Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 224: Chapter 219: Why Not Join Me?

Facing this scale of Burrow Monster Swarm, Jiang Yi has no battlefield advantage even with the defense of her territory. For her, this is a very severe challenge.

From the beginning of the Burrow Challenge, Jiang Yi remained in a state of active kills, clearing quite a number of nearby Burrow Monsters. It is precisely because of this that the monster density nearby has not been high.

The most is just a monster swarm of one or two hundred, mostly dozens to hundreds.

There are still seven or eight thousand Lords in the area that can attract Burrow Monsters. As long as the daily cleaning is diligent, normally there wouldn’t be super high-density monster swarms nearby.

But unexpectedly, a swarm of such a large scale suddenly appeared near the territory.

Her gaze instinctively turned towards Medina. If his soldiers helped, they could easily wipe out this group of monsters...

Medina was still watching, looking at the swarm approaching gradually from a kilometer away, with a mysterious smile on his face.

He seemed to have already seen the scene where the monster swarm pressed near, and Jiang Yi, unable to resist, could only beg to join his legion for shelter. This gave him a kind of inexplicable pleasure.

Medina is a man with ambitions, and a very fortunate one at that, otherwise, he wouldn’t have immediately formed a [Legion] to start recruiting the surrounding Lords.

As the leader of the legion, the bigger the legion grows, the more benefits it will bring him. Once he accumulates enough strength, he can initiate group actions to occupy an entire village or conquer some large ruins.

Being the leader, he is also the strongest one in the legion, which allows him to easily gain the most benefits.

Commanding Indigenous People and recruited warriors has given him little pleasure; only commanding other Lords can give him a sense of achievement. After all, the relationships between Lords are theoretically equal, and commanding others’ command is the real way of the king.

Jiang Yi grabbed the Long Saber with both hands, her palms full of sweat. This swarm of Burrow Monsters was attracted by Jiang Yi’s territory, and their target was clear. In no time, they would be within a few hundred meters of the territory.

The Arrow Tower behind began to launch attacks, with black Sharp Arrows flying out, causing a slight pause in a few Burrow Monsters. Immediately following, these monsters were cohesive together by other monsters behind them and continued to advance.

It was like causing some insignificant ripples within the tide, utterly unable to stop their progress.

Everyone could hear the sound of the Burrow Monster Swarm rubbing against the ground as they advanced.

Jiang Yi was also in inner conflict; all her warriors were gathered by her side, ready for battle. Everyone’s expression was very serious, looking at the overwhelming Burrow Monster group, feeling an impending sense of pressure like a storm.

”Haha, dear Jiang, why not...”

Medina began again, intending to gradually break down Jiang Yi’s psychological defenses.

He had set his sights on this stubborn Eastern woman as his conquest target.

There aren’t many female Lords who are so adaptable and diligent; most female Lords in this kind of environment take a long time to adapt, not to mention actively striking like Jiang Yi.

”Hey? What is that?!”

Before he could finish his words, Jiang Yi exclaimed.

Medina’s words stuck in his throat. Following Jiang Yi’s gaze, his pale blue eyes suddenly contracted, showing a look of astonishment that broke his previously calm demeanor.

Not far behind the Burrow Monster group, a small group of black shadows appeared, rapidly approaching the Burrow Monsters and finally colliding together, like a Steel Blade viciously tearing open a gap at the back of the Burrow Monster group.

This distance was enough for them to clearly see those black shadows that appeared later. They were a group of powerful warriors, obviously a Lord’s Influence.

Four warriors with Long Spears and Heavy Shields were at the frontline, a Dark Night Elf woman riding a Black Panther continuously maneuvered to throw ejection-capable Triangular Moon Blades, and a man in Solid Battle Armor wielded two enormous War Blades wildly slashing at the Burrow Monsters.

Behind them, Magic and Arrows flew into the Burrow Monsters like raindrops, radiant and splendid. At the very back of the team was someone with a Hunting Crossbow riding a Giant Wild Boar with ferocious tusks, a unit Medina had never seen before.

The entire team was simply a killing machine, simultaneously strangling monsters and pushing forward quickly, forcibly tearing open a big gap in the Burrow Monster Swarm.

This abrupt scene outside the territory left Medina dumbfounded, his poise completely lost. He swallowed a mouthful of saliva, his body on horseback involuntarily leaning forward, as if trying to see the scene more clearly.

This was a monster swarm of five to six hundred; even with his current setup, he dared not strike head-on; at most, relying on defense or terrain to fight and kill.

But this group of people in front was too brutal, with no thought of flanking, directly and roughly inserting into the monster swarm, killing with extreme speed. These warriors were obviously extraordinary, likely having undergone upgrades or other enhancements.

