Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 209: Chapter 209: Ore Deposits and the Treasure Vault

Regarding this, Dutra had no objections. Ensuring the safety of his tribe was already his greatest pursuit.

The kobolds were very united internally, and when faced with the stronger Spider Web Monsters, they would choose to confront them. In Dutra’s view, the lives of his tribe outweighed everything.

They not only liked mining but also had a habit of collecting treasures like giant dragons.

This kobold tribe had been rooted and reproducing in the mine for about the same time as the Spider Web Monster race, with a history of several decades to over a century. The current chieftain, Dutra, was the second-generation chieftain.

Over the long years, they had practically turned every exploreable place in the mine upside down and indeed collected quite a few things.

After drinking the Moon God Spring, Dutra’s injuries gradually eased, allowing him to walk freely without support. He personally led Zong Shen into the workshop.

The entire workshop was large and had been transformed into the kobolds’ dwelling. At the deepest part of the workshop was a nesting bed laid with soft leather and hay.

Inside were dozens of gray and white large eggs, all of which were kobold eggs, the hope for their clan’s reproduction.

Many kobolds had already started, under the guidance of the prophet, packing these large eggs in net pockets made of hemp and carrying them away. They also had a considerable stockpile of mining pickaxes, essential items for their relocation.

As for clothing, they only wore the set on their bodies—a consistent appearance with gray leather vests and leather pants, typical underground spirit guys.

Only the kobold prophet dressed slightly more elaborately, wearing a tattered, knee-length robe. Overall, these guys didn’t have any fixed living supplies or private wealth, and their entire lifestyle was still in a very primitive tribal state.

Zong Shen observed the kobolds’ living situation while following Dutra into the workshop.

The fourteen kobolds in the camp had been relatively adaptable over the past few days. Being omnivores, they could consume anything humans could eat, and they had no objections to living in the inhabitants’ houses. After all, with a certain level of wisdom, they could follow orders.

Now, with this large batch of kobolds returning to the camp, the logistical burden would more than double. However, they wouldn’t remain in the camp for long. When the mine underwent formal development, Zong Shen planned to establish a living area there and build defensive fortifications inside and outside the mining area. Zong Shen had all the arrangements in mind.

Dutra led Zong Shen to several intact rooms next to the workshop. Here, they stored some of the precious ores they had collected, which were mostly rare, high-energy associated ores. The iron ores were just casually collected.

Apart from ores, the rooms also housed various treasures they collected from the mine or looted from travelers near the mine, including some money, jewelry, and some colorful handicrafts.

Who knows how much of it consisted of equipment Zong Shen could use. Pure handicrafts and jewelry weren’t of much use to Zong Shen; they could only be kept for future trade with indigenous people.

There were three rooms in front, none too large. Just as Zong Shen was about to open the door, Dutra stopped him.

”My Lord, please allow me to open the door. There are traps set at the entrance.”

Seeing Zong Shen’s puzzled expression, Dutra quickly explained, pointing at the floor in front of the room.

Then he carefully went around from the side and opened the door.

Zong Shen focused on the floor but couldn’t see any trace of traps with the naked eye.

However, a strategy prompt did appear.

(There’s a well-camouflaged Tier 3 Earth Spike Trap here, set by the kobold chieftain. Apart from mining, every kobold is naturally skilled at making traps.)

”Good heavens, you guys can make traps too!”

”That’s a very useful skill!”

Zong Shen’s eyes lit up, looking at Dutra with an even more eager expression.

Currently, Zong Shen could only set up Tier 1 traps based on blueprints, while the kobolds could immediately handle Tier 3 traps.

This indeed proved they had a strong talent for traps.

Upon hearing this, Dutra, who was standing at the room entrance, bared a grin with sharp teeth, displaying a smile.

”This is our innate talent. All kobolds have a natural love and advantage for mining and making traps.”

”It’s by relying on the ability to make traps that we’ve coexisted in the mine with that group of Spider Web Monsters for so long. If it weren’t for Leopold’s sudden increase in strength recently, this stalemate would have continued.”

”My Lord, just follow the path I took; that way, you won’t trigger the traps.”

Dutra proudly said, knowing mining and trap-making were two of the few specialties kobolds could boast of. Most types of kobolds were physically weak, except the Dragon-Body Kobolds, who were relatively robust and strong.

Hearing this, Zong Shen nodded, already considering establishing a kobold trap squad upon returning to the territory, setting traps in key areas nearby to strengthen the territory’s defense.

