Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1450: Chapter 1449: You Thought I Was SABER... (Played Gemstone Workshop Yesterday)

”Ladies and gentlemen, today marks the first match in the semifinals of the Heavenly Cup Competition.”

As the match was about to begin, the hosting mage became excited.

”Making her entrance first is Chloe von Einzbern, representing the faction of the Magical Girls!”

With the host’s introduction, Little Hei somersaulted onto the competition field, and soon, the surroundings were filled with cheers and applause as loud as a tidal wave. Evidently, Little Hei was quite fond of it; she was always outgoing, and now she was happily bouncing around the arena, waving at the audience.

As the competition progressed, the Magical Girls brought by Fang Zheng received considerable welcome at the White Tower. After all, these Magical Girls were merely teens, innocent, lively, and adorable. Unless they were extremely eccentric mages, most people still somewhat liked them.

In fact, the Magical Girls now have their own supporters at the White Tower, and Fang Zheng, having nothing else to do, inquired about it. Among the five Magical Girls, other than Akemi Homura who was initially eliminated and left little impression on the mages, the other little girls have their own fan clubs.

It’s important to note that the mages at the White Tower are mostly older. At least they are adults, whereas Illya, Nanoha Sakura, and the others are only about eleven or twelve years old, so other mages either treat them as sisters, daughters, or granddaughters, making them very much group favorites.

Moreover, the girls themselves are well-behaved, sweet, and polite, so throughout this journey, whether it was the eliminated Sakura, Fate and Illya, or those who advanced like Nanoha and Little Hei, they were very well-liked.

So, cuteness is justice indeed.

”And her opponent is Katrina Troy from the Transmutation faction...”

With this announcement, a towering figure stepped onto the arena, and soon whistles and cheers erupted from the audience.

”Wow.”

Looking at her opponent, Little Hei also widened her eyes in surprise, mainly because this opponent was completely different from the previous ones.

Little Hei’s previous opponents were both male and female, mostly dressed in wizard robes as traditional mages, but this mage was quite different.

Strictly speaking, she didn’t even look like a mage.

Based on appearance, Katrina seemed to be around thirty years old, standing at two meters tall, quite tall among the mages. Moreover, she was not wearing wizard robes but rather a bikini-like outfit, with wrist guards on her arms, a longbow and quiver on her back, a scimitar hanging at her waist, and a necklace made from some unknown material resembling skulls around her neck.

She looked as though she came from an Amazonian primitive jungle tribe.

”Now there’s a show to watch.”

Seeing this, Fang Zheng’s lips curled into a playful smile, while Sakura sitting next to him stared in surprise at Katrina as she entered the arena.

”Teacher, is she a mage too?”

”Correct, Katrina is from the swamp barbarian tribe. Don’t be fooled by her immense height, she is actually the shortest in her tribe, which is why she came to the White Tower to learn magic.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng gestured with his hand.

”However, the speed and strength of the barbarians are comparable to Little Hei’s, so it seems... there’s a battle to be had.”

Fang Zheng had somewhat heard of Katrina’s situation, as the White Tower often produced some outliers, like himself entering as a Paladin, and Katrina as a barbarian. But compared to Fang Zheng, Katrina’s story was more legendary, as before her, there had been no barbarians successfully advancing as mages throughout history.

One reason is the barbarian’s lower cultural background, requiring high intelligence and cultural levels to become a mage. Another reason is that the barbarian’s physical quality seems incompatible with magic power, making it difficult to control magic properly.

Initially, Katrina was the same, but she solved the problem in a very ”barbarian” way—she single-handedly killed a Wind Beast and drank its blood.

Such a behavior is typically suicidal for ordinary people, as the blood of Demon Beasts contains berserk magic power that can lead to poisoning and explosive death. However, Katrina relied on her barbarian physique to survive and gain a magician-like semi-bloodline physique.

After this, she also relied on her effort and physique to become an outstanding Transmutation Mage at the White Tower.

Unlike ordinary ”gentleman who talks but doesn’t fight” mages, Katrina’s combat skills were not inferior to Little Hei’s, and after drinking the Wind Beast’s blood, she also gained the ability to manipulate Wind Elemental, coupled with her abilities as a mage... hmmm, Little Hei really ran into tough competition this time.

And now, we’re in for a good show.

”Ding---!”

With the bell ringing, the battle officially began.

”Swish!!”

Little Hei immediately projected the ”Rule Breaker,” then crouched like a sprinting leopard and dashed towards Katrina. This was her opening move every time, regardless of how the opponent responded, Little Hei believed that with this dagger in hand, all mages are weak!

However, Katrina was clearly prepared for this. One of the gemstones on her bracelet flashed, and the hard ground beneath Little Hei suddenly turned into a muddy swamp.

Turning stone into mud!

Little Hei was not surprised, as several mages had already tried this on her. Once they discovered that Little Hei’s dagger could pierce through all magic, they opted to attack her using environmental factors. Just like dealing with Touma’s left hand; it may have Fantasy Collapse, but a collapsed building can still crush him to death.

But Little Hei was not one to be trifled with!

She liked to eat beef!

”Ha!”

