Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1423: Chapter 1422: I’m Here to Settle the Score!

”Anya, lead the others to retreat and cooperate with the Swarm to eliminate the Chaos Beasts on the ground. Leave this to me.”

Hovering in mid-air, Fang Zheng glanced at the battlefield below and then quickly issued his command. On the ground, countless Chaos Beasts clashed with an equally endless swarm, engaged in relentless combat. Chaos Beasts knew nothing of a ”ceasefire,” and neither did the swarm.

In truth, since Fang Zheng and the others invaded the Twilight Frontier from the very first day, aside from that battle between Fang Zheng and the Chaos Knight when they cleared the surrounding Chaos Monsters completely, the Chaos Beasts had been crazily launching assaults on them without stopping for even a moment. It was only thanks to the swarm; had it been any other lifeforms, they probably wouldn’t have been able to withstand the relentless attacks by the Chaos Beasts, let alone reverse and conquer such vast lands of the Twilight Frontier.

”Order the Spear of Aton to stand by in low Earth orbit. Let Nanoha, Fate, Anzu, and Homura lead a team of Magical Girls for combat! Activate the Doomsday Weapon and clear out these mongrels!”

The Recombination Device had been destroyed in the previous battle against the evil dragon, and according to Nymph, it still hadn’t been repaired. For this, Fang Zheng felt quite helpless, as if the Recombination Device were fixed, dealing with these Chaos Beasts would be much more assured.

But for now... the Azure Fleet could only fry glass in low Earth orbit.

Fang Zheng quickly issued a series of commands, then gripped the Greatsword tightly in his hand, once again looking at the Chaos Knight before him. He wasn’t worried about any mistakes in battle commands; after all, in the Heavenly Dao Palace, Fang Zheng rarely commanded battles directly anymore. He was more like the U.S. President in that position --- you see, the President also serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, but generally speaking, Presidents rarely directly strategize combat themselves; their significance is to decide whether to use the black leather suitcase that often accompanies them.

So it is for Fang Zheng, as within the Heavenly Dao Palace, there are too many world-ending weapons, so Fang Zheng holds the final decision-making authority over these weapons. Only with his consent can these weapons be unlocked for use. Conversely, if Fang Zheng doesn’t approve, then they cannot be used.

Although strictly speaking, Fang Zheng does not have any subordinates or underlings particularly skilled in military warfare, at least Nymph is a combat Artificial Angel, and the swarm and Mind Models are also the most qualified warriors, so Fang Zheng only needs to authorize, Nymph gives the command, and everyone else knows what they need to do.

”...........”

At the moment Fang Zheng finished issuing the commands, the Chaos Knight had also stood up once again, gripping his Long Spear tightly, glaring at Fang Zheng with blood-red Radiance flickering within his helmet.

Then, the Chaos Knight tugged on his reins abruptly, urging his horse forward as he raised the Long Spear in his hand, charging at Fang Zheng.

This time, looking at the Chaos Knight before him, Fang Zheng revealed a triumphant smile.

Through the previous battles, he had come to a certain understanding of this sensation.

Initially, when he fought the Chaos Knight, if one must describe it, their battle was like ice clashing with ice; the difference being Fang Zheng’s ”ice block” was frozen in a refrigerator, whereas the opposite ”ice block” was the millennia-old ice of the Arctic, differing in origin but identical in essence.

In such a situation, quality and strength became key, and Fang Zheng was evidently inferior in this regard, which was why he was caught off guard.

However, this time, the situation had completely changed. If the Chaos Knight was the millennia-old ice, then Fang Zheng here was something entirely different: perhaps steel, perhaps wood, possibly aluminum alloy... In short, something completely different!

Absolutely incompatible with each other!

And because of this, the Chaos Knight’s Chaos Force Field could no longer render immunity against Fang Zheng’s attacks!

And for Fang Zheng, that was enough!

”Hiss———!”

The warhorse galloped as the Chaos Knight rode towards Fang Zheng, raising his Long Spear in his hand and thrusting with force. On the dark Spear shaft, a series of lightning flashed incessantly, illuminating the originally gloomy sky.

Facing the Chaos Knight before him, Fang Zheng unhesitatingly raised the white Dagger gripped in his left hand, pulling the trigger at the Chaos Knight!

”Bang!!”

The gunshot rang out, and the Chaos Knight, along with the warhorse beneath him, suddenly jolted at that moment, then collapsed, falling straight to the ground. Simultaneously, Fang Zheng gripped the Pitch Black Greatsword with his right hand, the scorching Primordial Fire appeared from its blade, and he thus gripped the Greatsword tightly, swinging it at the Chaos Knight before him!

”———!!!”

The blade burning with fierce flames cleaved through the Chaos Knight’s horse’s head effortlessly as if slicing through butter, then swept through, splitting the Chaos Knight along with his horse in half. At this moment, the scorching, explosive flames erupted violently. The Chaos Knight, cleaved into four pieces, flew backward, leaving four fiery red scars like a meteor across the sky, then ”pop” exploded like fireworks, disappearing without a trace.

