Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 304: Chapter 127: System Upgrade

One day later.

Chen Wen returned to the cave where he stayed on the first day of his escape.

After searching around where the mercenaries died, Chen Wen did not find a desirable cave.

Most of the caves were too small, not even big enough to fit a box of gold.

The larger caves almost all had occupants.

Various black bears and grizzlies hid in them.

Chen Wen even saw a female grizzly and her newborn cub.

Chen Wen did not disturb these animals, so at night he transformed into a grizzly, dragged the sled back to the cave where he rested on the first night.

After transferring all the gold inside, he filled the cave with sticks and branches.

Then he covered it with a lot of snow.

With this setup, even if a person passed by, it would be hard to discover the hidden items.

After hiding the treasure, Chen Wen, with the deerskin map, planned to return to the camp.

Since the mercenaries had left, the camp should have returned to safety.

There was no need to run back to the second town.

But just as Chen Wen was fretting over how to find an excuse to cover up his experiences in the past days.

He saw the flyers sent out by the show crew.

Seeing the flyers, Chen Wen immediately concocted in his mind an excuse of breaking out of prison, surviving for about ten days, and finally returning upon seeing the flyer.

Therefore, Chen Wen built a small shelter in a dense forest suitable for a hideout and cleared an open space, using a lighter to start a fire, creating some signs of life.

After finishing everything, Chen Wen finally set off on the road back to the camp.

...

Another day passed.

When Chen Wen crossed the mine tunnel and returned to the camp.

The people in the show crew only then discovered his return.

Towards Chen Wen, many staff members of the show crew didn’t particularly like him, but they didn’t dislike him either.

They also admired someone who could survive alone in such a place, and they were very curious about Chen Wen and his animals.

However, Hua Yun and Yang Feng were very excited to meet Chen Wen.

Yang Feng hugged Chen Wen excitedly, patting his shoulder: ”Brother, you really have guts! To dare escape alone!”

”Ha, by a stroke of luck, my animal friends came over, so I seized the opportunity to slip away.”

Chen Wen laughed heartily and said to Yang Feng.

Yet Yang Feng felt some grievance: ”But you didn’t call me along, that’s not fair!”

”The situation was urgent at the time, couldn’t manage, couldn’t manage.”

Chen Wen chuckled, skillfully changed the subject.

When Yang Feng asked what Chen Wen had been doing these days, Chen Wen immediately recited the excuse he prepared in advance.

Which made Yang Feng exclaim in astonishment: ”You survival guys are truly amazing! In this godforsaken place, alone, without supplies, and yet managed to survive for more than ten days!”

”And... looking at you, it seems you haven’t lost much weight!”

Chen Wen grinned, not providing an explanation.

But when it came to Hua Yun, Chen Wen felt a sense of being seen through.

Hua Yun always felt Chen Wen didn’t seem like someone who would survive prudently outside, it was her sixth sense.

But with no evidence, she said nothing.

She just reminded Chen Wen to meet with the camp’s head steward, Jiao, and to get in touch with the outside.

Whether it was his two assistants or Liu Yu, they were quite concerned about him.

Hearing this, Chen Wen promptly found Jiao.

Jiao briefly inquired about Chen Wen’s experiences during those days, and Chen Wen recounted them with a straight face, calm heart.

Even including some survival details.

Jiao believed Chen Wen and helped him contact the outside.

Once they got in touch, Lin Jiawei and Jiang Chang, who had been worried these past days, breathed a sigh of relief.

If not for the show crew blocking them, these two might have flown over with the second batch of supply deliveries.

”Alright, I’m fine, you guys don’t worry about me, eh, eat well, and by the way, do tell Mr. Liu for me.”

After Chen Wen finished speaking, he thought for a moment.

It seemed there was no one else to contact.

In the past life, there was a whole bunch of relatives, they could drink from the Little Year to the Lantern Festival every year.

In this life, he seemed to stand alone, and the only ones he could contact were this senior Liu Yu, and a few friends.

”Alright, there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up, ha, rest well, you guys have worked hard these days!”

After Chen Wen finished, he hung up the phone.

Jiao smiled and said: ”No one else to contact?”

”Yeah, thank you Mr. Jiao.”

Chen Wen said politely.

Jiao nodded slightly, saying: ”Then have a good rest for a few days, eat something nice, when the sled team arrives, we’ll leave.”

”Okay.”

Chen Wen made an okay gesture, leaving the camp.

Before leaving, he told Jiao about the three animals, hoping he could find a way to help.

Jiao was a bit puzzled upon hearing this.

”You mean the Lynx, Golden Eagle, and Snowy Owl want to leave with you?”

Chen Wen nodded: ”Of course, so I hope you can discuss with the show crew, don’t worry about our side in Hua Country, I have connections.”

As he spoke, Chen Wen gave a knowing look.

Jiao slapped his forehead: I understand nothing!

But he still said: ”I’ll ask Mr. Belmont for you.”

...

The major task done.

Chen Wen was humming a tune, returning to the tent prepared for him by the show crew, his roommate still being Yang Feng.

During difficult times, the show crew could only provide tents for two.

Chen Wen could understand that.

But just as he reached the tent, the quiet system had some activity.

It seemed like this survival experience was coming to an end?

Chen Wen found a secluded place, closed his eyes, and checked the system.
