Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1422: Chapter 1421: Solomon, I’m Back! (It’s Cooler on the Mountain After All)

As the saying goes, one day in heaven is a year on earth. Fang Zheng has been in the love game world for 17 years, which equates to about twenty days in the Heavenly Dao Palace. A lot has happened in those twenty days.

Pope Fina kept her word and promptly decided to dispatch a large army to the Twilight Frontier to completely eliminate the threat there. Of course, according to the intelligence gathered by Kurumi, it wasn’t smooth sailing at the start. After all, deploying a large army is a troublesome matter, and it was early winter. The Twilight Frontier is far away. If Nymph hadn’t decided to deploy the fleet from the Heavenly Dao Palace to transport personnel and supplies, the Kingdom of the Holy Church might not have agreed so easily.

The Magitech Nation was more straightforward. Although it’s unclear how the Chief of Shaping Type convinced others after returning, the Chief Council unanimously agreed to the expedition against the Twilight Frontier and dispatched a large number of mages and apprentices to assist.

Honestly, Fang Zheng is already quite satisfied with how far things have come.

It’s important to know that mobilizing an army in reality is not like in a game where you can just click and drag, and things fall into place. Financials, food, logistics, and deciding who leads the troops, who is responsible for consultation, who goes to the front line, and who doesn’t—all these personnel issues are a bunch of hassle.

For Fina to gather the army and deploy it in just twenty days is already quite impressive.

Currently, the situation on the front line is quite favorable.

The Swarm’s expansion speed is unparalleled. As of now, it has occupied more than fifteen thousand square kilometers of land.

But this also reveals how troublesome the Chaos Monsters are. In the Mass Effect World, even when a planet is occupied by the Reapers, if Fang Zheng issues the command to lift the restrictions on the Swarm, they can occupy the entire planet in a day at most.

Now, with the Swarm’s restrictions lifted, full speed ahead, it has taken twenty days to occupy just fifteen thousand square kilometers... You know, the Twilight Frontier is in the Arctic Circle and according to the area, it has about 5.6 million square kilometers in total. In twenty days, the Swarm has only occupied 1/560th of it...

This shows that Chaos Monsters are much harder to deal with than the Reapers.

Currently, on the entire front line, there are three main forces.

Fang Zheng’s Heavenly Dao Palace is naturally in the lead. The Azure Fleet is fully deployed, the Swarm has already solidified its lines, and the Cursed Children are also in position. To be safe, Fang Zheng even dispatched a batch of Magical Girls from the Magical Girl World.

As Fang Zheng’s team of ”professionals” grows, the Cursed Children are gradually starting to ”change professions.”

Some have chosen to use Magitech Devices from the Nanoha World and become Magical Girls.

Others continue on the psionic specialization route.

As for the last group...

”It seems pretty good.”

Watching the VF fighter jets screaming across the sky, Fang Zheng nodded in satisfaction. Nymph has specially produced a batch of VF fighter jets from the Mech World, forming a Mech Guard Squad with Anya. They are usually stationed on carrier ships like the Unicorn, and during battle, they deploy alongside the carrier’s unmanned fighter jets for coordinated attacks. According to Nymph, in recent battles, the Round Table Knights led by Anya have performed quite well.

Fang Zheng is very pleased with this, as it’s much better than simple-minded humanoid robots.

Of course, the VF fighters used in the Main World are different from those in the world of Lelouch. In Lelouch’s world, Fang Zheng has to consider the leakage of technological cores between different civilizations. But in the Main World, he integrates everything, and these VF jets are modified with tech from the Mass Effect World.

Their power engines use the Mass Effect Generator, allowing these VF jets to solve anti-gravity issues and perform space jumps like the Azure Battleships. With the psionic field generators obtained from Star Spirit technology, the Cursed Children can diffuse psionic protective barriers to block attacks. Coupled with hard light technology from the Halo World and the energy emission devices from the Azure Fleet itself, each VF jet’s firepower is almost on par with a destroyer. These small, fast jets play a greater role in battle.

”Hey, can you get one of those toys for me too?”

The Golden Dragon Girl happily followed Fang Zheng’s side—since Fina went back to be the pope, there was no need for the Golden Dragon Girl on the other side, so she was sent to the front lines as an agent. She put on a proper front in front of others, but around Fang Zheng, her true colors showed.

”You?”

Fang Zheng glanced at the Golden Dragon Girl.

”You can already fly, and it’s not slower than this. Why do you need a VF?”

”For fun. Don’t you humans ride horses? Then why do you need carriages?”

”...Alright, you convinced me. I’ll get you one later.”

Fang Zheng didn’t mind. Nymph already started a VF production line at the Heavenly Dao Palace, with the Tanji responsible for manufacturing. Although it consumes some materials, for Fang Zheng, giving a Golden Dragon Girl one is no big deal.

”No problem with the Kingdom of the Holy Church’s army?”

”No problem.”

At this, the Golden Dragon Girl proudly waved the phone in her hand.

”This thing you invented is quite useful.”

Looking at the phone in the Golden Dragon Girl’s hand, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but smile wryly.

After Fang Zheng participated in the invention exhibition, phones from the Heavenly Dao Palace rapidly integrated into homes. In the Kingdom of the Holy Church, everyone has one, and naturally, the convenience of phones also grabbed the army’s attention.

