Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”Ratatatatata!”

The black machine gun instantly spewed fire, countless black bullets shot out from the barrel, and in an instant, turned several members of the expeditionary team into sieves.

A leader of an adventurer group witnessed it all, seeing his teammates riddled with bullets, lying in a pool of blood.

They responded to the call of the nation, coming to take part in the crusade against the Curse Sect, surviving a sudden attack by evil spirits and the onslaught of the Demon Seeds and newly born demons.

In this battle, they learned a lot of things.

They believed they could touch the threshold of an S-Class adventurer group through this crusade.

This leader was not afraid of death.

To become stronger often accompanies various risks.

What he couldn’t accept the most was his companions lying on the ground, leaving this world forever before they could do anything.

”You bastard! I will never let you go, I will make you pay with your life for theirs!”

The leader’s anger completely suppressed his fear and sadness, drawing his weapon, he irrationally charged at the demon many times taller and stronger than him.

”Ratatatata!”

The machine gun in Marbas’s hands spewed fire again, instantly turning the unfortunate leader into a sieve.

With this leader’s charge as the beginning, countless members of the expeditionary team who witnessed their companions’ deaths launched fierce charges toward Marbas.

The machine gun continued to spit fire, they used their defensive skills, fearlessly advancing against the bullets fired by the machine gun.

Unfortunately, many people’s defensive skills could not withstand Marbas’s machine gun.

Their shields shattered into pieces under the machine gun’s barrage.

One member after another of the expeditionary team fell in pools of blood.

Some members of the expeditionary team, who were farther away from Marbas, briefly had the thought of fleeing.

They thought they absolutely couldn’t withstand those strange attacks; going up would be no different from courting death.

Their knees trembling slightly, someone stabbed their own thigh hard, stopping the trembling, gripping their weapon tightly.

Even if they ran, where could they run to?

In the end, wouldn’t they still become the playthings of demons?

They weren’t just fighting for themselves but also for the things they were protecting behind them, fighting for this world.

Fleeing here would only make them deserters, spat upon by others, but dying in battle here would make them heroes revered by thousands.

In previous battles, they continuously used the same reason to convince themselves.

And they succeeded in convincing themselves; how could they fail now?

Cowards had already shown their ugliness in the first battle, and they must not follow in their footsteps.

The expeditionary team members at the rear launched attacks, advancing one after another, resolutely moving forward even as bullets penetrated their chests, determined to die with value and dignity.

The fire-spewing machine gun stopped, emitting a burst of white smoke, Marbas’s attack temporarily halted due to his weapon overheating.

Watching the charging members of the expeditionary team, Marbas’s mouth curled into a smile.

”In any era, humans are always so relentless.

Without any high-power weapons, it seems they have lost their civilization.

Pathetic and pitiful.

But they all deserve it.

The people here are different from the people of the past, I will not show mercy.

Don’t misunderstand my meaning.

Even if the people from the past were here, I wouldn’t show mercy.”

The machine gun turned into black shards and reconstructed into a long spear in Marbas’s hand.

Just as Marbas was preparing to meet the enemy, a blue arrow cut through the sky from a distance, suddenly disappearing mid-air.

”It’s useless.

Nothing can blind my sight.

Even if this arrow temporarily crosses into a different space, I can see it clearly.”

Wielding his weapon, Marbas slashed into the seemingly empty air.

The moment the blue arrow appeared, it was under Marbas’s sword.

Seeing the blue arrow about to be split in two, the blue arrow suddenly transformed into a concave box, clamping down on Marbas’s sword blade.

The front end of the box suddenly grew tentacles, grabbing the sword hilt, and with a thrust forward, it flew towards Marbas, transforming into a sharp drill.

”This feeling...

A mass of walking magic power?

It’s not entirely magic power...

It seems I’ve seen this kind of creature somewhere? Another creation of those people?

...

I remember now, it should be the most primitive magic creature.

Without them, we demons couldn’t be created.

Why is such a primitive magic creature appearing here?”

As this thought flashed through his mind, a black shadow suddenly appeared in front of Marbas, the hollow sword blade flickering with white light, then covered with a layer of orange glow.

Marbas caught a whiff of danger, but by the time he wanted to react, it was already too late.

Yang Yu’s sword slashed hard on his arm, leaving a black wound, and purple blood spurted from Marbark’s wound, while He Meng, transformed into a drill, fiercely struck his abdomen.

He Meng had been with Lotcar, and at the first moment of the explosion, she jumped in front of the defenseless Iyas, transforming into an indestructible wall, shielding Iyas and Lotcar from the attack.

After digging himself out of the rubble, Yang Yu immediately found Iyas.

Iyas held her fist tightly, regretting not being able to concentrate enough to shoot the Light Arrow at the first moment.

But at that time, Yang Yu didn’t have time for her to wallow in regret.

Marbas was both a missile launcher and a machine gun, and who knew what kind of weapon Marbas would turn into next.

If no one went up to pin him down, total annihilation was only a matter of time.

The person currently capable and with the stamina to restrain this demon, without a doubt, was Yang Yu.

Facing the formidable firepower of the machine gun, even if Yang Yu activated all of his defense enhancement skills, a single sweep of the machine gun would still take away more than a third of his blood volume.

Yang Yu approached Iyas, seeking healing and buffs from her.

The exact strength of the enemy was unknown; having one more person improves safety.

Given Marbas’s extremely strong firepower, only He Meng could be his assistant.

Yang Yu immediately decided to bring He Meng along.

As for Lotcar, Yang Yu had him continue to serve as an important means of transport.

Marbas had the trait of Demon’s Heart, inflicting 500% damage to Holy Light units, causing many priests to perish in the bombardment.

Lotcar needs to ensure the survival of the priests for the expeditionary team.

Only with the priests alive can losses be minimized and follow-up combat capabilities sustained.
