Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 245: Chapter 235: Expansion Underway, Attack of the Strange Birds

With his current strength, Zong Shen doesn’t need to worry about anything around him except for commander-level monsters.

Of course, if the expansion of the territory does attract commander-level monsters, then Zong Shen would be rather pleased, as each one means a substantial reward.

Moreover, the lairs or ruins occupied by commander-level monsters often contain treasure chests or other gains.

For Zong Shen, expanding his level 3 territory still poses no difficulty.

This wave of assault consisted of some grassland porcupines and a dozen or so horse bandits. Upon realizing the target was horse bandits, Zong Shen decisively used Lord’s Authority to shut down all defense towers and also ordered the Ancient Guardian to cease its attacks.

These horse bandits rode grassland horses of varying colors, wielding curved sabers in their hands. They galloped from the west side of the territory, and Zong Shen led his men out to confront them.

He personally led the troops to deal with these horse bandits. Jokingly, these guys seemed to have come to deliver horses, and if the arrow towers and the Ancient Guardian dealt with them, it would be a scene of complete man and horse slaughter.

”Everyone, just deal with the bandits, don’t harm the horses!”

Zong Shen instructed, noting that the level of these horse bandits was not high. The leader was a captain-level bandit, about the same level as Fierce Bandit Calier, probably patrolling near the territory and attracted by the expansion.

These horse bandits appeared fierce, with wine pouches hanging at their waists. They mostly had scarred faces or bristly beards, their faces full of rough flesh, looking well-nourished and never lacking meat and wine.

The dragonized spear and shield warriors raised their shields, tilting their spears forward, while the wolf cavalry and Luna utilized their mounts’ mobility to maneuver and flanked from both wings.

The mages began chanting, and Wenresa raised her longbow, eyes narrowed as she locked onto a target, then swiftly drew an arrow, pulling the bow and releasing it in one fluid motion.

A sharp arrow shot out, accurately hitting a horse bandit’s eye, the force embedding it halfway through, nearly piercing the back of the bandit’s head.

This strike was undoubtedly a fatal blow, as a huge amount of damage emerged from this bandit’s head. In the next moment, he fell from his horse and was trampled by the others galloping past.

The grass in that area was immediately stained red with blood. After the newbie stage ended, the battles became much more brutal and bloody.

Zong Shen directly wielded the Calamity Battle Spear like a long staff, sweeping it across, knocking three or four horse bandits off their steeds.

The remaining horse bandits were subjected to targeted attacks by arrows and magic, and they were completely wiped out before even reaching the city gate.

The grassland porcupines attracted from the other side were also intercepted by Wolf Rider Squad Two. These grassland porcupines could shoot back spines by contracting their muscles, which counted as a type of long-range attack by a wild beast.

Each porcupine was about the size of a wolfdog, covered in spines.

If you see a bald porcupine on the prairie, don’t be surprised; it merely shot all its spines. Moreover, porcupine meat is very tender, offering a unique flavor.

Zong Shen had tried roasted porcupine meat once before; it’s much tastier than roasted wolf meat, with juices locked in the flesh and no gamey taste, making it one of the better tasting meats among prairie beasts.

This territory expansion task was not so much a challenge as it was a reward for Zong Shen.

The horse bandits were wiped out, and the porcupines were eliminated too. Zong Shen had the wolf cavalry collect the horse bandits’ weapons and valuables, dragging the bodies away to be buried several kilometers away from the territory.

Sixteen grassland horses remained, all of which Zong Shen brought back to the territory, further increasing the mount reserves.

As for the porcupines, they were all brought back to the territory, skinned and sectioned for their delicious meat, enough for a meal tonight to supplement the territory’s food supply.

Over two hundred kobolds, seventy to eighty warriors, and fifty to sixty farmers consumed a considerable amount of food daily, which is why Zong Shen was committed to reform, as relying solely on a big pot rice system had no future.

Everyone eating from the big pot rice system needed to work as instructed, which actually killed any production enthusiasm.

After dealing with this wave of enemies, Zong Shen returned to the small courtyard entrance, ready to begin the next level of territory expansion.

[Territory: Level 3]

[City Lord’s Mansion: Level 2]

[Current expansion range: a radius of 4000 meters, complete the land expansion task to succeed]

[Click to start expansion]

The level 4 territory expansion task will attract 30 random enemies from a 20-kilometer radius.

It’s known that the renowned Chen Rui still maintains a level 4 territory to this day.

Perhaps that guy had some adventures, or maybe he’s also ’stuck at this level,’ but if Zong Shen gets serious, he’s truly not afraid of anyone, as he is determined to claim the top spot.

Decisively reopening the defense towers and reactivating the Ancient Guardian’s attacks, Zong Shen once again clicked to start the expansion. Once he expands to level 4, his territory will grow into a circular area with an 8-kilometer diameter, covering approximately 50.4 square kilometers.

This territory size is enough for most Lords, but Zong Shen is still not satisfied; he insists on advancing another two or three levels at least.
