Chapter 703: Chapter 702: Red Faction Appears to Have Little Advantage

The Rain of Light Arrows fell from the sky, striking amidst the crowd.

The howling arrows pierced the bodies of the Artificial Humans, shattering the durable shells of the Magic Puppets. Although the arrows themselves did not carry great Attack Power and were essentially ineffective against Servants, they proved lethal to the fragile Artificial Humans and Magic Puppets.

”Is this what they call a grand opening to express goodwill?”

Fang Zheng stood atop the walls of Tolifas, watching the distant battlefield while opening his own terminal to begin ”enjoying” this unprecedented Holy Grail War.

Following a bombardment from the Red ARCHER’s Noble Phantasm, the formations of the Artificial Humans and Magic Puppets completely collapsed. Meanwhile, at the base of the Floating Castle, the Dragon Fang Legion seized the opportunity to surge forward, launching an assault on the castle.

If it were an army made up of humans, that unreasonable volley of fire would have been enough to break their morale. But since Artificial Humans are not true humans, although not as unfeeling as steel, they quickly reorganized their ranks, raising their weapons to engage with the charging Dragon Fang Soldiers in a chaotic battle.

At the same time, the Servants from both sides also advanced towards the battlefield.

The enemy will reach the battlefield in thirty seconds... All forces, charge!

”All right, the match has begun, let’s see the heroes from both sides,” Fang Zheng commented while keeping an eye on the screen.

”First up is the Red Faction; on the top lane is LANCER Karna, in midlane RIDER Achilles, in the bottom lane are the support duo of CASTER Shakespeare and ASSASSIN Semiramis, and the jungler is ARCHER Atalanta, a very aggressive damage-oriented lineup. The Black Side’s top laner is LANCER Vlad III, midlaner is ARCHER Chiron, bottom lane features BERSERKER Frankenstein as the ADC, supported by RIDER Astolfo and CASTER... can’t remember the name, and then there’s that feeder jungler Red BERSERKER... we can safely ignore him,”

Looking at the screen, where Red BERSERKER was smiling like a fool, Fang Zheng waved his hand dismissively and decisively switched off the image.

”In terms of numbers, the sides are almost even. Although we have one more jungler and one support AP, it’s essentially the same as having none. Now let’s focus on the combat...”

The battle erupted amidst Fang Zheng’s commentary.

”Boom!!!”

Accompanied by lightning striking down from the sky, Red RIDER took the initiative, blowing a whistle to summon a chariot, which roared off towards the forefront of the battlefield.

As the present-day RIDER class’s Achilles, he was extraordinary – ordinary Artificial Humans couldn’t withstand his charge. Under the unstoppable onslaught of his chariot, any Artificial Humans in his way were blasted away before they got close. Even the solid Magic Puppets were directly smashed into pieces.

”Hahaha! Is that all you’ve got? Where are the Black Faction Servants? Come out and fight me!”

Excitedly brandishing his Long Spear, RIDER surged forward like lightning. But soon, the shattered Magic Puppet fragments beneath his chariot started to melt like mud, wrapping around the chariot and hardening into solid stone. RIDER’s charge was halted, and seizing this opportunity, the surrounding Artificial Humans quickly raised their weapons, lunging towards Red RIDER.

”Hahaha, useless, all of you worms!!”

Laughing heartily, Red RIDER swung his Long Spear through the air, and with a flash of cold light, the Artificial Humans who had jumped at Red RIDER were torn apart, their blood spurting out and raining onto the ground, obstructing Red RIDER’s view.

In that instant, an arrow suddenly shot through the flying corpses and blood, aiming for Red RIDER’s neck.

”!!”

Surprised by this sudden sneak attack, Red RIDER still managed to swing his Long Spear in time to block the arrow, but the sharp arrow still grazed his neck, leaving a mark.

”Interesting...”

Feeling the sting on his neck, Red RIDER revealed an excited smile.

”Is it you, Black ARCHER? Come out, let’s have a good fight!!”

”Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!!”

As if responding to Red RIDER’s taunts, several more arrows flew from between the Magic Puppets, but this time they were easily swatted away by the prepared Red RIDER. Nevertheless, he used the direction of the incoming arrows to pinpoint his opponent’s location.

”Is it this way?!”

Shouting loudly, Red RIDER abandoned his chariot and leapt toward the direction the arrows came from. He raised his long spear and stabbed forward, and, with a whoosh, the airflow burst forth, shattering the massive and hard magic puppet into fragments. At the same time, a figure swiftly leaped out from behind the shattered body of the magic puppet, utilizing other puppets to once again put distance between themself and Red RIDER.

”Stop, don’t run!!”

Seeing that Black ARCHER was actually planning to flee, Red RIDER certainly did not intend to give up. He shouted as he continued the chase.