Since people in this world haven’t experienced the information theft problems of the information era, most seem unconcerned about phone security and confidentiality. Fang Zheng even suggested making a special communication device for them, but they weren’t interested.

They find it convenient to have a phone, and adding another communication device would just waste time and money...

So, often, when a general wants to issue commands, they’d take out their phone and call, saying, ”Hey, is this XXX? I need your legion to reinforce the eastern side. Call me when you arrive...”

If this were on TV, it’d be more laughable than the infamous hand-ripping scenes.

But since they themselves think there’s no problem, Fang Zheng naturally has no problem either.

After all, where there’s demand, there’s supply. When the other side discovers the problem of information leaks, I can just launch a military-grade encrypted version and make money again, can’t I?

”Beep beep!”

At this moment, suddenly, the terminal of Fang Zheng emitted a series of prompts, followed by the calm voice of Anya.

”Report, Your Highness, we have detected an invasion by the Chaos Knight Order in the northeastern direction, Area 25. We and the Swarm are currently engaging them.”

Along with Anya’s report, Fang Zheng could vaguely hear the roar of explosions and booming sounds coming from that direction. Clearly, the battle was very intense.

”What’s the situation?”

”The enemy outnumbers us, requesting reinforcements. Combat logs are being transmitted.”

”I understand.”

Looking at the combat logs sent by Anya, Fang Zheng raised an eyebrow, then immediately connected to Nymph.

”Nymph, dispatch the third assault squad of the Azure Fleet to Area 25 in the northeast for reinforcements. Inform Fate and Nanoha to prepare for battle, and I will also head over immediately!”

”Yes, Master!”

Ending the communication, Fang Zheng snorted coldly.

This time, I want to see what the Chaos Knight Order can do to me!

In the gray sky, artillery fire flickered.

At the Twilight Frontier, there is no distinction between day and night, and as the Swarm Territory expands, the division between order and chaos becomes increasingly pronounced. Maybe a moment ago it was pitch black, but in the next moment, it could be blindingly bright. In such conditions, engaging in high-altitude combat is rather troublesome.

Anya piloted her VF fighter jet, swiftly skimming through the air. She stared intently at the black dot ahead and pressed the button. In the blink of an eye, forty or fifty missiles trailed long white smoke as they soared from behind the fighter jet, hurtling towards the black dot ahead.

Facing the incoming missiles, the Chaos Knight on horseback was fearless. He tugged on the reins, guiding his warhorse into a turn, then swung his spear vigorously forward. The flash of lightning instantly erupted, enveloping the vast sky ahead, transforming each missile into a brilliant fireball.

The scarlet fighter jet shot out from the fiery clouds like a shadow of steel, once again charging towards the enemy ahead. Meanwhile, the Chaos Knight also tugged on the reins, directing his warhorse with a long spear in hand towards the incoming fighter jet.

In the instant before contact, Anya suddenly pulled up the control stick. The scarlet fighter jet abruptly performed an inverted somersault like a human, while its steel body rapidly transformed. In just a few seconds, it shifted from a fighter jet into a mecha holding a machine gun, sweeping towards the Chaos Knight.

”Ratatatat!!!”

Bullets streaked through the air, blanketing the Chaos Knight in a cloud of dust.

For an ordinary person, under such an onslaught, they would have shattered into pieces. But clearly, the Chaos Knight couldn’t be considered an ordinary person.

”Swoosh—!!”

The dust dispersed as a dim light shot straight towards the head of the mecha. At that moment, the scarlet mecha swiftly retracted, transforming back into a fighter jet to evade the Chaos Knight’s attack, once again putting distance between them with a whoosh.

Simultaneously, the Chaos Knight emerged from the smoke once more, pulling the reins to chase after Anya.

At that moment, a pitch-black figure descended from the sky.

Fang Zheng gripped the Pitch Black Greatsword tightly in his right hand, Primordial Fire blazing intensely, tracing a hundred-meter-long streak across the sky from top to bottom, then slashing at the Chaos Knight ahead!

Detecting the attack from above, the Chaos Knight hurriedly reined in his horse to a halt, then without hesitation, lifted his spear to meet Fang Zheng’s Pitch Black Greatsword!

”Bang!!”

The sword and spear collided. Fang Zheng leaped back, while the magic radiance around him flickered rapidly, transforming into a series of magic missiles aiming at the Chaos Knight. Soon, dozens of magic missiles roared and struck the Chaos Knight’s body, sending him and his horse flying backward.

Done!

Watching this scene, Fang Zheng gripped the greatsword tightly, a smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.

This Chaos Knight wasn’t the one Fang Zheng had fought before, and his strength was relatively weaker. But it wasn’t the strength that concerned Fang Zheng; rather, it was his response in the battle with the Chaos Knight.

Previously, in his fight with a Chaos Knight, Fang Zheng barely managed a draw using all his strength. On the one hand, the opposing force was stronger, and on the other hand, the Chaos Knight was blessed by Chaos. Fang Zheng, on this world, received little favor from order, making it difficult for any attack other than Primordial Fire to harm the foe.

But now, with the favor of a breath from another world, it means Fang Zheng’s magic and other attack methods can also harm the Chaos Knight!

This would make dealing with these troublesome guys much easier.

Thinking of this, watching the Chaos Knight clambering up, embarrassed and covered in dust, Fang Zheng tightened his grip on his weapon, feeling an urge to laugh up to the sky.

Solomon, I’m back!
