Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1418: Chapter 1417: Something’s About to Happen (It’s Still So Hot This Morning)

”Sora... Haruno, what are you...”

The world watched the scene before them, utterly dumbfounded and at a loss for words. Sora clung tightly to Fang Zheng’s neck, leaned against his shoulder to catch her breath for a moment, then opened her eyes and looked at the others.

”We’ve been seen...”

”Alright, Sora, stop teasing them and go put on some clothes.”

Fang Zheng patted Sora’s head, adjusted his own clothes, and stood up to face the four of them.

”Since you’ve all seen it, I guess there’s no need for me to explain...”

”Why... Haruno...”

Setsuna stared blankly at Fang Zheng, tears streaming down her cheeks.

”Why are you and Sora...”

”Because I like her... Well, that’s not the main point. Alright, since you’ve seen it, I won’t hide it anymore.”

Fang Zheng coughed, then looked at everyone again.

”In fact, after this LIVE is over, Sora and I will be leaving here.”

”What??”

The sudden bombshell from Fang Zheng left the four of them stunned.

”Leaving here... What does that mean?”

”It means leaving here, and possibly never coming back.”

”Wha-why?”

Yukina felt her legs could barely support her.

”Is it because we saw you? Haruno, don’t worry, I will definitely not tell anyone...”

”Me too...”

”Me too, I definitely won’t tell anyone!”

The others hurriedly promised, thinking they had stumbled upon the secret between Fang Zheng and Sora, thus prompting their decision to leave. They were shocked by their relationship but became increasingly fearful at the thought of Fang Zheng leaving.

”It has nothing to do with this... Well, strictly speaking, it’s a little related.”

Fang Zheng waved his hand and continued to stare at the four.

”I think you all know, I’m not an ordinary person.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng snapped his fingers, and the Primordial Fire burst forth from his fingertips. Seeing this, the girls recalled the incredible power Fang Zheng had displayed at Tenjin Elementary before.

”In fact, I’m not from this world, and the time is almost up. Soon, I will leave this world and return to my original one. And I won’t be able to come back...”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, everyone gasped, and Fang Zheng looked at Yukina, then at the world.

”World, Yukina, I’m delighted by your feelings, and I really like you too. But it’s impossible between us...”

”I can go with you!”

The world rushed out, shouting.

”No matter where you go, I can follow you! Haruno!”

”Me, me too...”

”Don’t be ridiculous!”

However, before they could finish, Fang Zheng coldly interrupted them.

”What do you think this is, a romantic elopement like in a TV drama? Sure, you feel like you can sacrifice everything for love right now, but what about in a few years? You need to think carefully; you and Sora are different from us, we have no other family in this world, but you have your own families, parents, siblings. If you leave with me, do you know what will happen?”

Fang Zheng stared at them, speaking word by word.

”You will disappear, perhaps be presumed dead. Your families will be drowned in tears every day, might exhaust every effort to find you, but they’ll never find you in this world, not even your bodies. And neither will you, once you leave this world. Even if homesickness strikes, you won’t be able to call them, send messages, or even glance at them from afar. It’s practically like being separated by life and death, do you truly understand what that means?”

”........”

This time, everyone fell silent. They had indeed been swept away by emotion, believing that nothing mattered as long as it was for love. However, Fang Zheng’s words slapped them into realization. Especially Yukina, who came from an ordinary but blissfully happy family. Her parents treated her well, and she had an adorable younger brother.

If she suddenly disappeared, how much pain would that cause her family? Just thinking about it sent chills down Yukina’s spine.

She really liked Fang Zheng, but if sacrificing her family was the choice...

”It’s already late, go back home.” Fang Zheng spoke again.

”If there’s anything, we can talk about it tomorrow.”

”..........”

The four of them, like puppets, dumbly followed Fang Zheng’s instruction and turned to leave. The shock they felt was immense—not only discovering the secret between Fang Zheng and Sora, but also learning they would be leaving this world. They were overwhelmed by all this information.

