Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 329: Chapter 18: Negotiations Concluded

The price negotiation continued late into the night.

The island was quite nice, but the price was significantly inflated.

Chen Wen stated that he wasn’t a fool; this price was much higher than the market rate.

However, Edmond argued that the structures on the island had been built with great care and were ready for future use, which was an advantage other islands didn’t have.

Chen Wen immediately said, ”To be honest, Mr. Edmond, the so-called advantages you speak of are not considered advantages to me.”

”You know, my primary purpose for purchasing this island is not for my own residence; therefore, your buildings seem more like a burden to me. I’ll need to spend time and money to demolish the existing structures and rebuild.”

”So, for me, your price is genuinely too high.”

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s words, Edmond scratched his head, unsure what to say.

The reason he quoted the price so high was because of the buildings on the island.

But if those weren’t valued by the other party, the conversation couldn’t really continue.

At this moment, Belmont, who was on the side, seemed to casually mention, ”Edmond, although we’re old friends, I still have to say for Chen Wen’s sake, the subsequent construction is a heavy burden for him. Whether in terms of transporting materials or building new structures, the costs are extremely high.”

”Your price is really too high.”

Hearing this, Edmond was about to explain.

But he suddenly slapped his forehead as if he remembered something.

After a moment of silence, Edmond said, ”The selling price of the island can be lowered.”

”But Mr. Chen, this has to be based on whether you’re willing to entrust the subsequent construction to our Edmund family.”

Chen Wen didn’t understand this right away.

But Edmond stood up and very formally introduced, ”Our Edmund family has been in the real estate industry for a long time, with rich experience in demolition and construction. If you’re willing to cooperate with us afterward, the island’s price can be further reduced!”

Chen Wen looked at Edmond in amazement, then glanced at Belmont.

He felt like he had been set up by these two.

”Um...I’ll have to think about it.”

Chen Wen said, temporarily ending the topic about price.

He first returned to his room, planning to contact Lv Guocheng to inquire about the situation.

A moment later, Lv Guocheng answered the call.

He was aware that Chen Wen had come to purchase the island.

”Oh, that’s an okay proposition. The Edmund family is a long-established real estate company, considered of above-average standing in the industry. If you can indeed save over ten million, I think it’s worth considering.”

Lv Guocheng estimated the situation and gave his reply.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and said, ”Then why did Belmont suddenly bring this up?”

”Him? He’s also involved in real estate, though on a smaller scale. I guess he’s planning to partner with Edmond to undertake the subsequent construction project on your island.”

Lv Guocheng said, ”To be honest, if I hadn’t had no interaction with the real estate industry, I’d also want a piece of the action. Real estate is extremely lucrative! Especially when it comes to real estate for wealthy individuals like you!”

Chen Wen chuckled, ”I’m hardly what you’d call wealthy, but I didn’t expect Belmont to be so astute, trying to make a bit from me at this point.”

”How could he not be cunning and still do business? After you finish negotiating with them, I’ll introduce you to a few professionals to help review the contract. In terms of the subsequent construction, you might want to talk more with Belmont. He likes making money while also making friends. Since you have the mutual interest in the mineral veins, he’s unlikely to betray you anytime soon.”

After Lv Guocheng finished speaking, he hung up the phone.

After searching online for information about the Edmund family, Chen Wen decided to accept the proposal the next day.

Edmond and Belmont partnered up, managing to secure the renovation order for the island.

Both were quite satisfied.

Meanwhile, Chen Wen’s total purchase cost of the island was reduced by 15 million.

He was also very pleased.

In short, after a series of discussions,

Chen Wen and Edmond reached a purchase agreement.

Once the contract was signed and came into effect, the island named Dream House would officially belong to Chen Wen.

...

Chen Wen returned to the zoo after half a month.

His animals were still happily living there, which comforted him greatly.

The weight loss plan for the Owl had been very successful; it had slimmed down considerably.

The Bobcat and Lynx got along harmoniously, and the Golden Eagle and Snowy Owl had accepted the Red-shouldered Hawk.

Even the Northeast Tiger, Big Orange, was slowly recovering and becoming healthier.

But this time Chen Wen returned with another purpose.

He took a walk around the zoo and found that some animals were missing.

After the New Year, many animals that were temporarily housed would either be released or moved to larger zoos.

For instance, the Sable had been sent to a zoo in Ji Province.

Many staff members had also left, making it noticeably quieter compared to before the New Year.

After all, this was a small zoo with limited funds.

When Chen Wen found Jiang Xue, she was fretting over next month’s budget.

”Director, is this a good time?”

Chen Wen knocked on the door and asked.

Jiang Xue nodded, saying, ”Come in, what is it?”

Chen Wen walked into the director’s office with a smile, saying, ”Nothing much, my project is about to start, and I thought I’d come by to have a chat with you.”

Jiang Xue put the budget sheet aside and smiled, ”What about? Rest assured, in the days you’ve been away, I’ll take good care of your little animals.”

Chen Wen nodded, glancing at the budget sheet and said, ”I’m definitely reassured about that, but I’m here for something else.”

In the time they had spent together, along with rescuing the Northeast Tiger, Big Orange, on New Year’s Eve, Chen Wen felt like he had become friends with Jiang Xue.

He thought for a moment and said, ”I’d like to ask Mr. Jiang for a favor.”

”What is it?”

Jiang Xue looked at Chen Wen curiously; it was the first time she had seen him so serious.

Chen Wen said, ”Well, I’ve been thinking about building a zoo myself.”

Jiang Xue was stunned for a moment upon hearing this.

But soon, she smiled and said, ”That’s a good thing, but building a zoo isn’t as simple as you might think. First, you need enough funds and land...”

Chen Wen nodded, ”I have those, not much money, just over 100 million for now, and I have land—a 100+ hectare island.”

The air instantly went silent.

Jiang Xue softly hissed, ”Strange, how could I have such a realistic dream?”

”Ahem, Director Jiang, this isn’t a dream, and I’m not joking.”

Chen Wen felt a bit awkward.

If this had been before Yukon, even he wouldn’t have believed it.

He showed Jiang Xue the contract representing ownership of the island and the aerial map of the island.

Then he said, ”I made some money abroad before and thought of settling my animals. It’s not convenient to do it domestically, so a foreign friend of mine suggested this solution—to create a private island and turn the entire island into a zoo to accommodate them.”

Chen Wen watched as Jiang Xue’s facial expression constantly changed, finally settling into a look of confusion.

Only then did he say, ”Now that I have the island, I’m preparing for the construction of the zoo. I thought you are a professional, and you have managed this zoo excellently, so I wanted to get your advice.”

”How should the zoo be built to make the animals happy and healthy? I hope you’ll be generous with your guidance.”

Jiang Xue patted her forehead and said, ”Hold on a moment, let me process this...”

After Jiang Xue composed herself, she asked her first question, ”How did you make so much money?”
