Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”This is bad!!”

His chakra flow became sluggish and his movements were restricted. Looking at Seiryū rapidly closing in while holding a Rasengan.

Fear and shock appeared in his eyes.

It was as if that past scene were repeating itself at this very moment, causing a trace of fear toward Seiryū to rise in his heart once again.

Was he... going to lose again?

No!

He would not allow himself to lose again.

He would not allow himself to lose to Seiryū again.

He had come this time for revenge.

He would kill Seiryū in a cruel way!!

He let out a low roar. ”This time I won’t lose, absolutely not!!”

Stimulated by the emotions in his heart, the dōjutsu power of his Sharingan seemed to grow stronger.

The three tomoe in his right eye spun rapidly.

As if driven by instinct, or subconsciously, he cast a genjutsu at that moment.

”Genjutsu: Sharingan!!”

Taking advantage of the instant their gazes met, it fell upon Seiryū.

At the same time.

In one of the stands.

The final moment had arrived.

Setsuna, the great elder of the Uchiha clan, watched this scene and narrowed his eyes slightly.

Inwardly, he muttered, ’Now that the hatred suppressed for so long is about to be completely vented, and his emotions are being pushed to the extreme, will the Sharingan undergo sublimation? Don’t disappoint me.’

To make sure his grandson could kill Seiryū smoothly.

He had used a Transcription Seal to leave part of his own dōjutsu power in his right eye.

It would automatically activate at a critical moment.

A genjutsu cast with his dōjutsu power would absolutely catch even a Jōnin.

There was no way a mere brat who was not even a Chunin could resist it.

This was the moment to verify his hypothesis!!

An invisible and intangible, yet still perceptible, chakra landed on Seiryū’s body.

It made Seiryū pause for a moment.

A brief trace of confusion appeared on his face, and his movements instinctively came to a halt.

But in almost no more than a blink, that state vanished.

Coming back to his senses, Seiryū narrowed his eyes slightly. ”Genjutsu?”

This chakra, filled with an eerie nature.

Was clearly the dōjutsu power of the Uchiha clan’s Sharingan, and it was a genjutsu driven by that dōjutsu power.

The Uchiha clan’s Sharingan was itself an eye specialized in genjutsu.

And genjutsu was also one of the techniques the Uchiha clan excelled at.

So it was only natural that he could cast genjutsu.

The reason Seiryū did not care was because... he had cheats.

Any spiritual or mental attack would be immunized by the system.

That was also the reason he dared to meet his gaze directly!

But the strength of this genjutsu was off.

’This level of genjutsu is stronger than even Uncle Shinku’s. There is absolutely no way the current him could cast something like this.’

’A Transcription Seal from the Uchiha clan? This guy is actually cheating!?’

Seiryū thought to himself.

His strength was not weak. He had surpassed Chunin, and perhaps already had the level of a Jōnin.

But there was still some gap between him and a true elite Jōnin.

In every aspect.

There was absolutely no way his genjutsu could have this level of intensity.

He did not have that kind of strength.

Even the genjutsu cast by Yūhi Shinku, who specialized in genjutsu, did not have such intensity.

Then there was only one possibility.

This guy was cheating!

Another member of the Uchiha clan had used a Transcription Seal to leave another source of dōjutsu power on him.

Under the effect of the Transcription Seal, once the required condition was met, it would activate.

And passively release a powerful genjutsu!

Unfortunately, the one who had placed the Transcription Seal did not know about Seiryū’s special nature.

’Was it that old guy?’

From the corner of his eye, Seiryū glanced toward one section of the stands.

That was where Setsuna, his grandfather, was sitting.

As the great elder of the Uchiha clan, and a ruthless man who had once plotted to assassinate the Second Hokage.

There was absolutely no way his strength was weak. He might even be able to contend with Kage-level fighters!

Seiryū felt his guess was correct.

That old man had definitely tampered with something.

The Uchiha clan really was a bunch of scheming bastards.

Very good, he would remember this!

And maybe he could even turn their own trick against them and give them a huge surprise.

So, Seiryū did not move, pretending to be controlled by the genjutsu!

”Hah, that was close.”

Seeing Seiryū controlled by his genjutsu, he immediately let out a breath of relief.

If his genjutsu had not worked, and Seiryū had managed to get close.

Then with him sealed by Bakudō and unable to resist, there would only have been death waiting for him!

That had been far too dangerous.

Luckily, Seiryū had been too arrogant.

He had actually dared to meet his eyes directly, which gave him the chance to cast genjutsu.

”Hehehe, now the roles have reversed and the situation has turned around. I admit your strength is very great, but in the end, you’re the one who lost!!”

He burst into laughter, venting the delight in his heart as much as he wanted.

He grabbed the Rikujōkōrō binding him, erupted with chakra, and only after using quite a bit of effort did he tear it apart.

Restoring his freedom of movement!

Not believing Seiryū could break free from his genjutsu, he gripped the short blade in hand, stepped forward, and rushed straight at Seiryū.

The coldness, killing intent, and excitement of imminent revenge in his eyes were completely undisguised at this moment!

The battle... was over!

He had won!!

Seiryū watched him rush over, keeping up the appearance of being trapped in genjutsu, quietly waiting for him to ”walk right into the net.”

Arrogance, overconfidence, and conceit, most members of the Uchiha clan suffered from this kind of ”illness.”

And he was no exception.

In fact, he was even worse than most of the others.

”I’ll make good on what I said before and kill you in a cruel way. Even if you can’t hear me right now, hahaha!”

A vicious laugh came from his mouth as he crossed the distance in a few quick steps.

The short blade in his hand came down toward Seiryū, targeting his shoulder, as if he intended to sever Seiryū’s right arm clean off at the shoulder.

He would make good on what he had said before!

He would make Seiryū die in despair and pain.

At this critical moment, Seiryū moved.

Chakra surged through the acupoints on the back of his left hand, rotating and gathering into a chakra shield that blocked the blade he was so certain would land.

His face changed drastically. ”You!?”

”Don’t you know I’m from the Yūhi clan? Genjutsu is also something I excel at. Breaking the genjutsu you cast on me isn’t difficult at all.”

Looking at his drastically changed expression, a trace of mockery flashed through Seiryū’s eyes.

Then he formed a seal and pointed a finger. ”Hadō #4, Byakurai!”

Crackle!

A burst of lightning rang out.

The beam of lightning pierced through his shoulder, leaving behind a bloody hole.

A scream followed immediately. ”Aaaahhh!”

”Hehehe, does this scene feel familiar?”

Hearing his scream, Seiryū smiled somewhat madly.

Crackle!

Another Byakurai pierced through his right thigh, and amid another shrill scream, his steps staggered and his whole body collapsed to the ground.

Crack!!

A foot filled with monstrous strength came stomping down.

His fragile left shin bone was crushed directly under that foot, flesh and blood mangled.

White bone fragments were exposed, clearly visible.

”Aaaahhh, damn it! You actually did this to me again!!”

A scream mixed with an angry roar burst from his mouth.

It was the same as before, exactly the same injuries.

The only difference was that his tolerance for pain was stronger now.

That kind of pain had not made him pass out, because his heart was driven by rage and hatred, and his will was incomparably firm.

But the anger, bitterness, and humiliation in his heart were even greater than before.
