Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The second day of treating the reindeer.

After waking up, Chen Wen immediately went to check on the reindeer.

The reindeer shivered when it saw Chen Wen.

Obviously, the psychological shadow still lingered.

However, Chen Wen didn’t care much about that.

He carefully examined the condition of the reindeer.

”Hmm... It looks like it won’t die anytime soon. It’s starting to eat, which is a good sign. Although its leg still has bruises and abscesses, I felt the bone, and it seems aligned.”

Chen Wen said, in order to confirm his judgment.

He removed the bark and felt the reindeer’s bone.

There were no protrusions, which gave Chen Wen a sigh of relief.

After all this effort, it hasn’t been in vain!

Once the bark was wrapped back on, Chen Wen no longer fussed over the reindeer, instead feeding it a daily amount according to its intake.

Additionally, Chen Wen acquired the last two word entries for this survival.

They were Deer Pollen’s [Anti-Diarrhea] and North American Reindeer’s [Great Migration].

[Anti-Diarrhea (Purple): Actively activate this entry to greatly alleviate the current diarrhea situation, with a probability of directly curing it. ps: It’s an active entry, after each use you’ll become extremely hungry, so immediate energy replenishment is necessary, and it takes a week to recover after each use.]

[Note: Put me in water and boil for dozens of minutes, and you’ll get a hot bowl of anti-diarrhea soup! ps: Who figured this out? Come, come, I have something to ask! — Deer Pollen]

[Great Migration (Purple): When you decide to migrate, increase your carrying capacity, increase hunger endurance, improve walking ability and stamina.]

[Note: I heard that on the other side of the world, many animals migrate just like us, is it true? — North American Reindeer]

These two word entries are quite decent overall.

One relieves diarrhea and even has a chance for direct cure, paired with Chen Wen’s [Enhanced Digestive System] and [Big Stomach, No Need to Say More], giving Chen Wen the confidence to drink raw water and eat raw meat directly.

Of course, for taste and health, Chen Wen won’t actually do that.

The other one improves migration capabilities.

This entry is certainly not as outstanding as [Anti-Diarrhea].

But if you need to survive in a constantly migrating environment, this entry is quite decent.

Both entries are relatively balanced without any significant drawbacks.

After simply selecting the word entries.

Chen Wen also began making final preparations for the impending blizzard.

So far, he feels his preparations are foolproof.

Fuel is adequate, the shelter has been patched up, and he even surrounded the walls with an ice barrier.

The food is plentiful to the point of being uncountable, and the shelter is spacious and warm.

Except for the strong beast odor, there’s practically no downside.

”Everything is ready, just waiting for the blizzard to come!”

Chen Wen was full of confidence, waiting for the blizzard to arrive.

...

Another person equally confident as Chen Wen was Roland.

With a musk ox in hand, his stomach is unworried.

The stone-wall pit is solid and warm.

And Roland is surviving alone, so the food pressure is minimal.

Other than the psychological sense of loneliness being more severe than Chen Wen’s, his gap with Chen Wen is minimal.

At least in the program crew’s side, Roland has been booked as a contender to compete for the championship with Chen Wen.

...

There were only two with confidence; the rest were lacking it.

Adam was still fretting over food.

In his food, there are too many Arctic hares, with ample protein but severely lacking the fats needed to weather the cold.

Also, in recent days, Adam’s search for food has made him neglect the repairs of his shelter.

By the time he remembered, it was already too late.

Now Adam is mending past negligence, using the last bit of time to repair the shelter.

It’s like an author on some site hastily releasing the last 2000 words before midnight every night.

Haste! Panic!

Vini was doing a bit better, but his shelter was somewhat better than Adam’s.

However, on the food front, some of the reindeer meat he had stocked was stolen by a camp thief.

This caused Vini to be a bit anxious about his food reserves.

These days he’s been hunting for opportunities, but only managed to catch a few rabbits.

As for Vic.

He was rushing to stock up on fuel and repairing his shelter.

Hua Yun here.

She was quite troubled about her shelter.

The minor flaws from not building it properly in the past have now become huge gaps.

If she can’t reinforce the house before the blizzard hits, a horrific crisis will befall Hua Yun!

...

From the program crew’s side.

They were also doing their final prep work.

Considering the difficulty of blizzard rescues, the crew spent a large sum hiring three rescue teams, having them set up rescue points about one kilometer away from the contestants with survival supplies and superb tents.

If there are issues on the contestants’ end, these three rescue teams can reach them as fast as possible.

To provide assistance and rescue to the contestants.

In addition, the program crew hired two renowned members of a polar rescue team, skilled at helicopter search and rescue in such dangerous and complex polar areas.

The safety of the contestants is still quite important to the program crew.

Beyond the assurance of rescue, the crew also prepared new contracts, providing financial support for the contestants.

Amidst everyone’s wait, hints of the approaching blizzard gradually appeared.

...

The first to notice the weather change was the Eagle.

One morning, just as Chen Wen was busy feeding a large group of animals.

The Eagle came over to Chen Wen in a tense manner and said seriously: ”Chen Wen, I have a feeling that something’s going to happen!”

Something’s going to happen?

Chen Wen didn’t react at first, but soon he realized what the Eagle was referring to.

He chuckled as he placed a piece of sliced meat in front of the Eagle, comforting it: ”Don’t panic, it’s just a blizzard, we’ve prepared sufficiently, any big one...”

Chen Wen paused, not daring to complete his sentence.

He coughed, changing his tone: ”Ahem, it won’t be too big, just an ordinary blizzard, we can easily get through it.”

The Eagle nodded at his words.

It believed in what Chen Wen said.

”But, you should pay attention; I have a feeling this wind’s going to be something fierce!”

The Eagle continued.

As a child of the sky, it was very sensitive to winds.

Seeing the Eagle’s warning, Chen Wen became more cautious.

He realized the greatest threat from this blizzard might be the wind.

Chen Wen glanced at his shelter.

Hmm, even a gale, his shelter should withstand it.

”Got it, let the other animals know, telling them to be cautious and better not go out these days,”

Chen Wen said to the Eagle.

He then pondered over further reinforcing the shelter against the potential fierce wind.

Meanwhile, Chen Wen took another look at the reindeer.

Under his care, the reindeer whose fracture he had set, its leg was not as swollen as before.

However, as the saying goes, ”It takes a hundred days to recover from bone injuries,” it was still quite hard for it to move.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and untied the ropes on the reindeer.

He patted the front part of the reindeer’s body and smoothed its fur: ”Alright, although one leg is lame, you should manage to walk out, find a herd willing to accept you, and you should be able to survive the blizzard.”

But to Chen Wen’s surprise, the reindeer didn’t leave.
