Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 313: Chapter 2: The Vice Presidents of the Hospital

Chen Wen left the Yukon in early December.

Very low-key.

Returned with Hua Yun and Yang Feng and the others.

After landing, without waiting for Chen Wen to slip away.

He was taken by Hua Yun to the Exploration Association’s designated partner hospital, a top-tier facility in the capital.

”We’re regulars here at the association; show your association ID before using insurance, and you get a thirty percent discount.”

Hua Yun reminded Chen Wen, ”Your association ID will be ready in a few days.”

Chen Wen nodded, while curiously observing his surroundings.

”Wow, here they have top-notch doctors for treating things like bruises, insect bites, frostbite, and wild animal bites!”

Chen Wen said, ”I realized that the hospital seems to excel in treating external injuries.”

Hua Yun nodded, looking at the introductions of the famous doctors and said, ”That’s why our association cooperates with them; for outdoor activities, fractures are not uncommon, and parasites are even more normal. Oh, and our vice presidents are also here, I’ll take you to meet them later.”

Vice presidents?

Chen Wen was stunned for a moment.

After completing the admission procedures, a nurse warmly invited Chen Wen upstairs.

At one point, Chen Wen thought the nurse knew about his hidden identity as a billionaire, or was attracted to his charming demeanor and appearance.

But unfortunately, the nurse was just enthusiastic toward everyone from the Explorer Association.

This also made Chen Wen realize how welcomed their association was here.

On the eighth floor, Hua Yun easily found his room and notified his assistant to bring up the luggage.

Chen Wen followed suit and notified Lin Jiawei and the others.

When Lin Jiawei came up, he looked rather emotional.

”Mr. Chen, after staying in this hospital for a while, you’ll truly become one of the association’s own!”

Hearing this, Chen Wen’s expression turned peculiar.

He always felt that joining the Exploration Association was not very safe.

After settling their luggage, Hua Yun took Chen Wen to visit the vice presidents.

Chen Wen initially planned to bring some gifts, but Hua Yun stopped him.

”They don’t need that stuff, we can just go. This is the treatment for insiders.”

Saying that, Hua Yun opened the door to the first room.

Inside lay a middle-aged man in his forties.

Seeing Hua Yun, the man smiled, ”Yun, I heard you won the championship? How was the Yukon? Fun? Did you walk alongside grizzly bears, striding forward with the northern gray?”

Hua Yun chuckled and said, ”Don’t worry about me, I heard you were sleeping in a tree and fell because you had to pee in the middle of the night and broke a bone? Your experience can be chronicled in the survival subcommittee’s history.”

”The vice president who broke a bone because of a bathroom break, that’s unprecedented, and unlikely to be repeated.”

Hearing this, the man wasn’t upset, just a bit disappointed, ”Getting old, not as useful anymore!”

”If I was ten years younger, I’d have somersaulted down like nothing! Oh, there’s a guest? Who is this...?”

”Chen Wen.”

Hua Yun introduced, bringing Chen Wen forward.

Upon hearing the name, the vice president’s eyes lit up, ”Wow, it’s the Rookie King! You’re really in the limelight, kid!”

Chen Wen laughed and said, ”Mr. Zhao, you’re too kind.”

Zhao Tiancai waved it off, ”Not too kind, among the young people in the association, besides Hua Yun, you’re the most remarkable!”

What do you mean excluding me?

Hua Yun’s gaze turned unfriendly.

Zhao Tiancai thought to himself: You foolish girl, if I included you, wouldn’t he still be the Rookie King?

Saying it like this raises your prestige!

Chen Wen watched their eye exchanges with interest.

”Hahaha, alright, sometime we must survive together, I need to show you that we old folks have our strengths too!”

Zhao Tiancai boasted, but unintentionally agitated his wound.

Immediately he winced in pain.

This vice president’s fracture was in the sternum, making it easy to aggravate when speaking.

”Alright, you take it easy and recover, healing bones takes a hundred days, so don’t expect to move in the first half of the year, and it won’t be until later this year that we can go on a wilderness retreat. If you want to challenge Chen Wen, it might have to wait until next year.”

Hua Yun teased, ”We can’t even say for sure whether you’ll have the courage to challenge him by then.”

Chen Wen added, ”Mr. Zhao, take care and recover well, hopefully we get a chance to survive together.”

Zhao Tiancai waved, ”Alright, go see Qu, his injuries are more severe, you don’t have to worry about me here.”

After leaving the room, Chen Wen looked at Hua Yun, ”I feel like Mr. Zhao doesn’t take things too seriously.”

”That’s just how he is, not very serious. But Mr. Qu is the opposite, he’s a very serious person.”

Hua Yun said, ”When you were in the Desert Death Battle last time, it was him who helped you select equipment.”

Chen Wen realized.

You can usually infer a person’s character from their choice of equipment.

Chen Wen speculated that Mr. Qu’s character was likely very composed and steady.

Walking into the second ward, Chen Wen saw a middle-aged man with a dignified appearance, although he looked as if he were fifty or sixty, Qu Yong was actually just forty-five.

”Mr. Qu, we’ve come to visit you.”

Upon hearing this, Qu Yong raised his head to look over here.

The wound on his left face was bandaged, but from the edge of the bandage, it seemed like something had clawed him.

Very gruesome.

Chen Wen also said, ”Mr. Qu, hello, although this is our first meeting, the equipment selection plan you entrusted Lin Jiawei to give me was very helpful, thank you.”

Qu Yong shook his head slightly, and said, ”My plan was average, but your plan surprised me, can’t say it was helpful, have a seat.”

Chen Wen and Hua Yun found places to sit down.

It was then that Qu Yong said, ”Hua Yun, after being injured this time, I’ll probably move to the second line, do you have any thoughts about the vice president’s position?”

Hearing that, Chen Wen was dumbfounded.

Is this something you can say?

But Hua Yun was used to it, ”I’ll run for it after the wilderness retreat ends.”

Qu Yong thought for a moment, nodded and said, ”Okay, I’ll hold on till then.”

After settling Hua Yun’s matters, Qu Yong looked at Chen Wen, ”I heard you’re planning to participate in Abel’s survival competition?”

Chen Wen nodded.

This was decided when he left the Yukon.

Qu Yong said, ”You can participate in this competition, but the place is very dangerous. My injury was from there, attacked by a leopard at night.”

”The animals over there are very aggressive, and the rivers are full of hippos and crocodiles. Previous data is outdated and doesn’t match up, come see me in twenty days or so, and I’ll prepare some new information for you.”

Chen Wen quickly said, ”Mr. Qu, you should rest, I can manage getting the information myself.”

Qu Yong slightly shook his head, ”I can’t sit idle, I’ll help you organize it, it’s always more reassuring than getting it from others.”

After saying this, Qu Yong seemed to remember something.

”Although the competition rules prohibit direct competition between the contestants, you must be cautious, some people might entice animals to attack, particularly that Japanese guy named Yoshikawa Feng, he’s very sly, you need to watch out.”

Chen Wen was stunned, he truly wasn’t aware of this rule.

”Abel is very ambitious. His competition structure mimics a challenge framework, but there are many loopholes in that challenge’s regulations that he hasn’t fixed. I’ll give you a list in time, remember to read it.”

Chen Wen stood up, solemnly saying, ”Thank you, Mr. Qu.”

Qu Yong shook his head, ”Good luck, you’re the most promising newcomer in the entire association right now, I’m looking forward to your performance. Make good use of your beast taming; your methods are quite unique and might bring wonderful help.”
