Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1448: Chapter 1447: 100 Ways to Dominate (It Was Really Cold Last Night)

Illya’s counterattack was just the beginning.

As a Magical Girl, whether it was Little Sakura, Nanoha, or Fate and Akemi Homura, they had long been trained and experienced in various battles during the Witch’s Night. This kind of melee for them was naturally a piece of cake. Illya used Phantasmal Summoning, while Nanoha’s choice was simpler.

She just flew up!

Flew up!!

Watching Nanoha flying tens of meters high, the mages below were at a loss, not knowing what to do.

Although mages in the Main World possess all kinds of wondrous powers, the ability to fly... is still a challenge for most mages.

Though the Flight Spell itself is just a Third-Level Spell, a Transmutation Mage can reduce it to a Second Rank with ”Swift Flight,” or even make the Flight Spell constant on themselves.

But the problem is, after all, it is still a spell.

Which means, if someone dispels magic while you’re flying... you must hope your bones are tough enough, or you manage to cast a Feather Fall Technique before hitting the ground.

Moreover, the flying speed of the Flight Spell isn’t very fast, at most just barely comparable to a helicopter.

But Nanoha?

Her speed can dogfight with an F22!

To engage in aerial combat with her, isn’t that courting death?

Of course, if everyone united against a common enemy at this time, they might really fly up and compete with Nanoha. But the problem is, it’s currently a melee. Everyone else around you is an enemy. If you fly up, will others stab you in the back?

So now... what should be done?

Looking at Nanoha leisurely hovering in the sky, the mages on the ground found themselves in a dilemma.

Compared to them, the mages in the Fifth Arena wished they had such a dilemma.

But it’s all in vain... because their opponent is Little Hei...

Unlike Nanoha or Illya, Little Hei doesn’t fly, so when the battle started, she decisively chose to go on the offensive, charging straight into the mages with a flurry of punches.

Poor those mages; how could they be a match for Little Hei, a Heroic Spirit? In an instant, several of them were knocked away, while others, frightened by Little Hei’s charge, hurriedly retreated. As a result, the entire arena was in chaos, with Little Hei rampaging like a lion in the African Savannah among a herd of antelopes, easily reaping her enemies.

Of course, not every mage was willing to surrender without a fight.

”Clang!”

As Little Hei swung her blade again, this time she didn’t hit her target. Instead, an azure magic barrier suddenly appeared, standing between Little Hei and the mage. Seeing this, the mage sneered, then pointed fiercely at Little Hei.

Immediately, several Magic Missiles shot out from the mage’s fingertips, speeding towards Little Hei.

Little Hei reacted quickly; upon seeing the Magic Missiles, she executed a backflip to dodge, simultaneously tossing her Black and White Twin Blades forward, spinning to meet the Magic Missiles. With a series of explosive sounds, the newly launched Magic Missiles collided with the Black and White Twin Blades and burst open, covering the unsuspecting mage in a cloud of dust.

”Cough, cough...”

The mage hadn’t anticipated Little Hei’s quick reactions and was caught in the dust cloud. However, his response was swift as he clenched his fists, quickly casting Protective Blades and a series of other spells on himself. As a Protection Mage, he had enough confidence to withstand the opponent’s attack!

At this moment, Little Hei silently appeared behind the Protection Mage. Noticing the Protective Barrier around the mage, Little Hei gave a smug smile.

Then, she raised her right hand.

”Trace on!”

With Little Hei’s whisper, a bizarre, twisted, lightning-like dagger appeared in her hand. She gripped it tightly, thrusting it forward at the mage in front of her!

”Swish!”

With the thrust of the sword, the defenses around the mage shattered instantly, as if they never existed!

”What is this?!”

The mage was dumbfounded, not having expected the opponent to possess such a weapon!

However, it was too late.

The defense, originally as solid as a wall, crumbled in an instant. Before the poor mage could react, a small fist loomed larger and larger in front of him.

”Bang!”

