Chapter 717: Chapter 716: Is This the Final Battle... Is it Over?

In the midst of the night, the Aerial Courtyard continued to advance slowly.

Standing in the plaza, the young Priest stared at the spherical orb in front of him that radiated golden Radiance—the Greater Holy Grail.

The final step was approaching.

The Greater Holy Grail was within his grasp, and what he needed to do was to use his own power to transform the Holy Grail so that it would be sufficient to fulfill his wish and bring salvation to all of humanity.

As a Saint, this was his duty. With the Holy Grail, he could save everyone. He intended to remodel the Greater Holy Grail to shower the rain of mercy upon the whole world and then release every soul from its corporeal form. Surely, this would bring salvation to humankind.

Everything was just within reach......

”MASTER.”

The cold voice rang out, and the Priest turned around, looking at the Empress in Black who had appeared behind him.

”Everything is ready, and so far there’s no sign of Black Side’s shadow.”

”They will undoubtedly come.”

The Priest’s smile did not waver; he smiled like a Saint who would save everything.

”That’s why we must......”

The Priest did not finish his sentence because at that moment, a huge Shadow covered the bright Moonlight, turning the entire courtyard pitch black.

What on earth had happened?

The astonished crowd looked up to see what was above their heads, and then... they stood there, dumbfounded.

”Hahahahaha, what a farce this is, MASTER!”

Red CASTER—Shakespeare, swinging his feather quill, looked up at the sky with a mad grin.

”Behold, O God, lament, O man, O fate, you are forever so marvelous! Even I can’t help but marvel at this mystical trajectory!”

Above their heads were three entities, far more gargantuan than the Aerial Courtyard, floating there, slowly descending towards the Aerial Courtyard, bringing with them a pressure and the howling of a chilling wind that made the Aerial Courtyard shake as if it were a small boat in a tempest.

”What is that? Are those Noble Phantasms?”

Semiramis, in disbelief, gazed at the terrifying metal giants. She had been filled with absolute confidence in her Aerial Courtyard, believing that no matter what the Black Side tried, they couldn’t breach her Noble Phantasm. But now, faced with the infinite might of human technology, she truly felt her own insignificance.

Meanwhile, Fang Zheng stood before the commander’s console, coldly observing the images projected on the screen.

”Found you.”

He muttered, then raised his right hand,

”Come forth, Unsealing Master!”

The key-shaped scepter appeared once again in Fang Zheng’s hand, and he grasped the scepter, giving a light twist toward the void.

”Unsealing Master—Release!”

”Swish———!!”

As Fang Zheng’s words fell, an immense, pitch-black circular hole suddenly appeared above the three Metal Warships, and it swiftly descended, engulfing the triad of Metal Warships along with the Aerial Courtyard in an instant.

The surrounding scene changed in the blink of an eye.

The roiling sea of clouds, the deep blue sky, and the distant Moon had all vanished without a trace.

”What is this place? What in the world has happened?”

Semiramis stared around in amazement. The first thing they could see was the boundless, profound darkness, along with the faint lights in the distance, barely visible.

The entire world seemed to have been swallowed by darkness.

The Milky Way, Little Bear Constellation.

”I want to see what skills a Servant has left when it escapes into space.”

Fang Zheng snorted coldly, and then quickly issued another command.

”Dark Realm, terrifying! Load the multi-frequency crystal! Lock on the target, prepare to shoot! Hibiki, do a full-frequency scan on the target and find the location of the Greater Holy Grail!”

”Yes, Commander!”

Upon receiving Fang Zheng’s command, Hibiki saluted him and then immediately turned to approach the front of the command bridge.

”Begin target locking, prepare for attack!”

The superluminal particle beam lasers mounted on the sides of the warship slowly began to rotate, aiming and locking onto their target. Facing all this, Semiramis could not remain calm. She, who lived through a past life and the current one, had never seen such an eerie situation. There was no gravity here, yet it wasn’t like any place she recognized. However, Semiramis could feel that the terrifying metal creatures were brewing an attack powerful enough to destroy the entire Aerial Courtyard!

”I will absolutely not let you succeed!”

