Chapter 706: Chapter 705 This Firewood is Poisonous!

```
”Roar——!”
Vlad III charged toward the enemy ahead once again, while Atalanta and Chiron quickly retreated. With an unspoken understanding, they bent their bows and notched their arrows, aiming at the oncoming Vlad III. Arrows crisscrossed through the air and shot towards Vlad III’s body. But facing their attack, Vlad III suddenly turned into a dense fog, swiftly dodging the assault from the two ARCHERS and flew toward another corridor.
”Not good! Stop it quickly, we can’t let it reach the Greater Holy Grail!”
Hearing Atalanta’s shout, Red LANCER—Karna silently nodded, then he raised his long spear. But just as Karna was about to act, another figure stepped in front of him—Achilles brandished his long spear and thrust toward Karna’s body, stopping his advance.
”What a nuisance.”
Seeing Achilles blocking his path, now vampirized, Karna frowned. This was another reason why the four of them hadn’t managed to kill Vlad III. Achilles’s defense was well-known; true, he was very difficult to kill. But even so, he couldn’t resist the curse of ”vampirization after being bitten by a vampire”, leading to his current wretched state.
It was for this reason the other four Servants had been treading carefully, keeping their distance from Vlad III. After all, fighting was one thing, but accidentally getting bitten and turned into a vampire was quite another.
”Red LANCER, CASTER, and I will stop RIDER. Red ARCHER, leave Vlad III to you!”
”I understand!”
Upon hearing Chiron’s response, Atalanta nodded, then swiftly turned and continued her pursuit of Vlad III.
”Hahaha, the Greater Holy Grail, the Greater Holy Grail, it belongs to me, the Holy Grail is mine!!”
With a triumphant laugh, the fog that was Vlad roared like a fierce wind towards the Daimon, but at that moment, a flash of firelight suddenly appeared in front of Vlad III.
The Pitch Black Greatsword traced a perfect arc in the air, slicing through the mist. Accompanied by a scream, the mist spun rapidly and burst, then condensed once again into the figure of Vlad III. Wailing, he fell to the ground, rolling in agony, followed by several arrows that whistled through the air, piercing Vlad III’s body and pinning him to the wall.
”Is it you?”
Atalanta landed on the ground, staring in surprise at Fang Zheng who stood not far in front of her. Of course, she knew of this mysterious knight, who in the first battle at the start of the Holy Grail War had almost killed their strongest Servant, Karna, and even forced his MASTER to use a Command Seal to escape.
For this reason, the Servants of the Red Faction had been paying close attention to the mysterious knight, but since that battle, the knight had not appeared again. What surprised Atalanta was his sudden appearance here of all places?!
Moreover, Atalanta was astonished to see that Vlad III was trembling with fear at the sight of this mysterious knight.
”Ah... ah... ah...”
”Who would have thought you’d end up like this, Vlad.”
Fang Zheng, holding his greatsword, walked slowly step by step towards Vlad III, who was pinned against the wall by arrows, and seeing Fang Zheng approaching, Vlad III began to tremble. He struggled to free himself from the arrows that transpierced his body, but then he suddenly stopped.
Then, another voice came from the mouth of the vampire in front of him.
”Kill me... kill me...! I am not a vampire! I am human... I am not a vampire...!”
”Of course, as you wish.”
```

Fang Zheng raised the pitch black greatsword, eyeing the enemy before him. He hadn’t originally intended to burn Vlad III to death, but after learning of Danik’s manipulative actions from the artificial human, Fang Zheng had no choice but to change his priority target.

He still remembered, in the Type Moon World he had seen, the contamination of the Holy Grail was due to the recollection of souls from illegally summoned servants dying and tainting the Greater Holy Grail. And now, Danik had survived by assimilating his soul with Vlad III and launched a Noble Phantasm that seemed inherently evil, which meant the servant’s soul had already mutated. If he were to merely kill him, then it was possible that after recollecting Vlad III’s mutated soul, the Greater Holy Grail could become contaminated or darken like that one...

This sort of thing happening once was enough! Can’t we have a normal end to a Holy Grail War just once?!

”I cannot die, I must obtain the Greater Holy Grail, I absolutely must obtain the Greater Holy Grail!”

The voice of Danik emerged from the mouth of the vampire, and he seemed to instinctively sense something from the flames burning on the pitch black greatsword. At that moment, the vampire unleashed all his power, with a roaring black storm that even Atalanta couldn’t help but retreat from.

But Fang Zheng stayed unmoving, holding the greatsword and watching the fierce beast erupting from the storm, then he squinted his eyes.

At that moment, time stopped.

”Pfft.”

The greatsword, ablaze with flames, mercilessly pierced through the vampire’s body, nailing him to the wall, as the soul’s flames burst forth, turning the dark storm swirling around them into a fire red so vivid it was unparalleled.

”Aaahhhhhh!!”

The soul began to burn, the Primordial Fire ruthlessly consumed the body of Vlad III turned vampire, along with the various souls within it, burning them to oblivion.

”No... I cannot die... the Holy Grail is... mine...

The vampire raised his flame-engulfed hands in despair, looking toward the sky, but before he could finish speaking, the flames invaded his mouth, scorching his vocal cords and tongue, and turned him into a pile of ash. With the burning flames, Fang Zheng could feel a warm power entering his body through the pitch black greatsword... It was a berserk, pitch black power, coming from the darkness deep within the soul...

”Buzz——!”

But at that moment, as if resonating with this power, the pitch black greatsword in Fang Zheng’s hand suddenly began to tremble!

What’s going on?

Fang Zheng looked at his pitch black greatsword in surprise, sensing that within the sword, something seemed on the verge of Awakening—could it be that the elf residing in this sword was finally going to awaken?

”Master!”

However, at that moment, Ester’s voice suddenly came to Fang Zheng’s ears.

”Quick, restrain Restia, her power is going berserk, that’s the power of the Dark Elf King’s...”

But before Ester could finish, Fang Zheng suddenly felt an icy chill penetrating his body from the hilt of the sword.

The next moment, he felt as if his entire being had been turned inside out!
