Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1432: Chapter 1431: I’m Not Targeting Anyone in Particular, I’m Just Saying... (Dragon Gate Profanity)

For Fang Zheng, having five hundred thousand guests is a piece of cake. After all, the residents of the Heavenly Dao Palace have already exceeded a million, and with just a command from him, bringing in five hundred thousand people is no big deal. However, the system clearly anticipated this issue, so it imposed other restrictions on Fang Zheng for task completion.

As it stands, Fang Zheng just took over, and this amusement park can only accommodate a maximum of a thousand visitors per day. That’s not the key point; the key is that only when the satisfaction of these thousand visitors exceeds ninety percent will the visitor cap rise to five thousand. And the same goes further; only when the satisfaction level of these five thousand visitors exceeds ninety percent will the cap rise again.

Moreover, during the task, Fang Zheng is unable to use the technical resources of the Heavenly Dao Palace to upgrade the amusement park. This means he must rely on the existing facilities and equipment of Amagi Brilliant Park to attract five hundred thousand guests.

And ensure their satisfaction level surpasses ninety percent.

Clearly, this demand was concocted by the system specifically for Fang Zheng. After all, everyone living in the Heavenly Dao Palace listens to him, and if he ordered them to come, they’d do it even if it meant life or death, no matter how rundown it was.

But satisfaction is a very subjective matter. The kids may be willing to come, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be satisfied.

However, Fang Zheng didn’t accept the task immediately. When invited by Latifa, he stayed silent for a moment and then gave her a ”I’ll give you an answer tomorrow” response, before leaving with the others.

”Bro, do you plan to help them?”

On the way back, Sora asked curiously, and Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders.

”I want to see the situation before deciding.”

If it was merely an issue of equipment or funding, Fang Zheng might have accepted the task on the spot. But after a round of inspection, he realized the biggest issue with the amusement park wasn’t anything else but the people.

The staff here were all just loafing around; they had no drive or enthusiasm.

This reminded Fang Zheng of those state-owned enterprises and stores from his childhood. Before private stores existed, all shops were state-run, and the clerks were almost regal. They couldn’t care less about customers, and the same went for butcher shops. Nowadays, you can choose and pick whatever meat you want from a butcher. Back then, what you got was at the clerk’s discretion; if they liked you, you’d get something good, if not, something worse. They had an attitude of ”you’re lucky I’m even giving you meat; buy it or leave,” which could truly infuriate customers of the time.

In today’s world, no clerk would dare to give customers an attitude. If they did, they’d get complaints left and right. But back then, no one got laid off from state enterprises, and resignations weren’t even an option, nor did clerks earn any commission from sales. They had fixed salaries, so whether the store was bustling or not didn’t matter to them. They’d rather have fewer customers and more leisure, maybe knit in their downtime.

For clerks back then, ”the customer is always right” was just a farce. Customers were more like pests.

And now, the park’s staff had that same vibe. After hearing Latifa out, Fang Zheng understood that most of the employees here were residents of Maple Red Paradise from the Magic Kingdom. In essence, Amagi Brilliant Park was a state enterprise.

So the people here lacked work enthusiasm, and Latifa inviting him to manage the park......

Hmm........ it’s like trying to break the iron rice bowl and push for market economy reforms.........

Fang Zheng wasn’t too keen on such things. By the time he graduated, the market economy was already liberalized, and he’d only heard stories from his family and older folks about those times. To reinvigorate such deeply rooted state enterprises, only protagonists from web novels like ”Rebirth in the 00s” or ”Super XX Power Nation” could do it.

Yet Fang Zheng had little interest in that. He simply wanted to run a theme park, and if it got too troublesome, he’d rather not bother.

Although he planned to return and consult the ”Ratziel” for insights before making a decision.

One night passed.

The next morning, when Fang Zheng returned to the entrance of Amagi Brilliant Park, he was fully aware of the situation there.

”Lord Fang Zheng!”

Seeing Fang Zheng appear, Latifa showed a pleased smile, but Fang Zheng looked quite serious.

”Don’t get too excited, Latifa. I agreed to this mostly as a favor to you, but frankly, I’m not sure if your employees are even worth saving.”

Fang Zheng speaks very directly, and he’s not afraid of being blunt. Despite having traveled through many worlds, including Japan, Fang Zheng never liked the subtlety of Japanese nuances.

It’s a waste of time, plain and simple.

”So, I need to conduct a test first.”

”...A test?”

”Exactly.”

Facing a curious Latifa, Fang Zheng nodded slightly.

”I need you to gather all the amusement park employees here within ten minutes, every single one.”

”Alright.”

Although she didn’t quite know what Fang Zheng intended, Latifa nodded and quickly relayed the message.

Despite her seemingly young age, Her Royal Highness appeared to have some clout; within ten minutes, all of the amusement park staff had gathered.

As previously discussed, Latifa first stepped forward to speak to them, but everyone present looked disinterested, half-dead. The truth was, they all understood what Latifa was talking about. Amagi Brilliant Park had been without visitors for some time now, and if they couldn’t attract five hundred thousand visitors in the next three months, the park would have to shut down, and they would all go their separate ways.

Thinking about that, no one could really feel optimistic.

