Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

All the members of the expeditionary team were staring intently at the cave entrance.

With the efforts of Bai Jin and the other magicians, the egg-sized hole had expanded to the height of a person.

Through that opening, the expeditionary team could faintly see the outline of the Curse Sect’s emergency chapel.

Although only the outline was visible, it was enough.

As long as someone from the Curse Sect came out, the expeditionary team could react immediately.

Bai Jin raised her head; somehow, the magic power she had set on the barrier suddenly became turbulent.

It felt as if someone was trying to destroy the barrier from the inside.

Iyas’s shoulders began to tremble uncontrollably, and the fully drawn bow also shook slightly with her body.

She could sense the demon approaching, about to....

Without warning, a gigantic figure smashed through the Curse Sect’s gate, sand and rocks swept in, and the hole Bai Jin and her team had maintained spewed out a vast amount of dust.

The magic constituting the barrier shattered into pieces with a deafening roar, dissolving into countless sparkling light spots amidst the dense dust.

Yang Yu swiftly put on dust-proof glasses, covered his mouth and nose, and looked toward the source of the noise.

In the haze, a black flash flickered, and a demon over six meters tall, half-human, and half-lion, crossed the shattered church gate, passing straight through the broken barrier.

The demon drew closer, and the attributes of the demon gradually revealed themselves on Yang Yu’s display.

Marbas... Level 185?

Yang Yu had heard of the name Marbas.

He seemed to be the demon that leaves nothing hidden.

Like Beelzebub, Marbas’s attributes were exceptionally orderly, without any discrepancies.

Yang Yu grew increasingly convinced that demons, much like this world, were created with a specific purpose in mind.

His eyes kept darting across Marbas’s display as he sought to uncover Marbas’s weaknesses.

Upon seeing Marbas’s status bar, Yang Yu suddenly paused and inhaled sharply.

For a demon to possess a 30% resistance to Light Attribute, it was truly baffling.

Even more puzzling was the black armor Marbas wore.

Rather than armor, it was more akin to some form of biological mecha attached to his body.

Most of the time, Yang Yu couldn’t directly discern the quality and effects of the enemy’s equipment. It was only through touch and repeated battles that he could obtain information on the opponent’s equipment.

Currently, Yang Yu couldn’t see the attributes of the biological mecha on Marbas.

But Yang Yu knew that a demon equipped with such advanced technology was no ordinary foe.

Yang Yu held his breath, observing Marbas’s every move.

The half-human, half-lion demon Marbas stood still, his gaze sweeping over the thick dust and surrounding buildings, sneering,

”A total of six hundred and thirty-seven people, only thirty-five are worth noting?”

Marbas raised his arm, and the black armor on his shoulder shattered into numerous fragments, quickly crawling along his arm to his wrist. The black fragments layered and reassembled into a 16x4 missile launch apparatus.

The smoke gradually dispersed, and the figure of Marbas became visible to the expeditionary team.

The enormous demon instilled terror in many, but not a single member of the expeditionary team retreated.

If this demon were allowed to escape, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Many strong individuals were gathered here, and it was worth a try.

The members of the expeditionary team held their breath, ready to strike, waiting for Yang Yu’s command to attack.

This demon was no ordinary being; confronting it would inevitably result in heavy casualties.

But now Yang Yu and his team were uncertain whether the Curse Sect could continue summoning demons, and a hasty retreat would not only demoralize them but potentially bring about greater disasters.

Yang Yu was torn, with no time for extensive deliberation.

Strings of black filled Marbas’s 16x4 missile launch apparatus, forming a series of shells.

With the arrow on the string ready to be released, Yang Yu shouted, calling out to the ambushed personnel around,

”Everyone, attack!”

At Yang Yu’s command, countless spells and Holy Light blasted at Marbas from all directions.

Marbas did not evade, letting a barrage of spells and Holy Light explode on him, raising massive plumes of smoke.

Amidst the relentless attacks, Marbas loaded the final shell into the missile launch device,

”Rabble remains rabble.

Fighting opponents like you is not a battle; it is a massacre.”

Marbas gently shook the missile launch device in his hand, and countless black missiles emitted fiery tails, accompanied by smoke, ”whoosh——” shooting in all directions.

Unfolding the Illusion Shield, Yang Yu sprinted forward, leaping from the rooftop in an attempt to intercept the incoming missiles.

However, the missiles spread out at an incredible speed the moment they were discharged from the magazine.

No matter how rapidly Yang Yu moved, he couldn’t stop them and could only watch as the missiles expanded.

A special stream of light flashed across Yang Yu’s shield; he activated the Surface Coating, but Marbas’s missiles were far from a single-target magic attack.

The missile struck Yang Yu’s shield, detonating violently, and the powerful explosion hurled Yang Yu back to his previous position on the building.

Three bombs erupted sequentially around Yang Yu, completely obliterating the rooftop where he had just stood.

The remaining missiles mercilessly struck the streets, instantly demolishing numerous houses, stone and dust flying everywhere.

Those who made it here were the elite of the elite, with exceptional reflexes, but Marbas’s missiles had a vast attack range, and the explosions were incredibly fierce.

Even with Yang Yu employing his skills, he couldn’t fully avoid such attacks, let alone the others.

Sixty-four missiles rained down, reducing everything within a kilometer of Marbas to rubble.

Gloating over his handiwork, Marbas smiled as he assessed the damage inflicted on the enemy,

”Thirty-six dead, seventy-one wounded; this strike wasn’t too bad. Some individuals proved to be more tenacious than I imagined.”

Marbas waved his arm, transforming the missile launch device in his hand into countless black fragments, then reassembling it into a machine gun.

Some members of the expeditionary team, dazed, stood up, and Marbas pulled the trigger without hesitation.