In the next moment, accompanied by a tragic scream, the unfortunate mage was instantly sent flying, landing on the ground unconscious.

”Next!”

After punching her enemy away, Little Hei immediately turned around and rushed toward another mage not far away.

At this moment, chaos reigned across all the arenas, yet the magical girls remained the focal point of attention for the chiefs, aside from Illya, Nanoha, and Little Hei. The other three magical girls also showcased their powerful and extraordinary strength.

Fate started off with a preemptive strike, unleashing a thunderous AOE sweep across the field, knocking down a large group of mages. Those who were lucky enough not to be toppled by Fate’s thunderbolt were soon sent flying.

As for Little Sakura, her choice was similar to Nanoha’s. She first cast a ”shield” on herself, then used ”swift flight” to ascend into the air, following which, cards of wind, water, fire, and earth took turns attacking, leaving the mages crying for help in vain.

The most low-key of them all was naturally Akemi Homura. She didn’t even move a muscle; instead, she utilized her time-pausing ability to escape. Initially, many mages attempted to focus their attack on Akemi, but upon failing to locate her, they swiftly changed their strategy and engaged in a free-for-all.

Meanwhile, Akemi quietly hid in the shadows, awaiting the conclusion of the battle.

The chiefs watched these scenes unfold with keen interest.

”Is this the power of magical girls?”

The Chief of Enchantment School put his glasses back on, eyes fixed on the scene before him. Though it had only been a few minutes, he had already discerned the characteristics of these magical girls.

Fast, precise, ruthless!

Firstly, these magical girls cast magic at incredible speed, without the usual incantations typical of ordinary mages. Moreover, they demonstrated remarkable physical dexterity and rapid reactions, traits many mages lacked.

After all, for most mages, combat is turn-based, typically beginning with a defensive spell, then assessing the battlefield before deciding whether to teleport, release an AOE spell, or dispel magic.

Under such circumstances, the reaction speed of most mages is not especially quick. However, they can usually rely on chain reaction spells or some magic artifacts to ensure safety when ambushed.

But these magical girls excelled not only in magic but also in physical prowess, surpassing ordinary people significantly.

”Lady Colette, are you sure one can become a magical girl just through a ’contract’?”

The Chief of Enchantment School gazed incredulously towards the Chief of the Necromancy Department. Although many in the Main World gained power through contracts with devils, these contracts mainly transformed them with devil-like traits, granting some devil power at most.

Yet, the abilities these magical girls displayed were diverse, with no commonality and extraordinarily powerful...

If such powers required stringent talent and training, that would be understandable. Yet, according to Colette’s previous explanation, becoming a magical girl merely needed a contract?

This seemed even easier than how cultists obtained power since cultists needed to perform sacrifices and rituals for some strength... but none so formidable!

If cultists were this powerful, the Main World would be in utter chaos by now.

”Of course, it’s not that simple. According to that kid’s explanation, one also needs a kind and pure heart.”

”A kind and pure heart......”

Hearing this, a wry smile appeared on the face of the Chief of Enchantment School. The Chief of Shaping Type next to him also let out a long sigh.

”I never expected it; it seems becoming a magical girl isn’t easy after all.”

”But at least we can rest assured.”

The Chief of Spellcraft leaned back in his chair with a nod. Mages’ main concern was the misuse of power. With mages being inherently powerful, if power was abused, the world could face disasters. Generally, schools wouldn’t scrutinize every student’s character, unless they seemed particularly dangerous.

In this regard, the requirements for the magical girl faction exceeded their expectations.

This was reassuring, as despite magical girls having immense power, there was no fear they’d threaten world safety.

”Clang......”

At that moment, the bell rang once again, announcing the end of the first elimination round.

As expected, Illya, Little Hei, Nanoha, Fate, Little Sakura, and Akemi Homura all passed and advanced.

The magical girls’ powers were finally, fully unveiled to everyone at the White Tower.

Their performance inevitably sparked a sensation throughout the White Tower.
