Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 720: Chapter 719: Home is Indeed the Best

After securing victory in the Holy Grail War, Fang Zheng did not immediately return to the Heavenly Dao Palace, although he had successfully obtained the Third Magic. Considering the deal he had made with Alaya and Gaia, it was not possible for Fang Zheng to just dust off his hands and leave.

Following his communication with the two great Suppression Powers, Fang Zheng decided on his direction in the Moon World—technology would be the mainstay, with magecraft as a supplement. Of course, the reason Fang Zheng made this decision was that, afterwards, he had carefully investigated this world’s technology tree through the network and ”Ratziel”.

To his surprise, he discovered... the technology tree of the Moon World was also skewed!

In a way, the technology tree of the Moon World was somewhat similar to that of The Matrix of Hackers world Fang Zheng had previously visited. The difference was that on Earth in The Matrix of Hackers world, they managed to develop controlled nuclear fusion and then had the capital to idly wait for death, while Type Moon’s Earth seemed to focus more on reusing existing energy. Though they had plans for nuclear power plants, the concept of controlled nuclear fusion was still only on paper!

Comparing Type Moon’s Earth to that of the one Fang Zheng came from, both being in the early 21st century, Type Moon’s earth was several years behind in terms of civilization and technology.

Furthermore, the main direction of energy research on Type Moon’s Earth was maximizing the extraction and utilization of energy from existing sources, not the exploration of new energy. The constraints and monopolies in the traditional energy sector far surpassed those in Fang Zheng’s world, almost dominating every corner of this world. It was as if they were not going to consider new energy until they had completely exhausted Earth’s natural resources.

And so, Fang Zheng immediately understood how this world met its apocalyptic end... If he were Gaia, he might have had the urge to strangle these humans.

Indeed, even if it was the same Earth, the outcome could be completely different due to a deviation in just one branch of the technology tree.

The people of the Pitch Black World chose the biological technology tree and then created the Intestinal Virus, nearly playing themselves to death.

The people of The Matrix of Hackers chose controlled nuclear fusion and then just let everything go, idly waiting for death.

The people of the Type Moon World chose specialization in traditional energy, and then... then Gaia almost wished they were dead.

What Fang Zheng needed to do was to first straighten out the technology tree of the Type Moon World that was gradually veering off the wrong path.

But before that, he had to deal with the issue of the World Tree of a Thousand Realms.

After the Holy Grail War ended, the Mage’s Association did not immediately launch an attack on the World Tree of a Thousand Realms as Fang Zheng had thought. On the contrary, they were quiet as if they were dead, showing no signs of movement whatsoever. Curious and puzzled by this, Fang Zheng had originally planned to wait for the Mage’s Association, those fools, to come knocking, after which he would charge to the Clock Tower and set their den ablaze. But unexpectedly, they apparently had the sense to play dead... Fang Zheng let them be; after all, he had plenty of other matters to attend to.

The influence of the World Tree of a Thousand Realms stretched across the whole of Eastern Europe, but in Fang Zheng’s view, it was not suitable as the new stronghold for the rebirth of their clan. Europe was the domain of traditional, longstanding powers. Within the inner world, the Mage’s Association and the Sanctuary Church were the unrivaled rulers of this region, whereas in the outer world, although the European Union as a whole was not very formidable, the traditional energy conglomerates had a significant influence in this region.

If Fang Zheng wanted to carry out his plans here, then he would have to face interference and obstruction from the Mage’s Association, the Sanctuary Church, and even the traditional energy groups. This was not some urban commercial novel, and he had no interest in having nothing better to do than play hide and seek all day with those idiots.

After some thought, Fang Zheng made a decision.

That was to completely relocate the World Tree of a Thousand Realms clan out of Europe, to lay low and bide their time until their strength matured, and then make their move. Therefore, ultimately, Fang Zheng chose East Asia, the furthest from Europe, as the relocation site for the World Tree of a Thousand Realms clan.