The Empress in Black let out an angry wail, raising both hands high. Accompanied by Semiramis’s movements, streams of purple radiance swiftly emerged from the pitch-black stone slabs arranged around the courtyard. Then, the massive stone slabs quickly rose and came together to form a solid wall.

At the same time, beams of light burst forth from the turrets, rushing toward the Aerial Courtyard in front of them.

”Boom————!”

Bright photon beams bombarded the exterior defenses of the courtyard—the eleven black sarcophagi, while the magic barrier teetered on the brink of collapse before the sheer might of science. Logically speaking, as an EX-ranked Noble Phantasm, the Aerial Courtyard should not be harmed by ordinary attacks devoid of magecraft and Divine Arts. However, it was not facing ordinary attacks but the culmination of innumerable instances of human technology—a most formidable force.

”——!”

First strike, second strike, third strike... By the fourth strike, the magic barrier could no longer withstand the roaring energy assault and shattered completely. Immediately after that, the subsequent beams of light instantly penetrated the Aerial Courtyard, tearing it apart into heaps of tattered fragments!

”Huff——!”

With the courtyard’s magic barrier broken, the howling air currents began to sweep and burst throughout the courtyard. Semiramis stumbled backward a few steps, even having trouble standing firm. Not only that, but she also felt the air around her rapidly thinning, and the magic power used to maintain the courtyard seemed to have been shattered by the strike as well.

If Semiramis hadn’t stabilized the Aerial Courtyard with the power of the Greater Holy Grail beforehand, this single blow would have been enough to completely disintegrate it.

”Damn it! Why? Why is this happening?!”

Desperately raising her hands, Semiramis tried in vain to stop everything, chanting Spell Text to try to restore the barrier. But now, everything was already out of control.

”MASTER! Please hurry into the Greater Holy Grail! We’re running out of time!”

Shouting, Semiramis raised her right hand and along with her gesture, a series of translucent steps appeared out of nowhere, extending from beneath the young Priest’s feet all the way to the Greater Holy Grail floating in the air. If only her MASTER could get into the Holy Grail in time, then maybe...

”Sorry, but this is the end.”

An unfamiliar voice rang out. Semiramis instinctively turned her head, only to discover a young man with black hair standing next to the staircase. Not far from his feet, the severed head of Red CASTER—Shakespeare was lying quietly, his face still holding a laughing expression as if completely unaware of the events unfolding. But then, they saw Shakespeare’s body and head turn into photon particles and swiftly disappear into the air.

”Daydreaming should have its limits, now, it’s time for your dream to end.”

Fang Zheng wiped the blood off his greatsword and looked towards the young Priest in front of him.

”So, you’re the mastermind behind all this, a pleasure to meet you. Although I wish to have a longer chat with you and mock you for your stupidity... Unfortunately, it seems we don’t have the luxury of American time.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng suddenly leaped up. At that moment, a purple Magic Circle appeared at the spot where he’d been standing, and then numerous magic power-formed chains shot out rapidly, slithering like snakes towards Fang Zheng. Simultaneously, on another side, Red LANCER Karna also raised his long spear, taking aim at Fang Zheng.

In the face of these chains, Fang Zheng merely waved the silver short sword in his left hand lightly. As the sword light flashed by, those magic power chains instantly shattered, and Fang Zheng landed gracefully at the end of the staircase. Then he reached out with his right hand and placed it on the Greater Holy Grail.

”It seems you have no interest in chatting with me, so I’ll take my leave.”

After saying this, Karna, Semiramis, and the young Priest only saw a flash of light, and when they came back to their senses, Fang Zheng and the Greater Holy Grail floating in the air had vanished without a trace.

”..........”

”.............”

Staring at the empty plaza, the three of them looked at each other, even as the Aerial Courtyard began to collapse around them. But for the young Priest and his two Servants...

”Boom!!”

The second wave of attacks arrived, as radiant beams of light once again pierced through the entire Aerial Courtyard. Accompanied by blinding flames and explosions, the Aerial Courtyard completely burst apart, and then, in the pitch black of space, it disintegrated into absolute fragments...