Jiang Yi was also dazed on the spot; she saw a familiar figure, confirmed after a good look – it was none other than Zong Shen!

Seeing Zong Shen, her expression showed some delight, and compared to the gloomy Medina, she was more inclined to cooperate with Zong Shen.

Medina was nothing but a smiling tiger. Back when the Burrow Challenge first appeared, he had already contacted Jiang Yi. At that time, the Official Period Rules had been adjusted not long ago, and he was eager to create a legion and upgrade his territory to lv3, causing many overlapping areas with Jiang Yi’s territory.

After Jiang Yi refused his invitation for the first time, unexplainable Burrow Monster Swarms appeared every night these days, seeming deliberately led to target her, very strongly.

So Jiang Yi was so fatigued, not just because of her ”liver,” but because a hidden hand always secretly led the Burrow Monster Swarm, increasing her pressure and trying to wear her down step by step.

With high mobility units, luring monsters wasn’t difficult, because the movement speed of Burrow Monsters generally wasn’t fast, and the number of aerial Gargoyles wasn’t many. With a bit of caution, it was possible to lure the Burrow Monster Swarm without attracting the Gargoyles’ attention.

Every time a sudden pressure appeared, Medina always brought his subordinates near the territory, persuading while watching the show, trying to break down Jiang Yi’s psychological defenses, a typical sly fox, with malicious intent disguised beneath friendliness.

A solitary girl like Jiang Yi trying to deal with a smiling tiger like Medina, who had both strength and straightforward schemes, faced immense pressure. Seeing Zong Shen at this moment, she unexpectedly sighed with relief.

Although Zong Shen is somewhat domineering, his character is commendable. He takes what he deserves without hesitation and isn’t greedy for what he shouldn’t take. Compared to others, he provides a strong sense of security.

She quickly raised her long saber and shouted towards the distance.

”Sect Lord!”

”I’m here to support you!”

”All soldiers, launch a strike with me!”

Jiang Yi raised her arm in a rallying cry and led the charge, the warriors behind her following suit.

Facing the direction of Zong Shen’s advance, she initiated a supportive assault, viciously cutting into the monster swarm.

With Zong Shen pressing forward from behind as reinforcement, Jiang Yi’s confidence surged, and soon she had an unstoppable momentum. The two sides began to merge quickly, simultaneously tearing the monster swarm into two.

Zong Shen wielded two big sabers, looking formidable beyond compare. With his exceptional attributes, he swept through like a wolf among sheep. He saw Jiang Yi and waved to her with a smile.

Two minutes later, they pierced through the monster swarm and managed to join forces.

The two teams united and headed back towards the territory.

Eventually, Jiang Yi and Zong Shen entered the territory, leaving the warriors outside to form a defensive stance at the constructed barricade, strangling the burrow monsters.

Jiang Yi let out a sigh of relief.

”Sect Lord, thank goodness you arrived!”

”Otherwise, I would’ve been stuck in a bitter battle.”

Jiang Yi said, somewhat excitedly.

Seeing her fatigued look, Zong Shen scratched his head and asked, puzzled.

”You look like you haven’t rested in days.”

”You’re pushing yourself too hard. Besides, it seems like you haven’t been slacking off, so why did such a large burrow monster swarm suddenly appear nearby? Something’s off.”

As Zong Shen spoke, he turned his head to look at Medina, who was standing in the back of the territory eating melons.

Medina glanced at Zong Shen, and for a moment, it felt as though tensions were brewing.

Both of them simultaneously found the other displeasing, a mutual repulsion that couldn’t be faked.

Zong Shen turned back to Jiang Yi.

”Is this blond who’s your friend?”

”He’s already in the territory, why didn’t he help?”

Zong Shen spoke frankly, already sensing an ill intent from him.

”Sect Lord, this is the Lord I mentioned who’s organizing the [Legion].”

”His territory is to the south, and he’s already recruited five or six members.”

Jiang Yi glanced at Medina and stood beside Zong Shen like a diligent secretary, introducing him.

Then she introduced Zong Shen to Medina.

”Lord Medina, this is the powerhouse of our region I told you about, Lord Zong.”

Upon hearing this, Medina’s eyes narrowed slightly, his expression changed, showing a smile. He dismounted his Grassland Horse and came to Zong Shen, extending his right hand.

”Hello, Lord Zong.”

”My name is Medina, and I’m the Legion Commander of the [Light Chaser Legion].”

”Pleasure to meet you.”

Zong Shen looked at his extended hand, then at him, smiled as well, reached out and shook hands with him, also glancing at the soldiers behind him.

The next words from Zong Shen made Medina’s smile disappear.

”Medina?”

”I’m also considering forming a legion.”

”You seem to have some experience, why not team up with me?”