To be exact, it was the ”rooster” of East Asia.

After all, it felt more comfortable on his own turf, and for the Mage’s Association, it was almost an untouchable blind spot. Additionally, in this world, that country was also suffering from foreign restrictions on raw materials and energy. Whether for research and exploration of new energy or study of magecraft, it was an ideal location.

Fang Zheng’s plan was to utilize the enormous market and potential of that rooster, gradually developing the new energy industry. As long as the new energy industry could show its enticing side, then it could forcefully penetrate the international market, changing the entire planetary energy structure chain. People always chase after benefits, so if new energy really could bring countless benefits to humanity, they would naturally flock to it. By then, the traditional energy industry would naturally be finished.

Meanwhile, Fang Zheng would take the opportunity to gradually upgrade the Earth technology tree in Type Moon World, influencing human development concepts with recyclable and environmentally friendly technology, and in a timely fashion, produce spaceships capable of interstellar colonization. If humanity could become a ”harmonious” faction and use that as a basis to carry out interstellar colonization and development, then Earth wouldn’t have to worry about being drained dry and left to wither anymore.

And thus, humanity would open a new Chapter in its era.

The reason Fang Zheng was doing this was, on one hand, because it was part of his trade with two great Suppression Powers, and on the other hand, Fang Zheng needed a qualified ”logistics research and development base.”

In the Free World he currently had at his disposal, the resources of the World of the Crimson Realm were mostly concentrated in the hands of the Followers of the Crimson Realm. However, the Free Method of the Followers of the Crimson Realm was too unique, unusable by anyone other than the Followers of the Crimson Realm and Fire Mist Warriors, lacking universality.

The Ironblood technology of the Ironblood World was relatively backward, only a small part being of research value, with the rest largely meaningless. As for the human side, they prioritized biotechnology, which overlapped with Fang Zheng’s Zerg and held no further value worth his attention.

As for the Black World, the great catastrophe caused by the Intestinal Virus meant that their technology had generational gaps. Based on the current situation, they wouldn’t be able to leave Earth even in fifty years. An incomplete and deformed technology tree was obviously of no interest to Fang Zheng.

Therefore, the only place where magic and technology could be researched side by side and progress hand in hand was Type Moon World, which was somewhat more stable. Although from time to time a vampire or a grotesque killer might emerge in this world, it was still far more peaceful than an entire perverse alien race that liked to skin people, or an Intestinal Monster that nearly destroyed humanity...

Afterward, Fang Zheng spent quite some time running back and forth until the system confirmed the transformation of Moon World into Free World. Only then did he eagerly open the Dimensional Passage and return to Heavenly Dao Palace with the others.

Finally... he had returned!

As Fang Zheng once again set foot on this familiar stretch of grass and looked at Heavenly Dao Palace in front of him, he was so moved that he was almost brought to tears. Even though he had left the Heavenly Dao Palace to visit other worlds more than once in the past, sometimes for several years at a time, at those times he could return whenever he wanted. But this time, Fang Zheng had gone through immense hardships and had finally made his way back to Heavenly Dao Palace, naturally experiencing a storm of emotions in his heart.

”This is Heavenly Dao Palace... It’s really beautiful...”

Illya and Yoshino’s eyes widened as they looked at the verdant grass and blue skies with white clouds, and the town imbued with European style in the distance.

”It’s really... very beautiful, a rather lovely city indeed.”

Kurumi extended her hand, brushed her hair lightly, and curled her lips into a small smile.

This time, when Fang Zheng returned to Heavenly Dao Palace, he brought Illya, Little Hei, Yoshino, Kurumi, and Atalanta with him, leaving Jeanne d’Arc behind in Type Moon World. After all, just relying on Fiore and Coles was not enough to handle things there, and as a Servant, Jeanne d’Arc was very reliable.

But now...

Fang Zheng raised his hand and swung it with force.

”Let’s go, we’re heading home!”
