Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu sat with his companions around the long table. Lisa hummed a tune as she brought tea, placing it in front of everyone, with an unprecedented smile on her face.

As Bai Jin accepted the hot tea, her gaze kept flicking towards Lisa, feeling an inexplicable tension inside.

It was her first time at Yang Yu’s old home, and the woman in front of her was Yang Yu’s mother, her future...

She seemed like a very kind person, but Bai Jin didn’t know what Lisa would think if she knew about her relationship with Yang Yu.

When they first entered, Lisa almost burst into tears but held back from throwing herself into Yang Yu’s arms, a scene still vivid in Bai Jin’s mind.

When I have children of my own someday, I reckon I’ll become just like her...

Bai Jin couldn’t help but imagine her future with Yang Yu. The more she thought, the hotter her cheeks became, hastily shrinking in on herself, pretending to be calm.

When Bai Jin glanced at Lisa again, she noticed Lisa’s gaze constantly darting towards Iyas, seemingly speculating about the relationship between such a beautiful woman and Yang Yu.

Bai Jin’s mind suddenly turned into a mess.

After a moment, Lisa’s gaze moved away from Iyas and met Bai Jin’s eyes.

Bai Jin involuntarily sat up straight, cupping the teacup in her hands, taking a small sip, her eyes wandering, hoping Lisa hadn’t discovered her relationship with Yang Yu, but also with a trace of expectation, hoping Lisa’s gaze would linger on her a bit longer.

Such contradictory feelings left Bai Jin unsure of what to do.

Lisa let out a small laugh, holding her tray, and left the room.

Even though she hadn’t seen her son for many years and wanted to talk to him more, the atmosphere clearly didn’t allow her to hold on to Yang Yu without stopping.

After Yang Yu left home, Kari and Lisa also tried to search for Yang Yu’s whereabouts to ensure his safety.

But with only a small pharmacy to their name, Lisa and Kari couldn’t fully understand all of Yang Yu’s actions up to that point.

All they knew was that Yang Yu had indeed registered at the adventurer guild and become an adventurer, but they knew nothing about his subsequent adventures.

Lisa was filled with emotions. Unknowingly, her child had grown up and become quite remarkable, meeting many extraordinary people.

Back when Yang Yu went out for adventures, she cried her heart out, yet now her feelings were unbelievably at ease.

”It’s rare for him to bring back so many friends; I should really make something special for them.”

With her tray pinned under her arm, Lisa patted her cheeks, rolled up her sleeves, and was full of energy.

After Lisa walked away, Yang Yu asked Bai Jin to set up the Soundproof Barrier.

Sitting in the shell, Luo Luosi rested his chin on his right hand, a straw replacing a cigarette between his fingers:

”I didn’t expect your hometown to be like this.

I thought you’d have a big family backing you for such an achievement.

It all seems too ordinary...

Do you think it’s possible that your parents are actually hidden masters, training you every day, leading to your achievement today?”

Yang Yu gave a helpless smile.

If it were a typical game or comic, it might really have such a setting.

Like an orphan despised by others, whose parents are actually leaders of the Ninja Village; an ordinary high school student, who is half-human, half-ghost...

What seemed like an underdog’s rise to fame ended up involving destiny and bloodline.

But with his initially weak character attributes, Yang Yu had every reason to believe his parents were genuinely ordinary people.

”If every hero had a massive family backing them, such a world would be too harsh, too boring.

Getting this far, I mostly relied on the ancient relics’ strength.

I came back here not just to see my parents but also to treat this place as a temporary stronghold.”

Yang Yu said, moving to Bai Jin’s back, retrieving He Meng from her hood, and placing it in the center of the table.

He Meng groggily woke up, looking around blankly.

Yang Yu spoke firmly, ”To deal with the Count Blood, we need to leverage Slime’s strength.”

”Slime?”

Everyone simultaneously looked at He Meng in the middle of the table, and He Meng, clueless, tilted her head.

No one expected the first to realize it was Iyas,

”I remember now.

Slimes have a trait of not fearing poison.

When crossing the desert, you used He Meng to clear a lot of Poison Liquid in some Underground Maze, paving a path for us.”

Yang Yu nodded, ”That’s right, low-level demon Slimes have a unique immunity to toxins.

During our adventures, we encountered many of Count Blood’s minions. They are extremely adept at using toxins.

Despite having countermeasures for toxins, frequent poisoning can still impact our strategy speed.

Therefore, it’s necessary to minimize poisoning incidents.

And low-level demons like Slimes have natural advantages. By utilizing them well, we have a chance to defeat Count Blood...”

Yang Yu’s words drew dissatisfaction from He Meng. Small arms grew on her round body, indicating protest:

”Who are you calling a low-level demon?

Do low-level demons understand you, communicate with you?

Can low-level demons grasp and utilize your human knowledge!

We Slimes are not low-level demons!”

”Apologies, apologies.” He Meng, fuming with anger, Yang Yu smiled apologetically: ”We can’t rule out the possibility that you’re special.

I sure hope there are more Slimes like you; it would benefit our future actions.

He Meng, you came to the surface from the Slime Kingdom.

I want to know how to reach the Slime Kingdom.

I need the power of your race and hope you can help.”

Yang Yu’s demeanor was incredibly sincere, and He Meng leaped from the table, transforming into a girl’s form as she flipped through the air, pouting at the edge of the table,

”Even if you say so, I don’t have the authority to make our race lend a hand to you.

It’s been a long time since I went back...

Even though there’s no worry of my status being revoked, going back now seems troublesome in every way.”

Yang Yu extended his hand, conjuring a Clover which he tossed to He Meng. He Meng opened her mouth wide, swallowing the Clover in one go.

”First, take us to the Slime Kingdom, be our translator, and leave the rest to me.

I’ll show sincerity to make them agree to help us.”

Gullying down the Clover, He Meng licked her fingers with reluctance,

”Alright.

Originally, I planned to take you back once.

A human who can effortlessly create Clovers is truly remarkable.

I think most Slimes would agree...

It’s just... there’s some trouble.

You’ll know what kind of trouble once you’re there, explaining it would be too cumbersome.

Having been away for so long, I have no idea how they are doing now.”

Yang Yu gave a smile: ”Then I’m counting on you.”
