Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 308: Chapter 131: Return of the Animals

”Mr. Lv means...”

Chen Wen pondered: ”I can learn from those past gold miners and collaborate with Belmont to mine?”

Lv Guocheng laughed: ”Quite clever, this is the only way for you to gain the maximum benefits.”

He thought for a moment and said, ”How about this, tomorrow—no, after I get up today, I’ll help you organize a team. These people will head to Yukon as soon as possible, and once you confirm your collaboration with Belmont, they’ll assist you in the negotiations.”

”You’re not very familiar with business matters, and if you go negotiate with Belmont alone, you’ll be utterly devoured by him.”

This...

Chen Wen exclaimed: ”Mr. Lv, you’re being so kind to me, this collaboration must include you as well!”

Lv Guocheng chuckled on the other end: ”No need, I’m not in need of money, you keep it. Although the mining map does indicate numerous gold mines, after that gold rush, not much remains. Considering the difficulty of exploiting that land, in an ideal scenario, building a mine might bring in a small sum of several billion over two or three years.”

A small sum of several billion?

How can these two words be connected?

Chen Wen thought in shock.

However, thinking of Lv Guocheng’s outdoor equipment company ranked in the top ten internationally.

Chen Wen suddenly felt that several billion might indeed be a small sum for him.

Lv Guocheng said no more, only: ”We’ll probably have a chance to collaborate sooner or later, but definitely not because of money.”

...

After hanging up the phone, Chen Wen felt a bit emotional.

People truly become wiser with age.

He only mentioned a few words, yet Lv Guocheng saw through it all.

Still, if Lv Guocheng is willing to help, Chen Wen feels it would be better than directly working with Belmont.

”When the time comes, I’ll need to be more meticulous and look carefully.”

Chen Wen reminded himself.

In the following days, Chen Wen cooperated with the show crew to finish the final recording at the hotel serving as a camp.

No matter how it’s done, the show needs to have an end.

In these closing days, Chen Wen specifically inquired about Belmont’s office to prepare for future actions.

Three days later.

Chen Wen received his legal pets—Golden Eagle, Lynx, and Snowy Owl.

The three animals now legally have the right to enter human society.

Of course, if they attack other humans or cause economic damage,

Chen Wen will be responsible.

”Wow, human, you have no idea what we’ve been through these past few days!”

Seeing Chen Wen, the Golden Eagle in the cage immediately started to complain.

The Lynx chimed in nearby: ”Right, human, these days we’ve been tormented by those people in white clothes! They even used those tiny things to poke me! And only me!”

Although the Snowy Owl didn’t react as strongly as the Golden Eagle and the Lynx, its eyes still showed fear from its recent experiences.

”I’ve told the Golden Eagle, the Lynx has to get shots, both of you also need to go through a full check-up.”

Chen Wen looked at the Golden Eagle, feeling frustrated: ”You didn’t tell them?”

The Golden Eagle paused, awkwardly changing the topic: ”Ah haha, I’m hungry, when are we eating?”

”What? You!”

The Lynx couldn’t sit still and immediately pinned the Golden Eagle down with a swipe.

The two were just play fighting, so Chen Wen didn’t intervene.

After a lively moment, Chen Wen suggested: ”Since you can communicate with each other, why not give yourselves names? Stop calling each other Lynx and Golden Eagle.”

Names?

The three animals were taken aback.

”What’s a name?”

”Can you eat it?”

”Why do we need one?”

Each of the three animals had their own questions.

Seeing this, Chen Wen briefly explained the concept of a name to them.

In no time, the three animals understood.

The Golden Eagle immediately said: ”I see, human, your name is Chen Wen, so I’ll call you Chen Wen from now on. But for my name, I’ll call myself Bird King!”

The Snowy Owl, with a look of disdain, glanced at the Golden Eagle: ”Beat me first, then you can use that name.”

The Golden Eagle sheepishly replied: ”Fine, then I’ll be called Eagle King.”

The Snowy Owl nodded: ”That’s acceptable, then I’ll be Bird King.”

The Lynx thought for a moment and said, ”If that female human is called Hua Yun, how about I be called Yun Hua? I’m also female, I think it sounds nice.”

Well, their naming skills are not great.

Chen Wen slapped his forehead: ”Your names, at least the Lynx’s sounds like a human name.”

The Lynx was about to feel proud, but Chen Wen said: ”However, that’s not quite right, you can’t just reverse a person’s name.”

The main issue is, if I call you Yun Hua and Hua Yun hears it, it wouldn’t be good.

Noticing her name choice wasn’t suitable, the Lynx simply gave up: ”Then you name us, we have no idea how to choose a name.”

Chen Wen, too, isn’t good at naming.

He hesitated for a while and said: ”I’m not great at naming either, let me think about it over the next few days.”

”Also, in the Hua Country, where I grew up, there’s an animal just like you, and one that’s a bit different. I’ll try to think of names for them too.”

Chen Wen was referring to the Aegolius and Sharp-shinned Hawk.

”What do they look like?”

Upon hearing there were companions, the Golden Eagle got excited.

Chen Wen said: ”The Sharp-shinned Hawk is a distant relative of yours, though it’s a bit smaller. The Aegolius is a cousin of the Snowy Owl, but very, very small.”

Hearing this, even the aloof Snowy Owl showed interest.

”How small?”

Chen Wen gave a rough measurement of the Aegolius’s size, causing the two raptors to gasp.

”That’s way too small!”

”About the size of my offspring.”

The two raptors started discussing their unseen relatives, while the Canadian Lynx felt a bit uncomfortable.

”Why do they have relatives and I don’t?”

The Lynx asked.

Chen Wen scratched his head: ”Actually, you do have a relative, even a first cousin. It’s just that your relative doesn’t want to leave with me. She’s the mother of two cubs, probably still wandering in the southern desert.”

Upon hearing this, the Lynx asked: ”Can you find her?”

Finding her should be possible.

Chen Wen thought.

”We’ll see when the time comes. Previously, when I looked up bobcat information, it mentioned that once their cubs can live independently, they tend to drive them away.”

”Without the cubs’ burden, I feel the bobcat might join us.”

Chen Wen was a bit unsure.

But the Lynx was quite confident: ”It will, human—no, Chen Wen, you don’t know, after gaining the abilities you shared with us, it’s really hard to fit in with our original group.”

Chen Wen was taken aback.

”We can talk and have the wisdom you mentioned, but our original tribes don’t. If we return to our original environment, survival would be tough, and we’d be lonely.”

Chen Wen drew a breath, he hadn’t considered this problem before.

A community’s tolerance for individuals who stand out isn’t usually strong.

Special individuals can feel alienated from ordinary ones.

Humans, being social animals, might not show this as much.

But in most animals, this might be very evident.

Chen Wen patted his head and said: ”In that case, we definitely need to bring the bobcat.”

While Chen Wen was speaking,

in the Sonora Desert,

in the valley where Chen Wen had once encountered the bobcat,

the bobcat dragged a dead bird through the snow, returning to a lair with only one cat.