”Hoo...”

Watching them leave, Fang Zheng closed the door and sighed in relief. Sora cheerfully came over, holding onto his arm.

”You’re amazing, brother, just a few words and you left them speechless.”

”I used to make a living off my words, after all. If I couldn’t speak, how could I... attract investments?”

Fang Zheng wiped his sweat, confessing he was a little nervous inside. But luckily, his years of thick skin paid off, and he quickly sent the little girls back home. It was a kind of shock therapy; when shocked by one piece of news, delivering another shocking news would lessen the earlier impact.

It’s like comparing bad news and worse news. In contrast, the former might actually become good news.

At that moment, Yukiko slipped in through the door crack, curious as she looked behind her and frowned.

”Brother, sister.”

”Hm? What’s wrong?”

”That short-haired sister from before... she seemed to have the scent of Tenjin Elementary on her.”

”What do you mean?”

Hearing Yukiko’s words, Fang Zheng was taken aback for a moment, while Yukiko shook her head.

”I don’t know either...”

”Hmm...”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng frowned slightly.

”Forget it. Let’s talk about it when we see them tomorrow.”

It was already late.

Without knowing how she got home, the world staggered back, had dinner, lay on the bed, and then started to daydream.

Everything that happened today was like a rollercoaster ride for her, leaving her temporarily unsure of how to handle it. Fang Zheng and Sora’s affairs, Fang Zheng was leaving...

Leaving!

If anything frightened her the most, it was this.

Fang Zheng was leaving, never to return.

What would they become at that time?

”Hehehe...”

Just then, a sharp, tiny voice rang out, startling her.

”Who’s there?”

She jumped up, looked around nervously, clutching the amulet in her hand. If they learned anything from the Tenjin Elementary incident, it’s that ghosts really exist. Therefore, she made time to get an amulet from the shrine for protection.

After all, she couldn’t expect Fang Zheng to always be by her side, could she?

”Hehehe... hehehe...”

However, the laughter lingered in her ears, making her even more nervous and uneasy. Instinctively, she reached out to grab her phone to call Fang Zheng. But the next moment, as she reached for her phone, she felt something cold. She quickly turned her head, only to be shocked—she was holding a kitchen knife!

And it was the same knife she had thrown away before!

”Ahhhh!”

She screamed and tried desperately to throw away the knife, but it felt as if it were glued to her hand with superglue, impossible to shake off. Meanwhile, the laughter grew louder and louder.

”Mom! Mom!!”

She hurriedly called for her mother, but surprisingly, there was no response from the room, as if there were no other person there but herself.

Then, the bedroom door slowly opened.

”----!”

Feeling the door open behind her, she shivered and gingerly turned around to look towards the doorway.

It was empty.

”... Mom...?”

She trembled, calling out, and at that moment, a hand suddenly pressed down on her shoulder.

The next moment, a terrifying face appeared right in front of her.

Simultaneously, her vision went dark, and she fainted.

The next day, it was still raining.

The rain that started late at night hadn’t stopped by morning. Fang Zheng glanced at the gloomy clouds outside and frowned. At that moment, the announcer’s voice came through the television.

”News flash: At 3 a.m. today, a sports car speeding on the mountain highway went off a cliff. The driver, Zeyue Zhi, died on the spot. Police issued a notice urging drivers to exercise caution...”

”Sora, we should go.”

”Okay.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s call, Sora switched off the TV with a ”click” and followed him out the door.

”Hmm... quite strange.”

At the school gate, looking at the quiet campus before them, Sora involuntarily frowned.

”Why is the school so quiet today?”

Judging by the time, it should be the peak time for school, yet oddly, from the house to the school gate, they hadn’t encountered a single student besides themselves.

”Could today be a holiday?”

”No way, today’s Wednesday.”

Fang Zheng specifically took out his phone to check the date and time.

”Anyway... let’s go in and take a look.”
