Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Found the person?

Who found them?

How were they found?

The elite team, upon receiving the news, felt very complicated.

There was both the joy of finding their companion and a lot of unanswered questions.

Just as everyone was experiencing a mix of emotions,

the production team delivered a jaw-dropping message — it was contestant Chen Wen who found the rescue team member.

When this news came out, not only the members of the elite team were shocked, but even Vic almost spat out his coffee.

”No way?”

Vic couldn’t help but look at the captain of the rescue team, who was also a consultant for the Canada National Joint Rescue Team.

Even the other party, who was over fifty, blushed a little at this moment.

Damn, the rescue team was saved by the person they were supposed to protect!

What were they hired for, exactly?

A mascot?

Vic’s glance at this time was conveying that meaning, making the rescue team’s captain extremely embarrassed.

He coughed awkwardly, quickly asking, ”What’s the situation exactly? Speak quickly.”

...

Half an hour ago.

On Chen Wen’s side.

He was already lying on the bed, dozing off with his eyes half-closed.

But just as Chen Wen’s slight breathing started to grow louder, the old wolf, on night duty, lay feebly on the ground, its ears moving slightly.

Though it looked quite old outside, the old wolf’s hearing hadn’t deteriorated.

It caught some unusual sounds.

Because the blizzard outside had paused for a bit, the forest was extremely quiet now.

Aside from the occasional rustling sound of snow falling from the trees, there was almost no other noise.

But at this moment, the old wolf heard a faint crunching sound.

It slowly stood up, smacking the sleepy wolf mink awake with a paw.

Wolf Mink woke up dazed, looked at the old wolf, and just as a curse was about to slip out,

the old wolf said in a low voice, ”Listen! Is something approaching?”

Wolf Mink squinted its eyes, carefully listening to the sounds outside.

At this time, the red fox and the female coyote also woke up.

The red fox’s ears twitched, and it immediately locked onto the sound outside: ”There is a sound, a crunching, it seems like a large animal is approaching!”

This made all the animals tense, but soon, the tension turned into ferocity.

Even the female coyote bared its teeth and looked vicious.

After spending so many days together, it had long considered Chen Wen’s shelter as its own den.

If someone dared to approach now, how was it different from stealing from its home?

Just as all the animals were planning to fight to the end with whatever was outside.

Outside.

A limping figure shone over with a flashlight that provided almost no light.

The snow reflected a glaring white light, making the person squint.

He looked at the vast expanse of white snow, a look of despair flashing in his eyes.

”It shouldn’t be like this!”

The figure mumbled, looking troubled.

His name was Norman, the captain of Rescue Team Number Three, and he had some experience as a polar rescue personnel, although he was more skilled in the medical aspect.

Not long ago, his team encountered a wolf pack.

Due to his wrong command and the panic of his team members, they angered the wolf pack.

As the wolves launched an attack, of the five rescue team members, only three managed to escape.

Among them was him.

Accompanied by the only two remaining team members.

Norman walked through the forest in despair, having almost no supplies with them when they escaped.

Realizing that continuing like this might lead all three to death.

Norman made a decisive decision.

He and the two rescue personnel used the snow, leaning against a cliff, to build an igloo.

Norman let the two members rest in the igloo to recover their strength, while he himself took the only flashlight and compass, following the previous memory, to find the contestant closest to him, which was Chen Wen.

If he could find Chen Wen and contact the production team, they would be saved!

This is what Norman thought.

But reality slapped him hard in the face, telling him he was thinking too much.

At first, relying on his stamina, Norman walked quite fast.

But in the blizzard, directions were hard to discern, and he was losing body heat rapidly.

Soon, Norman’s speed drastically decreased.

One leg stepped into a snow-covered pit, causing him to twist his ankle badly.

As it got darker and Chen Wen’s shelter was nowhere in sight.

Norman felt hopeless.

He even thought about committing suicide to avoid further suffering.

But just as he reached the peak of despair, in his daze, he seemed to catch a glimpse of a faint orange light.

The light wasn’t large, just like a star.

But in the pitch-dark snowy field, that light was as dazzling as the sun!

At that moment, Norman thought it was like the hallucinations before death, akin to the little match girl.

But after slapping his freezing face hard, he suddenly realized that it was fire!

A fire in this weather...

It was Chen Wen!

Ecstasy overwhelmed Norman, feeling like his heart was about to jump out of his throat!

But despair hit again as the firelight flickered and disappeared with a gust of wind.

Fortunately, he still had some resilience left in him.

He stood still, took out his electronic compass.

Along with the slight trembling of the compass, he noticed that he was facing towards the northwest.

Norman realized there was a deviation in his previous route, but soon regained his morale.

Adrenaline kicked in, and sheer willpower dragged Norman’s body gradually towards Chen Wen’s shelter.

Norman’s steps were firm, the electronic compass in his hand also steadfastly pointing towards Chen Wen’s shelter.

Even if there were uneven pits and hollows on the way, he didn’t detour, determined to walk straight through despite worsening the injury on his already hurt ankle.

Hard work pays off.

After trudging for almost twenty minutes.

Norman reached outside the snow wall.

But as he shone the flashlight, the towering snow wall blocked Chen Wen’s shelter, and the life jacket Chen Wen put up was on the north side.

Norman just happened to miss the sign Chen Wen left.

Because of this, he showed a look of despair.

But just as Norman’s legs gave out and he collapsed to the ground.

A little thing, all white, suddenly appeared on the snow wall in front of him.

Norman’s dynamic vision was still decent.

When that little thing appeared, he immediately noticed it.

”What... kind of animal is this?”

Norman didn’t recognize that it was Chen Wen’s little animal friend — Ermine.

He looked dazed, and when the ermine tilted its head to look at him.

Norman’s consciousness blurred, and he completely passed out.

But the ermine recognized Norman.

It turned around, squeaking towards the shelter, ”Human! It’s a human! But it looks like a dying human! Should we help him?”

Human?

A dying human?

The old wolf, with its ear pressed against the shelter’s door, was momentarily stunned.

It quickly came to Chen Wen’s bed and woke up the extremely fatigued Chen Wen, who was exhausted from shoveling snow.

Chen Wen sat up, bleary-eyed, though his body was awake, his soul was still asleep.

So, Chen Wen instinctively asked, ”What’s up?”

The old wolf said seriously, ”There’s a human outside!”

This made Chen Wen’s hair stand on end, his soul not only woke up but fled in fright.

Damn it!

Where could a human come from in such a godforsaken place?

Could it be some wandering spirit?

By the way, are there even ghosts around here for foreigners?

Don’t they believe in Christ around here?

Chen Wen bared his teeth and was about to speak when his soul gradually returned.

That’s when he fully woke up, suddenly realizing there might actually be a living person here!

Grabbing the long spear, Chen Wen directed the animals to follow him.

After opening the door, Chen Wen squinted his eyes, activating the [Night Vision].

His eyes lit up like bright bulbs, scanning around the shelter.

Soon, he saw Norman slumped in the snow outside.

”Holy crap! There really is someone!”
