Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 338: Chapter 338 What Exactly Are You Trying to Say?

Sena took out a biscuit from her pocket and fed it to the small snake hanging around her neck.

”Demons are a kind of very magical creatures. If you can fight shoulder to shoulder with them, they can greatly enhance the team’s combat capability. Becoming friends with them, when you face danger, they will definitely throw themselves in the way to lend you a hand, saving your life.

In short, first take a look at what your demon looks like.

Not to boast, but I am an expert on demons. I can tell at a glance whether they are in good condition.

Even if you don’t want to fight with me, I can still teach you some knowledge on how to maintain the health of your demons.”

There’s a limit to being nosy, or is it that she’s purely interested in what sort of demon I have?

Yang Yu heaved a long sigh; the woman in front of him was more persistent than he had imagined and was not likely to let him go easily.

”Let me ask, what happens if I refuse again? Will you still insist on going to see my demon with me?”

Sena smiled, ”Why would I?”

Then, she pointed specifically at her own eyes,

”My eyes usually can’t see the magic power that exists in the air; I can only see it under certain specific conditions. But as long as there is magic power inside a living creature, no matter whether it belongs to them or not, I can see it clearly.

Moreover, I can accurately distinguish the different magic powers flowing inside each person.”

Yang Yu had an ominous premonition, ”What exactly are you trying to say?”

Sena raised her hand to cover her mouth, and said with a mischievous smile,

”Even if you refuse me now, I can still follow your steps and find out where you and your demon are.

You can try playing a game of hide and seek with me.

I love playing hide and seek; when I’m ’it’, I can catch everyone in an instant.”

”You really can say something quite terrifying with a smile. Are you that interested in me and my demon? Following me like this, it doesn’t sound very nice if word gets out,”

”Is that so? Then I’ll be careful to keep my distance, pretending to accidentally walk behind you, bumping into you unexpectedly,”

Yang Yu smiled helplessly, indeed a pretty troublesome ability; it looked like there was no way to escape those discerning eyes.

This was already an unavoidable event.

Since there was no way to resist, the only option was to open up and enjoy it.

Getting on good terms with someone who has such a magical ability wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

”I got it, I’ll take you to meet my demon, but you must promise to only look and not lay a finger on my demon.”

”I promise.”

There really are people in the world who love to meddle!

Watching Sena cheerfully twirl her umbrella handle, Yang Yu sighed helplessly; he had also realized that Sena meant no harm, but just because there was no malice now didn’t mean there wouldn’t be any in the future.

As an adventurer, interests always overlap.

There was no guarantee that Sena, who was so keen to become his master now, would still show him a smile then.

Luo reached out a hand toward Luo, who was sulking to one side, and understanding the gesture, leaped into Sena’s arms to be held in her warm embrace.

As always, being in Sena’s arms was soft and warm, but it did nothing to improve Luo’s mood. ”Master, is it really necessary to go to such lengths for this man? He clearly resents us helping him, so why bother?”

”The profession of a Monster Tamer is quite rare.

His contract is still weak—one looks like it was signed a few months ago, and the other, probably less than a month old. He’s a newcomer who has just stepped into the threshold of being a Monster Tamer. As seniors, we need to guide him properly. No matter what his reasons are for becoming a Monster Tamer, if he can’t get along with demons, he can’t continue on this path.

In that case, the world will lose a potentially outstanding Monster Tamer in the future. Don’t worry, I have a feeling that he must be a Monster Tamer with tremendous potential.

The world I yearn for, where all demons can understand each other, will definitely come.”

...

...

Following Yang Yu, Sena arrived at the inn where Yang Yu and his companions were staying.

The inn was ordinary, located on the outskirts of the city with little guest traffic. At this time, one could hardly see anyone walking on the streets, and with no night markets in operation, the area seemed rather deserted.

No inn was willing to accommodate an evidently fierce giant wolf demon.

In the end, Yang Yu was forced to use his financial ability, agreeing to pay the innkeeper five times the usual rate and to let Lotcar stay in a more concealed storeroom, ensuring it would not cause any trouble. Only then did the innkeeper reluctantly agree to accommodate them.

Upon arriving at the inn, Sena immediately felt the immense magical power hidden within the storeroom. She was eager to go to the storeroom first to see what Yang Yu’s demon looked like, but Yang Yu asked her to wait a moment.

Yang Yu had to greet Bai Jin and Iyas first, to prepare them not to speak out of turn and avoid unnecessary troubles.

But before Yang Yu could step into the inn, Iyas, who had been waiting in the inn’s lobby, heard the conversation between Yang Yu and Sena and couldn’t wait to step out of the inn,

”Yang Yu, have you finished investigating everything? When can we set off?”

No sooner had Iyas spoken than she saw Sena not far from Yang Yu. Her first reaction was that Yang Yu was getting involved with another strange girl.

”These two must be your partners, right?”

Sena greeted Iyas and Bai Jin, who was close behind,

”I’m sorry for disturbing you so late at night. My name is Sena, and I’m a Monster Tamer. It’s an honor to meet you both.”

After speaking, Sena’s gaze lingered on Iyas for a while, attracting Iyas’s attention,

”What’s the matter? I remember this is our first meeting. Why are you staring at me incessantly?”

”Nothing much,” Sena smiled, ”I just noticed that the Magic Power on you is somewhat special, so I took an extra moment to look. To be precise, it isn’t even that special of a Magic Power. Anyone loved by the gods nowadays would display a similar Magic Power to yours.

You truly are deeply loved by the gods; I have never seen such strong Holy Light. And this young lady next to you, I can tell she has an exceptional talent for magic.”

Saying this, Sena turned her gaze to Yang Yu,

”You really do have two remarkable partners.”

Sena was full of praise for Iyas and Bai Jin. In comparison, the Magic Power contained within Yang Yu was much weaker, making him stick out like a sore thumb in the team.

If I’m not mistaken, one of Yang Yu’s demons resides within the hat of that girl who looks a bit worrisome.

It was a considerably powerful being, arguably the strongest in the team.

”Miss, could you show me the demon tucking away behind your hat? I would like to see up close what kind of demon it really is.”
