Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 335: Chapter 4: Targeted

The introduction session concluded, and Abel explained the recording process.

The entire recording of the program is divided into the preliminary, middle, and final stages.

The preliminary recording will take about a week, the middle stage will take a full month, and the final stage will depend on the situation, but it won’t exceed half a month.

The whole recording process will take about two months.

After discussing the recording timeline, Abel provided a detailed introduction to what each stage involves recording.

”The preliminary recording includes trash talk, drawing, selecting tools, and participant interviews. We’ve already sent the document with specific content to each of your assistants.”

Abel took a sip of his drink and quickly said, ”The middle stage is about survival. If someone is eliminated during survival, they still need to stay at the camp until the recording ends.”

”The final stage involves assisting with editing, doing some voiceovers, and supplementing the visuals. Everyone will be notified about this in due time.”

”In any case, the entire process is about two months. I hope to spend these two months pleasantly with all the survivors. Thank you, everyone.”

With the sound of applause, the first meeting successfully came to an end.

After Chen Wen returned to his room, he received the document about the preliminary recording from Lin Jiawei.

”So, trash talk is scheduled for tomorrow? That soon?”

Chen Wen remarked in surprise.

However, this time the trash talk isn’t as freeform as the one in the Sonora Desert.

This trash talk is based on specific questions. You need to answer questions on a questionnaire first, then the editing team will deliberate and record based on that.

It’s like writing a trash talk draft first, then recording based on the drafts from the ten contestants.

After the trash talk phase comes the drawing phase, which determines the starting point for everyone’s survival.

There’s not much to say about this drawing.

The ten contestants are distributed along the Kuanduo River as the axis, and the environment around each point is more or less the same.

The level of danger is almost identical.

There’s no significant disparity to speak of.

The only thing worthy of attention is who the survivors around you might be, which will determine whether to ally or oppose your neighboring survivors when survival begins.

Finally, there’s the selection of tools.

This time, the tool selection is quite strict, with each contestant having only three tool selection opportunities.

This requires serious consideration.

The tools need to be reasonably paired as best as possible.

After reading the document, Chen Wen had a clear understanding.

He was about to sleep and planned to review the survival keywords before bed.

But then he heard a knock at the door.

So late, who could it be?

Chen Wen was startled for a moment and looked through the peephole.

Outside was Feng Zhong, looking slightly anxious.

”Mr. Feng? What brings you here...”

As soon as the door opened, Feng Zhong walked in eagerly.

This highly surprised Chen Wen.

Mr. Feng’s character, notwithstanding, his demeanor has always been steady.

As they often say, he doesn’t easily show joy or anger.

”Don’t mention it. I feel like there’s going to be big trouble this time!”

Feng Zhong’s explosive remark left Chen Wen momentarily speechless.

Chen Wen scratched his head and poured Feng Zhong a glass of water: ”Mr. Feng, what do you mean by big trouble?”

Could it be that there’s gold discovered in the Kuanduo River?

Or diamonds?

Feng Zhong didn’t beat around the bush and said directly, ”After the meeting, you left quickly. I lingered for a while.”

”I thought about talking to the other contestants, at least to avoid inviting unnecessary hostility. But guess what?”

Chen Wen cooperatively showed a curious expression: ”What?”

”No one paid any attention to me!”

Feng Zhong’s expression suddenly turned stern: ”Whether it’s Adam, Rock, or Yoshikawa Feng, even Jamie and Kaelian, if I don’t approach them, they won’t approach me, and if I do approach them, they find excuses to end the conversation with me.”

Chen Wen let out a gasp, looking genuinely shocked.

His face was full of emotional endorsement.

Feng Zhong continued, pleased: ”So, I suspect that in this survival, they might team up to take down either one of us.”

”As the strongest among us, I’m a little too vulnerable now.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen scratched his head.

When did I become the weaker one?

But he still said, ”Mr. Feng, you might be overthinking it. This kind of situation is unlikely to happen.”

”No, you’re thinking too little.”

Feng Zhong spoke with the air of someone with experience: ”In this type of survival where contestant confrontation is allowed, betrayal and alliances can happen at any time. You must consider the worst-case scenario.”

”You don’t know, Adam and Yoshikawa Feng were chatting happily, Rock and Kaelian were also talking, the little black guy Jamie was always communicating with Vanessa, Ivan and Brad were as close as brothers. In this situation, do you think the two of us can fare well?”

”I’m worried that as soon as we land, they will band together against us!”

As Feng Zhong spoke, a hint of panic appeared on his face.

Speechless.

Utterly speechless.

Chen Wen clicked his tongue, reassuring him: ”Mr. Feng, let’s put it this way. Look at our landing positions and the tools we bring. With three tools and such a harsh environment, you can’t team up with anyone but the most trusted people.”

”The nearest landing distance is over five kilometers. In such circumstances, if it’s not someone you trust nearby, everyone’s first task upon landing is actually just to stabilize first, at least find a safe spot.”

”Also, everyone’s tools are very scarce. If you encounter someone untrustworthy, both sides will guard against each other stealing tools or even eliminating themselves.”

”A large-scale alliance is impossible to appear, much less the scenario of immediately seeking someone to eliminate upon landing, wouldn’t you agree?”

Chen Wen’s analysis was quite logical.

But Feng Zhong was still half-convinced.

Seeing that Chen Wen really didn’t mind these, he didn’t say more.

After returning to his room, Feng Zhong immediately contacted Qu Yong to inform him of the situation.

And asked Qu Yong for a solution.

About an hour later, Qu Yong replied to Feng Zhong.

His reply was not much different from Chen Wen’s, basically reassuring Feng Zhong not to worry.

He stated that large-scale collaborations are impossible.

Upon seeing Qu Yong’s response, Feng Zhong felt somewhat relieved.

But he still decided to hide upon landing, then maneuver to a less populated area for survival.

Once the situation stabilized, he’d then reunite with Chen Wen.

...

Adam’s room.

”How did your chat with Kaelian go?”

He asked Rock beside him.

Rock shook his head: ”This woman is not as clumsy as she looks; she’s smart and only trusts Jamie. Teaming up is impossible. If you or I encounter her alone, we might even get eliminated. She’s very aware of who poses a threat to her, so she actively eliminates such threats. How about on your end?”

Adam also shook his head: ”Yoshikawa Feng is indeed a petty person. He’s cunning and needs to be watched. Compared to Yoshikawa Feng, I’d rather team up with Chen Wen. Did you notice? After the meeting, Chen Wen left the fastest, earliest.”

”Of course, I noticed.”

Rock pulled a corner of his mouth, showing a smile that was either mocking or admiring: ”A very confident person.”

”He has the capability. You’ve seen his profile; he’s exceptionally skilled at Beast Taming and using wild animals to survive.”

Adam felt stressed: ”Among the world’s survivors, apart from him, no one knows how to do that.”

”A gifted contestant; the chairman commented on him after watching the Sonora Desert survival.”

Rock shared what he had personally heard: ”He’s a survivor even more powerful and unique than Chairman Liu Yu. His only shortcoming is lack of experience.”