”The fireworks blossomed into the night sky with a pop...”

Watching the vanishing fireworks in the distance, Fang Zheng hummed ”Fireworks Display,” then turned his head toward the front not far away. From the dark horizon below, several figures emerged silently, also riding warhorses and holding Long Spears.

”Just in time...”

Fang Zheng griped his Greatsword in reverse, made a sword flourish, then pointed forward.

”Last time that damn jerk who gave me hell hasn’t shown up yet, so I’ll start with you first...”

With these words, Fang Zheng grinned.

”Besides, I’m not fighting alone here.”

As Fang Zheng’s voice fell, suddenly, a chorus of dragon roars sounded, and from the clouds behind Fang Zheng, a group of Flying Dragons flew out with Anzu in the lead, holding a Long Spear triumphantly as she stood atop the dragon’s head, gazing into the distance at Fang Zheng.

”Boss, we’re here to help!”

”Let’s go together!”

With Fang Zheng’s order, the magical girl riding a flying dragon charged alongside him towards the Chaos Knight Order opposite.

At the same time, in the core control room of the Spear of Aton, near Earth’s orbit.

”The master has engaged the Chaos Knight Order, repeating, the master has engaged the Chaos Knight Order.”

Watching the battle footage in silence, Nymph gently waved her hand in the air, separating and merging screens as she swiftly issued commands.

”Iona, listen to the command, all battleships position themselves in near-earth orbit, share coordinate values, prepare to initiate main cannon volleys, Spear of Aton, orbital bombardment module activated.”

”...........”

Holding a black rabbit, sitting on a nearby chair, Sora stared wide-eyed at the scene before her, unsure of what to say.

Before following Fang Zheng to this world, she had already heard from him that they were in the midst of a war, but she hadn’t imagined it would be so... terrifying!

Indeed, whether it’s the current spacecraft in near-earth orbit or the ferocious demon beasts on the ground, everything gives Sora an unreal feeling. Although she had also experienced Tenjin Elementary, it was more of a ”surreal” setting, but now, everything before her seems completely detached from ”reality.”

She should do something.

Seeing everyone busily working, Sora wanted to help but didn’t know what to do. She was just an ordinary high school student without any special skills, even though she had awakened the Dragon Veins, she hadn’t even fought before, let alone participated in battle.

”Oh my.”

Just then, a voice sounded beside Sora.

”Isn’t this the little sister? What are you doing here?”

Upon hearing this voice, Sora looked up to find a slender girl in a black uniform with black twin ponytails smiling at her. Her one eye was covered by black bangs, revealing a vibrant red pupil, making Sora feel somewhat tense just being stared at.

”Ah, you are... Miss Tokisaki?”

”You can just call me Kurumi.”

Casually speaking, Kurumi sat beside Sora.

”Why are you so distressed? Is something wrong?”

”Um, this...”

Holding the black rabbit, Sora uneasily began speaking.

”I, I want to help, but don’t know what to do...”

”Help?”

”Yes, everyone is fighting, right? So is my brother, but I can only watch from the side...”

”I’m also watching from the side, aren’t I? Everyone has their own role, you just need to stay here and watch.”

Kurumi smiled at Sora as she spoke. Meanwhile, Nymph’s voice rang out again from ahead.

”Counting down five seconds, four, three, two...”

Following Nymph’s command, the orbital cannon systems on the sides of the Spear of Aton quickly unfolded, aiming at the distant Arctic Circle. At the same time, several battleships hovering in near-earth orbit slowly turned, aligning their main cannons with the Arctic Region. The dazzling radiance at the cannon muzzle gathered, waiting for the moment of final brilliance.

”Fire.”

Upon Nymph’s order, beams shot out from the cannon muzzles, bombard the ground. The orange-red radiance looked like a paintbrush painting on the indistinct Arctic terrain, shining with a hint of red light, as if someone used a red spray gun to create a tiny red dot.

However, for those within, it was an entirely different experience.

Scorching flame descended from the heavens, illuminating the earth.

An immense amount of energy instantly penetrated the thick and solid surface, causing the ancient ice-covered ground to deform as if softened bread. The blazing red lava burst from the hollow, mercilessly consuming all upon the earth.

Chaos Beasts screamed and roared, trying to escape and resist. But no matter how they struggled, they could not withstand the force of nature, millions of Chaos Monsters cried out as they were sucked into crevices and torn apart by lava and high-energy explosions.

The earth turned red, and the oppressive heat made breathing difficult. Those further back, the Paladins and priests, had to summon the Holy Light to barely withstand the doomsday-like impact from afar.

As the radiance faded once again, looking to the horizon, everything had turned to charcoal, no Chaos Beast visible. Their bodies had been completely scorched, entirely decayed, returned to dust and ashes.

Then came the swarm, flooding the land like a tide, covering everything in the blink of an eye.
