Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 733: Chapter 732 The Secret Hidden Behind This

Fang Zheng now truly felt that the world was just too marvelous.

He had only whimsically decided to check out the situation beyond this planet, but he never expected that he would unwittingly stumble upon a great secret related to the life and death of this world... it was like an adventurer taking a shortcut, going off the path to pee in the bushes, and accidentally triggering the main quest to save the world.

It was utterly illogical and unscientific.

More importantly...

”What do you guys think, if I hand over this recording to the Sanctuary Church, will they treat me as a heretic and kill me, or will they kill me to keep me quiet?”

Looking at the audio file in his hands, Fang Zheng was completely speechless. Although he had suspected that the Goddess of Order was not exactly respectable when he was in the ladies’ bathhouse, he didn’t expect her to be such a mess...

Despite having many sarcastic remarks he wanted to make, Fang Zheng had to admit that he was able to glean some information from the Goddess of Order’s message.

First off, from the message, it was clear that the Goddess of Order was no longer in this world. As to whether she had died or left, Fang Zheng wasn’t sure, but clearly, the Goddess of Order... or rather, this infuriating Goddess of Order was not ”silently protecting this world” as the Sanctuary claimed.

Also, she mentioned ”our enemy,” which, from the current standpoint, seemed to refer to Chaos. And the Goddess herself said that the system she left behind, which basically invited everyone to ”ascend” together, was meant to carry out a wide-scale AOE on the entire planet when things became irreparable... Hmm, from a certain perspective, the hypothesis that the Goddess of Order came from some advanced cosmic civilization could basically be confirmed.

Besides...

”Nymph, do you have the analysis results for these things yet?”

”Yes, Master.”

Nymph nodded her head.

”Based on the analysis, these ’satellites’ are primarily used for fixed ground attacks, but their main task is to provide shielding.”

”Shielding?”

”Or rather, isolation.”

Nymph stretched her hand forward and made a swiping motion, and soon enough, a series of information and data that Fang Zheng could only half understand appeared on the screen.

”They are made of a very mysterious metal that can absorb fluctuations and rays, whether it’s internal or external. In other words, if we rely solely on instruments or other means for detection without using our eyes, we would find that there appears to be nothing here, just a dark expanse of sky. And if someone tried to send a signal from the ground into outer space, it would also be absorbed, making it impossible to receive any response.”

”Wait, so, there’s no sun and moon out there either?”

Fang Zheng looked out the window and, indeed, he saw no sign of the sun or moon that should have been around him.

”Of course, according to my analysis, these satellites can also simulate artificial suns and moons, and even...”

”The stars, right?”

At this point, Fang Zheng finally understood what those stars he saw from the ground were all about; it seemed they were not real stars, but these bizarre gadgets... The question, though, was why the Goddess of Order would want to construct such a large cage to encase this planet?

But before that...

”Where does the energy for the artificial sun come from?”

For the life of him, Fang Zheng couldn’t see how these things seemed to have the capacity to simulate the energy foundation of a sun.

”It operates in a way similar to the Goddess’s Space, with a strong connection to this planet, drawing the Power of Order from the planet to maintain its functioning.”

”So, what the Sanctuary says is true, that the world would be doomed without the Power of Order?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng rolled his eyes. It now appeared that the Sanctuary wasn’t just spreading alarmist talk; this planet’s sun and moon depended on the Power of Order for their existence, and if the Power of Order were to fail... Mm, Fang Zheng finally understood why the land of Chaos was always dark, without sunlight, and freezing cold.

Because the sun in that place wasn’t a sphere at all!

The situation was becoming increasingly complex.

”What should we do next, Master? Should we let Neptune release a few probes to check things out?”

”Hmm..........”

Faced with Nymph’s question, Fang Zheng pondered for a moment before shaking his head.

”No, let’s first figure out exactly what’s going on. That Goddess sounded annoying, but she did say that we must pass a trial before we can leave this planet. The fact that a seemingly frivolous Goddess could say something so serious means there must be a reason behind it. Besides, don’t you think this isolation is too extreme?”

Indeed, a metal substance that could isolate and absorb all radiation waves, used to blockade an entire planet. Fang Zheng didn’t think it was to trap prey inside; on the contrary, it seemed more like a means to help them avoid threats from the outside.

It was like how humans would cage animals in a zoo, but in the ocean, they would cage themselves—to guard against the possibility of a great white shark suddenly appearing from somewhere.

So far, Fang Zheng was more inclined to believe that the ”cage” was closer to the latter purpose.

Therefore, until he confirmed whether there were any great white sharks or Krakens lurking in the ”deep sea,” it was wiser for him to proceed with caution. Even though Fang Zheng’s fleet was indeed far superior to the current civilization of the world, who knew if the monsters outside might be even more formidable? Knowing both oneself and the enemy was the key to victory; and as a Mage, Fang Zheng certainly wasn’t one to blunder through life.

”In any case, let’s go back first.”

And so, an anticlimactic trip came to a hasty conclusion. Upon his return to the Heavenly Dao Palace, Fang Zheng immediately gathered his people to discuss the sudden troubling issues.

Of course, the first thing he needed to clarify was...

”Nymph, do you know the correct location of those coordinates?”

”Of course, Master, I have it pinpointed,”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Nymph nodded and then pointed to a spot on the map displayed on the screen.

”In the hinterlands of the Western Continent... The specific location is roughly in the center...”

”So, it’s in the Kingdom of Flame?”

Seeing the map, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but smile. It was a good opportunity for him. As a Paladin, since he had received a divine oracle, he naturally had to see what kind of trial awaited him there, right?

But considering the dangerous and unknown situation there, he would need an army... This, by the Goddess of Order and for the sake of justice, whoever dared to block his way would have their heads chopped off!

Hmm, Fang Zheng felt that he was getting more and more familiar with the routine of a Paladin.

”Looks like I’ll have to speak to Mirune sometime soon; it’s time for the Zerg to start expanding their territory in the Main World.”

Fang Zheng made a decision offhand, then quickly refocused on the initial problem at hand.

”So about the ’dissolution operation’ of the Stone Village... will it damage this planet?”

In response to Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Nymph shook her head again.

”The impact will be negligible... But it’s not to say there won’t be any at all; at least, the cavity left after that stratum detaches will be filled by the backflow of seawater. It won’t affect the planet itself.”

”Good.”

Hearing the conclusion from his ”Chief Scientist,” Fang Zheng didn’t hesitate and promptly issued an order.

”That settles it then. Set the Stone Village off to the near orbit for the dissolution operation and also have it monitor outer space. Musashi, you are in charge of assembling an emergency fleet, ready to deploy at a moment’s notice should an alarm come from the Stone Village.”

Originally, Fang Zheng had planned to simply dispatch a fleet to patrol the planet’s orbit, but unfortunately, every warship would require Fang Zheng to expend Dimensional Points to maintain after leaving the range of the Heavenly Dao Palace. Since his Heavenly Dao Palace was currently short on resources, with every Dimensional Point spent being one less to use, he was not inclined to do so until he was sure about how long the Spirit Crystal Vein could sustain him.

However... With the Little Angel’s help, even without a fleet, Fang Zheng had better ways to address the problem.
