Wilderness Survival with Druid System

After the moose joined, Chen Wen felt that his life was still the same as before.

Just do what needs to be done.

He just had to take some time every day to help the moose store some food.

For the moose, the upcoming period is crucial.

If it doesn’t have enough food for its next hibernation, it will have to give up hibernation and, like a regular moose, forage in the forest.

But if it does that, its lifespan will drastically decrease.

According to the moose, it can still live for about a hundred years or so.

After all, a sleeper shark’s lifespan is not infinite.

Its traits naturally cannot make an animal immortal.

Therefore, Chen Wen took some time to help the moose store food.

...

As for Chen Wen, in Greg’s eyes, taming the moose was a surefire thing.

However, Chen Wen managed to tame the moose with almost no effort, which surprised Greg quite a bit.

But what surprised Greg even more was still to come.

Over on Hua Yun’s side.

It’s unclear whether teaming up with Chen Wen once opened her mind,

or whether it was due to luck,

but she also started taming animals.

She set her sights on a stray North American reindeer.

This reindeer had all three legs injured, making it almost immobile.

Upon encountering Hua Yun, it tried to escape but couldn’t.

Hua Yun cautiously tied up the North American reindeer with a rope, then went back to get a small cart and gathered some reindeer moss.

While feeding it, she attempted to tame it.

So far, the results have been decent.

At the very least, after she fed it, the reindeer was able to accept Hua Yun approaching it.

”Could it be that Hua Country has mastered some animal taming technique?”

Seeing Hua Yun’s actions,

the show’s crew started buzzing with discussions.

However, compared to Chen Wen’s almost miraculous taming methods, people found Hua Yun’s methods more acceptable.

As people talked, Hua Yun also placed the reindeer on the small cart and took it back to her shelter.

Taming animals.

This was a new challenge and a novel experience for Hua Yun.

She was very eager to try it.

...

Survival continued.

Chen Wen methodically went about his work, occasionally making some quirky little gadgets to add some fun to the monotonous life.

Before they knew it, it was day 60 of the survival challenge.

Unlike other contestants’ shelters, Chen Wen’s shelter was bustling with life.

Chen Wen made lots of little things to ensure the animals could live happily in the shelter.

Such as a big bone for the wolf mink to chew on, an antler perch for the eagle, a stuffed Arctic rabbit for the young coyotes to practice their hunting skills, a small bone for the stoat to gnaw on, rabbit-skin nests for the old wolf and red fox, a wooden house for the moose, and so on.

In short, it was quite lively on Chen Wen’s side, almost like a wildlife amusement park.

But unlike the joyful Chen Wen, things weren’t going well for the other contestants.

Gaston had it the worst.

His food was depleting day by day, and loneliness filled his heart.

Finally, on the morning of day 60,

after catching nothing from ice fishing, Gaston angrily threw his ice fishing gear into the hole.

He gave up on continuing to survive.

At this point, in director Greg’s view, those contestants who were a step behind in strength were all eliminated.

What followed was the showdown between high-caliber contenders!

...

Over on Hua Yun’s side,

as time passed, she completely grasped the knack of getting along with the reindeer.

Now Hua Yun could ride the reindeer.

She even used the moose skin she hunted before to make a simple deer saddle.

Moreover, having a tamed beast made loneliness much less of a factor for her.

...

As for Adam, Roland, Vini, and Vic, their daily survival was quite alright,

but each of them was more or less affected by the solitude.

Their self-conversations increased, and they often found themselves staring blankly at the shelter.

At times, it seemed quite eerie.

Their mental state wasn’t optimal, but it hadn’t developed into anything more serious.

...

Over at Chen Wen’s place,

with the arrival of day 60, the doctor once again brought tools to conduct a health check for contestants.

However, as the doctor arrived with difficulty at Chen Wen’s shelter,

he was attracted by peals of laughter, followed by being stunned by the scene before him.

In Chen Wen’s camp,

a huge albino moose lay in a wooden shelter, supported by spruce as beams.

Beside it, an old wolf with somewhat dull and mangy fur was squinting its eyes, occasionally raising its head to howl.

In front of the old wolf and moose were three grown-up young coyotes, chasing and playing.

The three young coyotes were surrounding a human-made Arctic rabbit specimen.

Next to the three young coyotes, an adult female coyote and a red fox lay quite near, squinting their eyes, looking somewhat gratified at the young coyotes honing their hunting skills.

At the high point of the shelter, an adult wolf mink and an eagle gathered together.

The wolf mink slept belly-up with eyes closed.

The eagle, however, had eyes flashing, staring intently at the doctor.

This... is this a zoo?

While the doctor was lost in thought, a pure white stoat jumped down from an unknown tree, landing on the doctor’s shoulder, scratching his earmuffs with its claws.

The doctor shivered, wanting to shake the stoat off but worried about angering it.

In the end, his whole body went stiff, standing motionless.

”Ahem, Bai Ying, come down.”

From behind the doctor, Chen Wen’s voice sounded.

Hearing the call, the stoat quickly jumped off the doctor’s shoulder and was accurately caught by Chen Wen.

Only then did the doctor dare to turn around and meet Chen Wen’s gaze.

The doctor smiled with a face uglier than crying: ”What’s this...”

”Hey, sorry, I just went out for a bit.”

Chen Wen said smilingly, patting the doctor’s shoulder skillfully: ”Shall we go to the shelter for a sit?”

”No, no.”

Looking at the path to the shelter, teeming with various animals, the doctor repeatedly refused: ”Let’s get to the point, first measure the body data.”

Chen Wen readily agreed.

On the snowy ground, the doctor measured Chen Wen’s weight.

The result came as a surprise to him.

”Uh?”

The doctor was dumbfounded as he looked at the previous data.

”What’s wrong? Is the data incorrect?”

Chen Wen asked, thinking there was a mistake in the data.

But the doctor shook his head, saying somewhat unexpectedly: ”No, the data is correct, but you weigh seven kilograms more than last time!”

This data is quite astonishing!

In a wilderness survival scenario, a contestant who survived for 60 days weighs seven kilograms more than 30 days ago and two kilograms more than when he first arrived!

How much good stuff has he been eating!

Chen Wen was also surprised to hear this: ”Wow, did I gain that much weight?”

He rubbed his newly grown beard, analyzing the reason for his weight gain: ”I’ve been eating too much meat and haven’t been exercising much, hmm, maybe I ate too much boiled musk ox rolls yesterday...”

The doctor wiped his sweat.

What the heck, eating too much?

After measuring some other physical indicators of Chen Wen, the doctor gave his measurement results: ”Well, there’s no problem with the physical data, except... your blood pressure is a bit high, you should exercise more...”

Saying this, even the doctor found it a bit bizarre.

Telling a wilderness survival contestant to exercise more?

He shook his head, glanced at the numerous peculiar animals, and hurriedly took his leave.