Not knowing what to say to her despondent staff, Latifa paused, and at this point, Fang Zheng stepped out.

”Alright, leave the next part to me.”

”Alright, Lord Fang Zheng.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Latifa also breathed a sigh of relief, then stood to the side, curiously watching Fang Zheng. She wanted to see what he would say, while Fang Zheng was standing on the balcony, coldly gazing at the amusement park employees below, and then he spoke.

”Hello, my name is Fang Zheng.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, the amusement park’s employees finally looked up at him, and Fang Zheng sneered and continued.

”I think you’ve all heard from Latifa that I will be your manager for the next three months. To be honest, before this, I was actually reluctant to accept this invitation. Because before, I had brought my little girls to your amusement park for a day, do you know what my impression was?”

At this point, Fang Zheng raised his hand.

”I’m not targeting anyone, I’m saying all of you here are trash.”

”What...!?”

”What did you say, kid!?”

Hearing this, the employees, who had been bewildered before, were now instantly enraged.

When had they ever been scolded like this, right to their faces!? Even Latifa was looking at Fang Zheng uneasily, not knowing what to say, but Fang Zheng just gestured to her not to worry and continued.

”If not trash, then useless. Do you know? We played for an entire day, all day, going through all the rides in the park, and what happened? Not a single one was satisfactory, except for the croquette we ate at the end.”

At this point, Fang Zheng pointed at Latifa.

”Latifa asked me what I thought of this amusement park, and my answer at the time was... turning this place into a croquette-themed restaurant might have a better future.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng stared coldly at the employees below.

”What is an amusement park? An amusement park is a place for everyone to have fun and be happy. But what about you? Look at yourselves, each and every one of you, who cares about the guests? What do you treat the guests as? Let me tell you, the little girls who came with me all had the same thought after the tour, and that was they wouldn’t come a second time! And I’m the same, are you running an amusement park? Or are you just fooling us guests like idiots?”

”.........”

This time, no one spoke again; everyone exchanged looks and remained silent.

”I know you have difficulties, it’s indeed desolate with no guests coming, perhaps there are financial issues. But this is no reason for you to vent your anger on the guests. You don’t think about how to wholeheartedly attract guests, even when guests do come, you still act half-dead, who are you putting on a show for? Guests are just guests! They only care if they have fun and enjoy themselves at the amusement park, do they care if you close down? Do they care how much salary you earn? Do they care about your life and death?”

At this point, Fang Zheng suddenly waved his hand.

”They don’t care. To be honest, I don’t care either, because these are your own issues! If you don’t care, then no one else will. You deserve to be miserable! Understand?!”

”.........”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Latifa was surprised, her mouth wide open. She hadn’t expected Fang Zheng to be so merciless, and even more surprisingly, those employees who usually complained even in front of her didn’t utter a word under Fang Zheng’s rebuke, each one lowering their heads and not daring to take a deep breath.

”To be honest, I don’t know if you can be saved, so I’m giving you one last chance.”

Fang Zheng crossed his arms, glaring at the people before him.

”Three months, I want to see to what extent you are willing to go for your own survival. Starting tomorrow, the entire park will be closed. My first order is to clean, maintain, and service all amusement facilities and environments. Anything that can’t be used will be shut down; all broken goods must be fixed. I don’t want to sit on a roller coaster only to have the tracks dislocate! After all this is done, we’ll reopen and welcome the first batch of guests.”

At this point, Fang Zheng’s lips curled slightly.

”Oh, by the way, there’s one more thing... Yukiko.”

”Yes, brother.”

As Fang Zheng spoke, a little red-clad ghost girl quietly emerged from the air beside him, sitting on the railing, smiling as she looked at the crowd below.

The sudden appearance of Shizaki Sachiko didn’t particularly surprise the employees, as they were all residents of the Magic Kingdom and had seen plenty of incredible things, so this wasn’t much to them.

”Starting tomorrow, I will also be adding a private entertainment facility inside the park.”

At this point, Fang Zheng showed a self-satisfied smile.

He had said what he needed to say and done what he needed to do, but that wasn’t enough. Introducing a competitive mechanism was also key. These people were not particularly skilled but certainly had strong tempers; they needed someone strong to push them so they’d understand that the things they’re clinging to have long been worthless, and only then they’ll know what it means to work hard.

Fortunately, while the system prohibited Fang Zheng from using the Heavenly Dao Palace’s technology and materials, it didn’t stop him from deploying personnel. Shizaki Sachiko was now Fang Zheng’s Magical Girl, but her abilities were different from the others’. Perhaps it was because Shizaki Sachiko was once an evil spirit, that after becoming a Magical Girl, the skills she mastered were all related to illusions.

In the terms of the Main World’s mage system, Nanoha, Fate belong to the Shaping Type mages, Little Sakura to Transmutation, Shisei to Prophecy System, Akemi Homura and Mami Tomoe to Enchantment School, and Shizaki Sachiko belongs to Illusion Arts.

Not to mention, it was not a problem to use the abandoned buildings here to set up another Tenjin Elementary.

After all, many of the amusement facilities here needed no makeup; just dimming the lights a little bit would make them a vivid haunted house prototype.

”In the next three months, let me see how much effort you’re willing to put in for your survival!”