At the moment she realized the ground beneath her was irregular, Little Hei leaped up, and instantly, she transformed into a phantom and disappeared into thin air!

This was the signature skill of the Einzbern Family, Magic Power Transfer!

In just a blink of an eye, Little Hei reappeared behind Katrina, and with her short sword aimed at Katrina’s body once again.

However, at this moment, Katrina suddenly turned and drew the scimitar from her waist!

”Clang!!!”

With a light sound, the sharp scimitar blocked Little Hei’s attack just like that.

”Oh?”

Seeing her attack being blocked, Little Hei hesitated for a moment, then pushed forward forcefully and quickly leapt back with the help of the counterforce. At the same time, Katrina’s scimitar barely swung past Little Hei’s feet, then reversed for another swing forward.

”Interesting, big sister!”

After initially assessing the opponent’s strength, Little Hei’s playful side instantly emerged. This was her first time encountering a mage who could fight her face-to-face, and naturally, she wouldn’t pass up this opportunity. Little Hei casually tossed away the Demon-Slaying Dagger in her hand, then swiftly stretched out her hand to project one black and one white scimitar, spinning on the ground, continuing to charge at the opponent.

Soon, the two were engaged in battle just like that.

”Clang, clang clang clang!!”

Little Hei was like a small and agile leopard, continuously launching attacks around Katrina. Yet Katrina seemed like an elephant, easily blocking Little Hei’s attacks over and over again. She herself had the Divine Protection of the Wind Elemental, so even though Katrina’s stature was larger, she was in no way less agile than Little Hei.

Not only that, because of her long arms and legs, Katrina actually had a better advantage in attack range.

For a moment, this didn’t look like a mage’s match, but rather a gladiator contest.

”This is really...”

Watching this scene, the Chief of Shaping Type felt a bit helpless and amused.

”Isn’t this good?”

However, the Chief Prophet Mage apparently had a different view. He even puffed out his chest, showing off his fourteen abs.

”I think we should’ve done this long ago. Those little rascals only care about speed reading all day, never exercising, and without magic, they turn into a bunch of wasters. This is not what we need for talent! The body, only the body is the basis of magic. Without a strong body, how can one learn magic well?”

While speaking, the Chief Prophet Mage clenched his fist, his arm muscles bulging tightly against his sleeves.

”That’s not what I mean... but......”

Looking at his old friend, the Chief of Shaping Type rubbed his bald head, then shrugged his shoulders.

”Okay, it seems we really need to make some changes.”

Although the White Tower had figures like Fang Zheng and Katrina referred to as ”weirdos,” they were the minority. But in this competition, the Magical Girls’ battle style was almost all physical skills combined with magic, and their prowess was undeniable. This scene was naturally witnessed by the many chiefs.

Perhaps, the thinking of the White Tower indeed needs to undergo change.

”Haa!!”

While the chiefs were contemplating the future of the White Tower and the Magitech Nation, the battle on the field had reached a fever pitch.

Accompanied by a roar, Katrina swung her scimitar, completely forcing Little Hei back. Her scimitar heavily struck the ground, creating a deep crevice in the solid arena floor.

However... this is the moment!

Seeing Katrina’s vulnerability, Little Hei raised her hands without hesitation and suddenly hurled forward. Four scimitars, distinctly black and white, spun and shot out from her hands, surrounding Katrina from all directions.

At the same time, Little Hei appeared behind Katrina, gripping the scimitar tightly, slashing down forcefully!

Crane Wing Triple!

”Swish swish swish!”

The crossing sword light struck Katrina’s body, but it didn’t send her flying like Little Hei had thought. On the contrary, when she struck Katrina, Little Hei only felt as if her blade had hit solid steel and iron!

”Boom!!”

A fierce gust exploded, and in the next moment, Katrina’s surroundings erupted in Magic Radiance, directly blasting Little Hei away. The little girl flipped several times in mid-air before barely regaining balance and landing. However, at this moment, Katrina’s figure was no longer in front of her.

Where’s the person?

Seeing the empty arena, Little Hei was taken aback, and just then, her ears keenly caught the sound of wind.

”Whoosh!”

No sooner said than done, Little Hei instinctively raised her scimitar in front of her and deflected the arrow shooting down from the sky. Only then did she realize the opponent had flown up to dozens of meters in the air, already preparing to shoot with a longbow aimed at her.

I see.

Realizing this, Little Hei finally understood. Clearly, the opponent intended to deal with her like Nanoha faced other mages. The top eight were individual battles, so Katrina could fly into the air, and at that time, whether she shot arrows or used magic, she would be at an advantage.

I see, she’s treating me like a SABER.

Looking at Katrina in the sky, Little Hei’s lips curled slightly. After all, in previous matches, Little Hei hadn’t demonstrated the high-altitude flying ability like Illya and Nanoha, always focusing on close combat, so Katrina evidently treated Little Hei as a close-combat Magical Girl.

However......

”I’m the bone of my sword......”

With a soft chant, Little Hei extended her right hand. Soon, a pitch-black longbow and spiraling arrow appeared in her hand.

Do you think I’m SABER?

Actually, I’m ARCHER!
