nodding his head.

”The Spider Web Monster race has been half defeated by me and is now in complete disarray.”

”The three Spider Web Monster Queens and the Spider Web Monster Lord have all been eliminated by me.”

Upon hearing Zong Shen’s words and seeing that gigantic standing battle spear, the kobold chieftain’s eyes changed instantly.

At that moment, it made a decision, pushing away the kobolds supporting it.

It wobbled as it knelt on one knee in front of Zong Shen.

”Great Lord, my tribe and I will pledge our allegiance to you!”

”Please treat us kindly!”

[Dogman Chief Dutra requests to join your territory]

[Accept] [Decline]

Seeing the prompt ahead, Zong Shen nodded with satisfaction and chose to accept.

”Very well, your decision is wise!”

”Follow me, and you shall all gain glory!”