”Okay, we’ve seen it, Red Faction’s RIDER, Achilles, relying on his strong laning, started off very aggressively. But after the ambush, he abandoned the middle and has now been led by Black ARCHER into the forest... hmm, I wonder what will happen when Achilles discovers that the real identity of his opponent is his own teacher. But for me...”

At this point, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders. In the Type Moon World, being a teacher is a dangerous job, just look at Tohsaka Tokiomi, Kotomine Kirei, and Kirei Kotomine; which of them had a good end?

”Now we can only hope that Black ARCHER won’t be killed by the Will of the Great Cosmos of Type Moon... Let’s check out the situation on the other two lanes. It seems that the top lane’s two LANCERS are evenly matched; neither side has been able to inflict fatal damage on the other. However, it looks like Vlad III is a bit more fierce. It really is amazing how much of a boost you get on your own land...”

Looking at Vlad III, who was manipulating stakes and battling Karna, Fang Zheng could not help but sigh. If we go by their historic settings, Vlad III would be no match for Karna. But now, leveraging his legendary popularity boost in the Romanian region, he was actually able to go toe-to-toe with Karna, even gaining a slight upper hand.

From this perspective... This time, the Black Side’s MASTER is somewhat reliable.

However, what puzzled Fang Zheng was, if that’s the case, why did almost no one summon Heroic Spirits from Japan during the Fourth and Fifth Wars? If the battlefield is Fuyuki City, then native-born Heroic Spirits like Oda Nobunaga should have more popularity and strength bonuses... Seeing Pseudo ASSASSIN, Kojiro, take down a SABER, one can imagine how powerful this is...

”Alright, the top lane seems to be in a stalemate for now. Let’s take a look at the bottom lane... Black BERSERKER is addicted to clearing minions and can’t extricate himself, while Black RIDER is riding a griffin and planning to charge directly into the floating castle to cut into the backline. As to whether he’ll succeed, it’s all in the hands of fate. Meanwhile, on the other side...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng switched the screen once more... then, he shrugged his shoulders helplessly.

”Alright, the two junglers have started to battle it out.”

The battle at hand has reached a deadlock. Red RIDER has been lured by Black ARCHER into the forest for a one-on-one duel, and the two LANCERS are in their own duels. Black BERSERKER is frantically clearing minion waves, smashing wave after wave of Dragon Fang Soldiers to pieces. As for Red ARCHER, she’s engaged in a fight with Red BERSERKER... However, it seems that Red ARCHER is in a bit of a tight spot?

”Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!!”

The whistling arrows fly past, directly piercing through the muscular body of Red BERSERKER. Yet, the damage that should have been fatal didn’t kill Red BERSERKER. Although his knees and body were pierced by arrows shot by Red ARCHER, the opponent didn’t stop at all but instead laughed and charged at Red ARCHER once again.

”This is simply a monster!”

Seeing this scene, Red ARCHER was also greatly surprised and quickly retreated to put distance between her and Red BERSERKER. Just as she leaped back, Red BERSERKER’s dagger almost grazed her forehead before it fell, striking the ground and kicking up a spray of pebbles.

”Damn it!!” fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

While leaping back, Red ARCHER bent her bow and nocked another arrow, hitting Red BERSERKER’s body again and again. But his speed didn’t slow at all. Not only that, but Red ARCHER could clearly see that while running, Red BERSERKER’s muscular body was writhing on its own. Following that, the muscles throughout his body began to swell and grow, forcefully pushing out the arrows that were lodged within.

This is too exaggerated!!

Seeing this, Red ARCHER took a sharp breath. As a once ally in the same faction, she certainly learned about this BERSERKER—Spartacus’ Noble Phantasm ”Roar of the Wounded Beast” from the young priest. Simply put, it is a Noble Phantasm capable of converting damage from the enemy into magic power, stored inside the body for regeneration and power enhancement. The more damage he takes, the more power he accumulates and becomes more massive... But Red ARCHER didn’t expect the Noble Phantasm to be so troublesome!

I can’t go on like this!

With that thought, Red ARCHER swiftly leaped up and landed on Red BERSERKER’s shoulder, like a cat. She then violently grabbed his head and tore upward. Picking up an arrow, she plunged it into Red BERSERKER’s neck like a dagger, slicing to the side.

Blood sprayed forth, and Red BERSERKER’s head was torn open with a huge gash. Red ARCHER took the opportunity to leap backward, evading his counterattack, and then looked up at her enemy, widening her eyes in shock.

In the area where Red BERSERKER’s neck was torn, countless pieces of flesh bubbled out like foam, quickly coalescing into larger chunks of flesh. Soon, Red BERSERKER’s head was engulfed by the swelling pieces, leaving only a small part of his face visible... And even so, he let out a laughing roar and continued to charge at Red ARCHER with his body, which had become disproportionate due to incessant regeneration.

”.........”

At this point, Fang Zheng silently turned off the video.

That was just too disgusting.
