Chapter 702: Chapter 701: The enemy army will reach the battlefield in 30 seconds

”This is truly...”

Looking toward the distant horizon, the masters of the World Tree were dumbfounded. When they first received the notification from Fang Zheng, they thought it was a joke, but when they used their magecraft to see the huge fortress suspended in the sky, even the magicians couldn’t help but be shocked.

Although the side of the World Tree had anticipated various attack methods from the Red Faction, such a ”lavish” approach to the attack was completely unexpected.

”Whoosh whoosh whoosh...”

Countless teeth fell from the Aerial Courtyard, dropping onto the plains before the Castle of the World Tree, and soon they saw these giant teeth rapidly transforming into figures resembling skeleton ghosts—the Dragon Fang Soldiers, who silently held weapons formed from bones, forming a vast army that, under the guidance of the fortress in the skies, marched toward the castle.

”ARCHER, how is the fortress now?”

”It has stopped moving.”

Upon hearing Fiore’s inquiry, Black ARCHER replied.

”It seems that the opponent plans to use this plain as the battlefield.”

”Indeed.”

Danik sneered, and then he turned his head and glanced at Fiore beside him.

”Let’s go back, Fiore. What follows is the Servants’ battle, and all we as magicians can do is support them.”

”You’re right.”

Accompanied by this voice, Vlad III appeared out of thin air, and at the same time, several other Servants quietly arrived on the castle walls.

Vlad III simply stared coldly at the vast army of Dragon Fang Soldiers in the distance, anger flaring in his eyes.

”To dare invade my territory uninvited and spread these filthy skeleton soldiers across it, they are outrageously bold and reckless. They must be punished!”

”Of course, my King.”

Danik respectfully bowed his head to Vlad III.

”Please, unleash your power to your heart’s content, I will be here, witnessing your victory.”

Having said that, Danik turned and left. Fiore hesitated for a moment, then looked at Mr. Fang Zheng standing beside her.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, you...”

”I will go to the battlefield with my Servant to see if there’s any chance to fish in troubled waters. After all, my Servant can’t play much of a role in a direct battle.”

”I see...”

Hearing Mr. Fang Zheng’s response, a look of disappointment appeared on Fiore’s face, but she quickly shook her head and then smiled again and said.

”Then, I wish you a safe journey and hope that you return victorious.”

”Let’s hope your good words come true, Miss Fiore.”

Mr. Fang Zheng gave Fiore a slight smile, then turned and walked down the stairs on the other side of the castle wall. Fiore watched as his figure disappeared and then sighed.

”Sister?”

Seeing Fiore’s expression, Coles couldn’t help but look at her curiously.

”What’s the matter?”

”Ah, Coles...”

Having been called by her brother, Fiore quickly came to her senses. Her cheeks slightly reddened as she shook her head and said in a low voice,

”No, I’m just worried about Mr. Fang Zheng’s safety... After all, the upcoming battle will be very dangerous...”

”I see...”

Coles watched Fiore, remained silent for a moment, and then helplessly reached up to press his forehead.

”Sister, I know you have feelings for him, but this is the Holy Grail War. You need to be more spirited,”

”Of course, I know!”

It seemed that Coles had hit the nail on the head regarding what was on Fiore’s mind. Her face flushed red as she glared at him. As Coles had mentioned, Fiore indeed harbored certain feelings for Fang Zheng. Initially, she didn’t know Fang Zheng. It was only when she summoned her Servant before the start of the Holy Grail War that her uncle mentioned that the World Tree of a Thousand Realms sought ”external assistance” for this war, with the other party being a very talented magician. Moreover, Danik had told Fiore that if she failed to obtain the Holy Grail, she would marry Fang Zheng...

Fiore could understand Danik’s method; although she was a magician from Yukdonia, she was also the successor Clan Leader of the World Tree, possessing a Magic Circuit and potential second only to Danik. Naturally, her lineage could not come to an end due to the Holy Grail War. It was a rule among all magician families that excellent bloodlines must continue, and the World Tree family was no exception.

While the Holy Grail itself was important, if it became impossible to obtain it, then preserving the bloodline for the next Holy Grail War was also essential.

Before meeting Fang Zheng, Fiore was quite curious about him and also somewhat uneasy. Before the World Tree announced its secession from the Mage’s Association, Fiore had also studied at the Clock Tower, so she was well aware that many magicians had quirky personalities and could even be considered dangerous. Hence, she was worried about what she would do if he turned out to be such a person.

But to Fiore’s surprise, Fang Zheng was not as arrogant, frightening, or strange as she had thought. Instead, he was very serene and easy to get along with. Not only that, but he was also humorous, kind, and interesting, but importantly... he was also very handsome.

Unfortunately, it seemed he was not yet aware of Danik’s decision, which made Fiore feel somewhat disheartened. After all, during their brief interactions, Fiore had grown to have a good impression of Fang Zheng... but she also knew that now was not the time for romantic feelings.

Still, having her younger brother notice made Fiore feel somewhat embarrassed.

”We need to focus on the battle now, Coles. Let’s go,”

”Okay, okay...”

Watching Fiore walk away, Coles smiled and shook his head. He glanced at the BERSERKER next to him, gave her an encouraging gesture, and quickly turned to catch up with Fiore.

The war was about to begin.

Watching the Artificial Humans and Magic Puppets standing in formation in the courtyard ready to go, Fang Zheng remained silent. Although he said he would check on the situation, in reality, Fang Zheng had decided to observe the entire war from beginning to end, taking action only if something unexpected happened. After all, as the predetermined victor, he also wanted to see what methods Alaya had in store for him to achieve victory.

Since Fang Zheng was unable to burn them into firewood and had already been predetermined as the certain victor, he felt there was little point in taking action himself now.

”Boom!”

The city gates opened.

Under the command of the Servants, the Artificial Humans and Magic Puppets quickly moved out of the city, forming a neat defensive formation. Of course, they were not there to fight the Servants but to fend off the attacks of the Dragon Fang Soldiers. Only LANCER, BERSERKER, RIDER, and ARCHER could truly battle the enemy Servants.

Oh, and that muscle maniac.

Just thinking about that guy made Fang Zheng even less willing to enter the battlefield.

Meanwhile, aboard the aerial fortress, the Servants of the Red Faction also spotted the army of the Black Side forming up on the plains below.

”It seems they’re also ready,”

The young priest said with a slight smile. Then he turned his head and looked at the Servants beside him.

”So, who wants to go first?”

”Let me do it,”

Red ARCHER stepped forward to the edge of the balcony, a girl who raised her Longbow with two arrows nocked upon it, aiming into the sky. The howling cold wind blew past, causing the fuzzy ears atop her head to twitch.

”With my bow, I request the protection of the Sun God and the Moon Goddess!”

As Atalanta whispered, the arrows in her hands began to shimmer with Radiance.

”Offering such a calamity—Arrow Missive!”

With Red ARCHER’s prayer, the two arrows whistled as they shot forth, trailing blinding paths through the clouds, disappearing without a trace.

But this was just the beginning.

Red ARCHER—Atalanta’s Noble Phantasm ”Arrow Missive,” was activated at this moment.

Numerous points of light appeared among the clouds, then transformed into a torrential rain from the sky.

The battle had officially begun.
