Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The production team here.

Everyone was caught completely off guard by this accident!

Greg, who was soaking in a hot bath, jumped out of the tub without delay, roughly rubbed his body with a towel, then dressed and headed to the surveillance room.

”What’s going on?!”

Although on the way, he had already heard the assistant explain the general situation once.

But Greg was still a little baffled at this point.

Why is it that the contestants are fine, but the rescue team is in trouble?

Damn it!

These three rescue teams are professionals I hired at a great expense!

Why is it like this?

The more Greg thought about it, the more agitated he became.

Seeing the staff member stammering, he angrily questioned, ”Speak up! Why can’t you say it?! Don’t tell me the rescue team vanished into thin air?!”

The staff member was extremely embarrassed.

He whispered, ”This rescue team is the one closest to the contestant Vic. We contacted them at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. respectively.”

”We just contacted them this morning and they told us everything was normal, but three hours later, when Vic announced his withdrawal, we couldn’t reach them.”

”Neither the general communication equipment nor the satellite phone works.”

Hearing this, a glimmer of doubt flashed in Greg’s eyes.

Three hours ago everything was normal, so how did they lose contact in such a short period of time?

Did they really just disappear into thin air?

”Alright then!”

Greg calmed down and announced his decision: ”Contact the second nearest rescue team and have them try to retrieve Vic. Also, let them check if they can go to the camp of the missing rescue team to see what the situation is there.”

After saying that, Greg added, ”Let the second nearest rescue team act within their capacity! Make sure nothing happens to them! Also, ask the two helicopter pilots if the current conditions allow for takeoff...”

Before Greg finished speaking, a consultant covered in sweat barged in.

He directly answered Greg’s question, ”We can’t take off. I just came from the helicopter area. The snowstorm has become more severe. The helicopter can only hover on the outskirts and can’t approach the center. Once it approaches, the high winds and extreme cold will destroy the helicopter instantly!”

Hearing this, Greg rubbed his temples and was genuinely troubled.

He continued to arrange some tasks, but they were all tentative actions.

Now the snowstorm is getting worse...

Greg took a deep breath and personally notified Vic’s assistant, then called Vic.

On the call, Greg informed Vic of all his arrangements

and instructed Vic to stay in place, do his best to block the windows, and light a fire for himself.

After listening, Vic, although a bit collapsed, quickly adjusted his mindset as a survivor.

Since the production team said that he could try everything to survive.

Vic’s mind quickly spun, and his eyes constantly examined what he had on hand.

Soon, under the threat of death, he had an idea.

Vic looked at the two black boxes he brought, which were filled with emergency supplies provided by the production team.

He quickly opened the black box and went outside.

In the snowstorm, in order to pile up snow in front of his window, he made a snow ramp level with the window height.

After making the snow ramp, Vic left the items inside the black box in the shelter, then filled the box with snow and packed it tight.

Then he placed the black box at the top of the snow ramp for stabilization.

Blocking the first window with a black box.

Next, the second one.

Vic replicated the process and placed the second box in front of the second window.

Although there were still drafts, it was better than having wind and snow gush directly into the shelter.

As for making fire.

Vic pondered for a while before finally settling his eyes on the battery of the first-person camera.

Taking a gamble, Vic gathered his last fire striker and dry wood.

Then he swung an axe and struck the battery hard.

Fzz!

The hard-hit battery immediately emitted a strange noise.

At the same time, a large amount of jet-black smoke gushed out from inside the battery.

Vic’s eyes fixated on the battery as he pushed it under the fire striker and dry wood.

After about ten seconds, suddenly with a bang, the battery exploded.

At the same time, sparks sprayed out from where the smoke had been gushing.

Sparks continuously ignited the fire striker, the high temperature and flames soon set the fire striker ablaze, and flames leaped out.

The fire striker was ignited!

But the dry wood needed a bit more.

After pondering for a moment, Vic, with a grave expression, took out some stored moose fat.

After applying the rendered yellowish-white fat to the dry wood, under the licking flames, the dry wood slowly showed signs of catching fire.

Good!

A glimmer of relief finally appeared in Vic’s eyes.

He leaned against the wall of the shelter, sat in front of the fireplace, and took big bites of the remaining food he had.

He had to fill his stomach now and wait for the rescue!

Vic quickly recognized his primary task, and although there was fear in his heart, more of it was determination!

...

Chen Wen’s side.

He was unaware of the production team’s situation.

Shoveling snow in the morning, resting at noon, and back to shoveling snow in the afternoon.

”Damn it, is this snow never-ending?!”

Chen Wen couldn’t help but gripe.

In just one noon, roughly four hours, the snow had accumulated to a depth of five to six centimeters again.

In a snowstorm, snow piles up rapidly.

Besides the snowfall from the sky, snow from other places can be blown over.

In places with obstacles, the blown-over snow will accumulate.

This phenomenon is very common in cities that frequently experience snowstorms.

Underneath tall buildings, high snowdrifts will build up after snowstorms rage.

That’s because the blown snow gets obstructed, building up.

While Chen Wen’s shelter wasn’t very high, it was tall compared to the surrounding flat land.

And he was also by a hill, and the hill’s obstruction was even more severe.

This increased Chen Wen’s burden.

However, this burden was entirely within Chen Wen’s bearable range.

His griping was purely because his mood was affected.

After all, in such weather, who wouldn’t want to lie comfortably in a shelter, by the fire, drinking hot tea, and eating steaming hot cooked meat?

But just as Chen Wen was shoveling snow.

In the distance, accompanied by gusts of turbulent wind, a pile of things wrapped in snow got blown over from afar.

Chen Wen was sweeping snow at this time when suddenly there was a muffled sound from the other side of the hill.

This gave him a start.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and stopped what he was doing.

Calling on the old wolf familiar with the route, Chen Wen and the old wolf moved towards the other side of the hill.

A moment later, amidst the swirling snow, Chen Wen saw a lump of orange-colored material.

He instinctively approached and upon seeing it clearly, his face changed abruptly.

It was a life jacket, very new, and it was covered in blood!

What’s going on?

Chen Wen reached out to touch the surface of the life jacket.

There was a layer of ice on it.

And some tearing marks made by something.

The old wolf came over at this time.

It sniffed the life jacket and its eyes flickered, ”Hiss! Something’s off, I seem to smell the scent of one of our kind...”
