Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The friends mentioned by the moose were naturally the pile of bones placed deep in the cave.

Chen Wen initially thought this was the remains of some Druid predecessor of his.

But as the moose explained, he realized the true identity of these bones.

”This was a creature, well, you humans would call it a grizzly bear.”

The moose seemed eager to talk, as it hadn’t spoken to anyone for a long time.

It squinted its eyes, reminiscing: ”Like me, it was also a friend’s Druid, but sadly, it made a different choice.”

”This cave was dug out by it.”

Upon hearing the moose’s words, Chen Wen was taken aback.

Good heavens, this cave was entirely dug out by the grizzly bear?

Just how massive was this grizzly bear?

Additionally, if the moose and the grizzly bear were creatures from the same era,

Looking at the pile of bones almost completely petrified, Chen Wen seriously doubted that the moose’s age might surpass the history of the nation he belonged to!

After gently gathering the bones,

The moose continued: ”The land outside seems hard to dig, hmm... help me block the entrance of this cave.”

Chen Wen nodded slightly.

Blocking the cave wasn’t difficult.

Around the cave were plenty of stones.

By moving the stones over and piling them at the cave entrance, it could essentially be blocked.

After some light physical activity, Chen Wen brought the stones over and roughly blocked the cave.

Soon, the moose felt it was enough.

It called Chen Wen to stop, then lowered its head, pacing around the stones for a while.

Finally, the moose softly called a few times.

It seemed to be bidding farewell to its friend.

...

Back at the program crew.

Chen Wen and the actions of this odd moose naturally caught the attention of the program crew staff.

”An albino moose, that’s an extremely rare animal!”

A Hunter Guide couldn’t help but say: ”I’ve heard that encountering an albino moose brings good luck!”

”That’s indeed a saying.”

Someone agreed.

However, some also wondered if the meat of the albino moose would differ from ordinary moose.

”Chen Wen surely wouldn’t kill this albino moose; rather, he’s likely attempting to tame it.”

Director Greg said.

Based on his understanding of Chen Wen, during times of plentiful food, Chen Wen wouldn’t resort to killing indiscriminately.

What’s more, Chen Wen has a strong desire to tame animals that appear special in any way.

Moreover, Greg felt this albino moose seemed wiser than other moose.

Perhaps it would be easier to tame?

...

Now with Chen Wen.

He looked at the albino moose, filled with curiosity but unsure how to start asking.

The albino moose, seeing Chen Wen’s perplexity, chuckled inwardly.

Soon, it said: ”Ask away, New Druid, start with what you most want to know.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen simply asked: ”You know about Druids?”

”Yes, I am a friend to your previous, or rather, even earlier Druid. He called me ’Moose,’ so that’s the name I go by.”

The moose said: ”There were no secrets between him and me, which is why I know about the existence of Druids.”

Chen Wen nodded; this wasn’t outside his expectations.

There had indeed been other Druids before him.

But...

Why only the previous one?

Chen Wen voiced this question.

The moose thought for a moment, seemingly pondering the question.

After a moment, it said: ”The Druid... according to my friend, only one real Druid can exist in this world!”

Good lord, this thing is a unique tradition!

Chen Wen shook his head: ”Alright, let’s move to the next question. Why can you speak the human language?”

Upon hearing this, the moose happily replied: ”It’s due to the magical abilities of you Druids. That Druid and I made various agreements, one of which included terms from your human languages. Speaking like humans was the second agreement.”

Agreement...

Chen Wen hissed softly; could it be a new system feature?

As he was pondering, the moose’s following words confirmed it.

It continued: ”I gave all my terms to him, and he could transform into my likeness at any time. In exchange, I could select terms from his term library—seems like such a thing—selecting up to ten. But I only chose four, and that Druid disappeared.”

Regarding the terms the moose chose, Chen Wen was deeply curious.

And the moose satisfied his curiosity.

Its four terms were: a luck-enhancing term from the weasel, a strength-enhancing term from the grizzly bear, a language term from the Druid, and a long sleep term from the Greenland Shark.

Among these four terms, the Greenland Shark’s term surprised Chen Wen the most.

The term had a peculiar effect; it significantly reduced life activities and metabolism, granting a creature a prolonged lifespan.

The moose also explained its longevity, attributing it to this term!

”Terms are truly magical things.”

The moose nodded and said: ”During seasons other than winter, I sleep in this cave. Only in the coldest season do I come out, eat, and gather enough food for a year’s activity. Ever since choosing this term, I’ve ceased growing. I’ve maintained this size for countless years.”

Chen Wen nodded.

Terms are indeed extraordinary.

They enable creatures to acquire traits from others, essentially granting a new evolutionary path.

At this moment, the moose continued: ”Unlike the terms I chose, the grizzly bear selected seven combat terms. During its living period, no animal in this forest could rival it.”

Chen Wen nodded.

Definitely.

Seven combat terms would even make a chicken immensely powerful.

Chen Wen felt many of his questions were becoming clearer.

He then looked at the moose and nodded slightly: ”Other questions... we’ll discuss later. I need to head back now; it’s almost dark. Will you come with me?”

The moose shook its large head, agreeing to leave with Chen Wen.

To be precise, it was actually awaiting the arrival of a new Druid.

Regarding this moose, Chen Wen didn’t completely trust it.

Therefore, the communication feature has not yet been unlocked for it.

As Chen Wen left with the moose, the weasel and eagle curiously eyed the huge creature, persistently asking Chen Wen questions about it.

With a headache from their inquiries, Chen Wen shared some trivial information with them.

On leaving the island, Chen Wen noticed the moose’s very slow movements.

To be precise, it was exceedingly slow.

The moose directly suggested Chen Wen proceed ahead, while it would follow his scent and footprints from behind.
