Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Bai Jin and Lingshan tightened their grip on their weapons, ready to fight at any moment.

Only Yang Yu, following He Meng’s prior advice, showed no hostility at all.

Raising his hand, signaling his companions not to be anxious, Yang Yu walked alone towards the black Slime General, smiling:

”Madam, don’t say such unkind words.

Do you know how much effort we expended to escort your princess back here?

The dangers on the surface are far beyond what you Slimes living underground can imagine.

Your princess got tricked due to her playful nature and was taken so far away, suffering various inhumane treatments, barely clinging to life.

If it weren’t for us, she would have already perished in the Netherworld.

To escort her back to her original homeland, we faced numerous hardships, hovering on the brink of life and death countless times.

Also because of her, we got into some trouble, and we may need the strength of the Slime Kingdom to break free, which is why we are here.

If you drive us out and we are attacked and killed, the reputation of the Slime Kingdom will plummet.

If another member of the Slime Royal Family is kidnapped, no one will be there to escort them back to their home country.

Driving us out like this, it doesn’t make sense logically or emotionally.”

Before heading to the Slime Kingdom, Yang Yu had considered what to do if they were expelled by the Slime Kingdom.

He had long prepared a complete set of scripts.

Although he hadn’t communicated or memorized those complex scripts with others, Yang Yu believed that once he started performing, others would cooperate to the best of their ability.

Especially He Meng, having spent so long with her, Yang Yu knew she had a bit of a diva temperament, but her smart self would definitely know when to lend a hand.

At such a critical moment, He Meng would never expose his lie.

Sure enough, even though He Meng furrowed her brows, slightly dissatisfied, as if she wanted to shout at Yang Yu, ”Say that again, who exactly kidnapped me! And the crises we faced were all your fault. I just wanted to peacefully chew on Clover by the side, and before I knew it, I was traveling half the world with you!” However, He Meng swallowed her words and agreed:

”It’s true if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have been able to return here.

I nearly died halfway through.

They are not only my friends but also my saviors.

Because of me, they provoked some trouble, and I promised to help them resolve the issues I caused.

Please, let us pass this time, and I will explain everything to Father.

I absolutely don’t want our Slime Kingdom to bear the reputation of betrayal.”

He Meng’s words carried a bit of a plea, something she would only use when asking her parents for Clover, but now it’s the only option left.

This princess has already lowered herself so much, wouldn’t it be inappropriate if you still didn’t give way?

Faced with He Meng’s plea, the Slime General remained unmoved:

”You say that, but isn’t it the princess’s fault for running off to play?

Because you ran off so casually, we couldn’t find you anywhere, and His Majesty took out his anger on us.

Do you know?

At one point, His Majesty even said if you didn’t return, he would keep cutting off our food supply.

It was originally for that delicious Clover that we turned into like this, idly guarding the cave entrance every day.

And now it’s gone without a trace, do you know the resentment in our stomachs?”

He Meng was momentarily speechless, glancing at Yang Yu beside her.

Yang Yu was already holding a shovel, digging in the soil, planting seeds, and using the Skill [Clover Cultivation].

Bunches of Clover took root and sprouted even without sunlight, growing taller than Yang Yu in an instant.

During the long journey, the Skill [Clover Cultivation] had grown quite a lot too.

Initially, Yang Yu could only cultivate one Clover at a time, but now he could make Clovers grow in various shapes according to his will and even control their growing speed.

Unfortunately, the fact that Clover cultivation still required seeds hadn’t changed, otherwise, he could have developed some applications.

To fully feed He Meng, Yang Yu often used his spare time to cultivate Clover seeds, and with the current stock of Clover seeds, he could feed He Meng for a good ten years without an issue.

Looking at the suddenly appearing Clover, the Slime soldiers around the General suddenly became restless, eager to rush up and feast on it.

The Slime General gave a fierce glare at her subordinates, but her subordinates continued their restlessness, instead exaggerating their monster-like dance in place, as if the Clover before Yang Yu was already in their possession.

They were now contemplating how to divide the pile of Clovers before them, with so much sincerity shown, why fight at all!

The Slime General was speechless, secretly vowing to teach these disobedient subordinates a lesson; as guards of the Slime Kingdom, they mustn’t succumb to such temptation.

Then, the Slime General saw that the Clover ”tree” cultivated by Yang Yu had branched out further, becoming more lush, and each Clover was plump with fragrance she could even smell.

Clover as luscious as this was mostly enjoyed by the Royal Family, and soldiers of the Slime Kingdom like them could only enjoy it two or three times a month, yet such a large patch of delightful Clover appeared before them.

The Slime General hadn’t realized her hands had already clasped beside her cheeks, her eyes sparkling, her tongue forming a heart shape, with drool almost dripping from her mouth, her mind filled with ”How big can this Clover ’tree’ grow? Will it fill this entire place? Swimming in an ocean of Clover, feels like a dream.”

Suddenly, Yang Yu withdrew his hand, and the Clover’s growth halted abruptly.

The Slime General snapped back to reality, instinctively wiping her mouth, silently cursing Yang Yu for being despicable— she was a General of the Slime Kingdom, how could she be bribed with Clover like this?

”You... I... that... Clover... give me... quickly give me... temptation... tricked...”

The surrounding Slimes glanced at their General, noticing her wavering, stuttering...

Iyas and the others tried hard to hold back their laughter, turning away from the Slimes, not letting them see their reactions.

And the one who started all this, Yang Yu straightforwardly opened his bribery to the Slime General:

”I’ll give you all these Clovers; could you let us pass?”
