Wilderness Survival with Druid System

”Major discovery!”

Over here in the production team, everyone was worried and frowning.

Chen Wen’s monitor and Lin Jiawei came running over together.

They both looked a bit nervous but also excited as they faced Director Greg.

Greg looked puzzled upon hearing this: ”What?”

The monitor swallowed and quickly relayed Chen Wen’s discovery.

”A new life jacket, with blood stains and wolf claw marks on it?”

Greg repeated the monitor’s words and shook his head: ”What does this indicate?”

Lin Jiawei added: ”These things alone might not mean much, but I’m very familiar with the style of that life jacket!”

When the rescue team set out, several assistants of the contestants went to have a look.

After all, it concerns the safety of the contestants.

Lin Jiawei was naturally there as well.

At the time, he noticed that the style of the life jackets worn by these rescue team members was somewhat different from those in our country.

Hence, Lin Jiawei paid more attention to the life jackets.

He noticed that these life jackets had the logo of this private rescue team on the left chest.

After Chen Wen found the blood-stained life jacket,

he saw the logo immediately and recognized the owner of the jacket.

Hearing Lin Jiawei’s words, everyone who previously didn’t take this matter seriously immediately sat up straight.

They exchanged glances quickly.

”Is it really from the team that went missing?”

A consultant raised a question: ”Chen Wen and Vic’s survival locations are very far apart, at such a distance... it seems unlikely that the wind would blow a life jacket that far, right?”

This remark received agreement.

Although snow life jackets aren’t particularly heavy,

it’s unlikely they could be blown that far...

Everyone shook their heads, feeling it was improbable, yet the evidence was there; Chen Wen indeed found one of the rescue team’s life jackets, and it was new.

While everyone was puzzled.

Suddenly, a staff member from the production team said, ”There seems to be another rescue team near Chen Wen, could it be theirs?”

This startled the previously silent crowd.

Greg looked immediately at his assistant, his voice trembling slightly: ”Have you contacted this team?”

The assistant immediately turned around, instructing someone to inquire about this team’s situation.

Meanwhile, he released their previous correspondence records: ”We made contact, it was in the morning, but then we were busy trying to locate the missing team’s staff and didn’t continue the contact.”

This statement made everyone start breaking out in a sweat.

Moments later, accompanied by a series of hurried footsteps, the staff member who had just left rushed in, their face looking grim.

Upon seeing this, the senior members of the production team, including the consultants and the directors, had their expressions change completely.

Sure enough, the staff member brought back grim news: ”We can’t reach them! Aside from the team going to pick up Vic, the other two teams are completely unreachable!”

Hell!

Greg leaned back in his chair, feeling dizzy.

The contestants who were supposed to be protected are all fine, yet two of the rescue teams meant to protect them have run into trouble!

Greg gritted his teeth and shouted: ”Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on?!”

”Why is there such a colossal mistake with the two rescue teams I hired at high cost, hmm?”

Within the crowd, a consultant responsible for introducing the rescue teams was sweating and didn’t dare to make eye contact with Greg.

But Greg precisely picked him out of the crowd: ”Damn it! Angelo! Tell me what’s going on!”

Called by name, Consultant Angelo shivered, his face turning pale.

Something’s wrong!

Everyone looked at Angelo, some with anger, others with schadenfreude.

After hesitating for a long time, Angelo slowly explained: ”I... our people contacted the rescue teams, they have a good relationship with this rescue team, so...”

”Relationship?!”

Greg laughed angrily: ”Does this rescue team not know they need to survive in the blizzard with the contestants for over ten days? Is this a job that requires backdoor dealings?!”

Angelo replied, attempting to defend the rescue team: ”This private rescue team is actually quite competent, their core members are all retired personnel from the Joint Rescue Team, and they even have a consultant from the Joint Rescue Team...”

”But they’re the ones having issues now, right?!”

Greg suppressed his anger and turned to the staff responsible for liaising with the rescue teams: ”Keep in constant contact with our only remaining rescue team and ask them about the situation of the other two teams. Also, as I said before, have them help check on the other two teams as much as possible, everyone get moving!”

After shooing away the crowd.

Greg noticed that Lin Jiawei and the monitor had not left.

For these two who brought critical information, he did not lose his temper or take out his anger, but instead thanked them kindly, asking them to continue monitoring Chen Wen’s situation.

As for asking Chen Wen to check things out, Greg couldn’t make such a brainless decision.

In the current circumstances, going out without any equipment is almost a death wish for Chen Wen.

The white, snowy landscape has extremely low visibility and is experiencing severe whiteout conditions.

The normal human vision is suppressed to a range of fifty meters, or even thirty meters.

Even on their side, any decision-making has to wait until the blizzard subsides a bit.

After letting the two leave, Greg took out his phone, starting to use his connections to see if he could find a new professional rescue team.

...

Meanwhile, with Chen Wen.

After bringing the bloodstained jacket back to camp, he didn’t make any risky moves.

Instead, he hung it outside the camp, on the snowman previously used to secure the musk ox head.

”It seems someone nearby must have been in danger.”

After hanging the life jacket, Chen Wen walked and contemplated the jacket’s situation.

If someone really encountered danger and was attacked by gray wolves,

they really have terrible luck.

Although there are few reports about how animals cope under a blizzard.

But Chen Wen learned from the old wolf that in face of a blizzard, the North American gray wolf packs usually find suitable places to shelter from the wind.

Even if they can’t find shelter, they huddle together, relying on body heat to keep warm as a pack.

They almost never move around.

Encountering gray wolves in such dire weather truly qualifies as bad luck.

Besides bad luck, these people are ridiculous.

Chen Wen couldn’t figure out what kind of people would venture into the wastelands of Great Slave Lake during such awful weather.

Even if they were local hunters...

Chen Wen, who had just walked into his shelter, froze for a moment, as an idea flashed in his mind.

Yes, who on earth would come to Great Slave Lake in this terrible weather?