He carefully maneuvered to the room entrance, where this room was piled with Magic Energy Crystals and Elemental Crystals.

The room was filled to the brim, with Magic Energy Crystals even scattered at their feet, leaving Zong Shen somewhat stunned.

Seeing Zong Shen make no comment, Dutra thought Zong Shen was dissatisfied and quickly explained.

”This entire room was originally filled, but a few years ago, a bunch of damned goblin thieves stole quite a lot.”

”Those damned goblins are as annoying as dwarves!”

Zong Shen smiled and waved his hand, interrupting the rant.

”No, no, no, this quantity is already very satisfactory.”

”There’s a large amount of magic energy equipment in the territory that needs powering, and these elemental crystals are also essential materials for building elemental buildings.”

”By the way, Dutra, you’re the Chieftain and also a Heroic-level talent, you should have your own storage grid.”

”Help me collect all these magic energy crystals and elemental crystals.”

Zong Shen pointed at the crystals and instructed Dutra. As a Heroic-level figure, once you follow the Lord, you can allocate points to Lord-level passive skills, which is one of the privileges of a Lord.

Dutra nodded and began collecting. Soon, he had collected everything in this room, started counting the quantity, and reported to Zong Shen.

This batch of magic energy crystals and elemental crystals took up a total of 15 storage grids.

[High-Level Magic Energy Crystal ×196]

[Intermediate Magic Energy Crystal ×1973]

[Basic-Level Magic Energy Crystal ×5677]

[High-Level Elemental Crystal ×65]

[Intermediate Elemental Crystal ×767]

[Basic Elemental Crystal ×3359]

In terms of value, just these magic energy crystals and elemental crystals are a considerable fortune.

They are much more valuable than those 50,000-plus pieces of iron.

It feels so satisfying to directly receive the treasury and storeroom!

Zong Shen couldn’t wait to have Dutra take him to another room.

This room’s stock was even less, filled with some iron, copper, secret silver, and refined gold.

The iron was the most abundant, while secret silver and refined gold were much rarer and more precious.

Zong Shen personally collected them, first prioritizing the secret silver and refined gold, then collecting the copper and all the iron, taking up a total of seven storage grids.

The total haul was [Iron ×3978], [Copper ×775], [Secret Silver ×339], [Refined Gold ×137].

There was only one last room left; this one housed the treasures collected by the Dogmen.

Opening the door, Zong Shen’s eyes were almost blinded.

Inside, there were more than a dozen magic gemstones radiating elemental light. These gemstones are prime materials for creating rune magical items and excellent auxiliary materials. For instance, the Earth Beast gas bag in the Goblin Airship contains a Wind Spirit Gemstone, giving the airship wind magic power and making it more agile.

Beside them were boxes and boxes of gem powder, at least five or six of them, enough to make any rune magic master forger and alchemist go mad!

These are top-notch magic materials and a commonly used base material; one can never have too many.

There were also some flashy crafts, various styles of bottles and jars, and over fifty luxurious pieces of jewelry and ornaments. Zong Shen cast an eye over them and found only one-tenth of the jewelry to be equipment, with the rest marked in the strategy notes as precious handmade crafts, indicating that these pieces were not made with magic materials, just ordinary crafted jewelry.

Only jewelry created using rune forging technology alongside magic materials has utility as equipment.

Lastly, there was a money box filled with the money gathered by the Dogmen.

Without trade exchanges, this money was just as good as dirt.

But to Zong Shen, it was quite useful. The Mainland Continent Universal Dinar hasn’t changed since ancient times and holds an irreplaceable status, even better than the currency issued by the Empire.

Zong Shen opened the money box and collected it all, acquiring 37,607 Mainland Continent Universal Dinars. Although this amount wasn’t as much as the money box from the Goblin Merchant, it was still a considerable sum.

The five pieces of wearable jewelry were collected separately by Zong Shen.

The magic gemstones were also collected into storage grids by him and Dutra, while the rest of the materials were carried out of the workshop by the Dogmen for the warriors to take away.

After Zong Shen finished collecting the Dogmen’s mining stocks and treasure vault, the Dogmen were almost done as well. Each carried a net pocket with either a big egg or some roughly made personal items, appearing like refugees about to flee.

Each Wolf Cavalry held a box of gem powder, and Gun and Shield Warriors held net pockets full of crafts and jewelry.

Once everyone was ready, Zong Shen gave the order to return the way they came through the mine path.

Now, he could be considered incredibly wealthy. Today’s mine exploration had made him rich, and he wanted to return to the territory before night fell.
