Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 328: Chapter 328: Rebellious Phase

Having spent several days in Amulotdan, Yang Yu waited quietly for Iyas to complete her training.

Rococo had completed her training long ago, but out of consideration for Yang Yu’s face, she still stayed and taught Iyas some tricks to master the Holy Light.

Not until Sekamens was ready with the strategy for the goblin maze did Rococo stop teaching Iyas and let her continue the rest of her training with the nun who had once taught her.

However...

”I have now fully understood and mastered the Path of Priest. Isn’t it time to set out to find my brother?”

On the fifth day at the cathedral, an excited Iyas ran to Yang Yu to show him the fruits of her training.

Iyas raised her right hand, and a rich white light blossomed forth.

This incredibly holy light was incomparable to that of anyone else’s. Even the nun who taught Iyas marveled that the power of Iyas’ Holy Light might well match that of the past Holy Maidens.

Seeing Iyas’ Holy Light, the bishop from the church even came out personally to ask Iyas to stay, offering to write her a recommendation to the archbishop, to have her trained as a candidate for the Holy Maiden.

Iyas refused without hesitation.

She had no interest in such things. What she wanted now was to rescue her brother as soon as possible and transport Hake to safety.

Since the bishop himself had recognized her abilities, Iyas naturally assumed that she was ready to graduate, so she boldly sought out Yang Yu and urged him to set out immediately.

Yang Yu looked at the Holy Light flickering in Iyas’ hands and then opened his panel to check her skills list. Iyas was extraordinarily talented, having learned three skills in just five days.

”Holy Light Arrow” forms a sharp arrow from Holy Light, shattering darkness and having a certain probability of directly breaking the opponent’s shield.

”Holy Punishment” hurls the Holy Light in one’s hand at the enemy, inflicting damage that ignores 80% of the enemy’s Magic Resistance.

”Holy Nova” emanates ripples of Holy Light from oneself, dealing damage while repelling enemies.

My god, what has she been learning all this time?

Why are they all Attack Skills? What about the buffs and Healing I’ve been so eager to see? Not even one is here?

Yang Yu felt dizzy,

”Iyas.”

”What? I have done as you said and mastered the Path of Priest. Don’t you think of going back on your word. Now it’s your turn to keep your promise and find my brother!”

Quenching the Holy Light in her hand, Iyas displayed the skills she had learned.

If Iyas weren’t a girl, and there weren’t so many people watching right now, Yang Yu would have dragged her out for a beating long ago.

”Iyas, have you not learned even one Healing Skill? When I told you to follow Rococo and master the Path of Priest, didn’t you listen at all?”

”Huh? Haven’t I done exactly as you said?” retorted an indignant Iyas, standing her ground,

”Even the archbishop said I have an exceptional talent and that I quickly mastered the use of Holy Light, stepping onto the Path of Priest. What do you have to complain about?

Besides, you never said I had to learn Healing Skills. You just told me to quickly master the Path of Priest.

Priests come in many varieties, after all. I just learned the kind that would make me stronger.

Priests who follow the offensive path also have a nice-sounding name - they’re called Punishment Priests, driving out darkness and bringing light to people. It sounds powerful and fits my identity as a warrior.”

”I’ve learned these three Skills, and I feel like my strength has made a qualitative leap.”

Yang Yu let out a long sigh, looking resentfully at Iyas.

Do you really want to focus on Attack that much?

If that’s the case, you might as well abandon the Holy Light completely and embrace the Darkness.

Dark Priests have a pretty strong Attack side. Then, I could also just kick you out of the team, clear and simple.

Iyas was making Yang Yu so angry that he was almost speechless.

After a while, he consoled himself, saying that it was normal to have one or two infuriating characters in a game; one must stay calm—taking things too seriously is a loss.

Hmm...

I wonder if there’s any tool in this world that can change a person’s gender.

If there really is one, then there’s no need to worry about beating up a beauty and then being condemned as a villain when someone else plays the hero to save her. There would be no concern about social condemnation for hitting Iyas.

At worst, at that time one could say, ”How was I supposed to know such a tool existed? I thought a handsome guy was craving my body, pretending to be my companion to get close to me.

Back then, I was just dragging a scammer out for a beating, how could I have known the truth would be like this?

I ask you, if you were in my place, wouldn’t you act the same way?”

Thinking about such messy things in his head, Yang Yu finally calmed down again and looked at the ”innocent” Iyas,

”Generally speaking, when people talk about a Priest, they’re referring to a healer who can also provide team benefits, not some Punishment Priest.

Even though there are several Priest factions, couldn’t you have asked for my opinion before deciding? Asked clearly which path to take to contribute to the team.”

Iyas pouted, ”Not everything has to be based on your opinion. I have my own judgment, and I think this is the best; therefore, it is the best.”

”You, this person...”

I really should drag you out for a beating.

Looking at Yang Yu with a face full of resentment, Iyas said:

”After all, it was your lack of clarity at the beginning. I have fully mastered the Path of Priest as you said, learned to use the Holy Light, and now it’s your turn to keep your promise. We’ve already wasted nearly a week here; we can’t delay any longer.

I want to stress again that I have completely mastered the use of Holy Light. If you still want me to continue learning with these nuns here, I refuse.

Even if I have to do it alone, I will rescue Hake! I don’t want to waste any more time!”

Yang Yu sighed deeply again.

He had originally thought that Iyas would follow his suggestions and learn at least a few Healing Skills, grasping the essence of the saying, ”As long as I live, no one will suffer.”

Yet, Iyas had to pull such a stunt out of spite.

This person knew well enough what kind of Priest their team needed, but still defiantly went against his instructions, abandoning Healing Skills and relentlessly enhancing Attack.

Now, it was impossible to make Iyas start over and learn again.

With her attitude, even if she were to learn it all over again, it would probably end with the same result.

Rebellious kids are really hard to deal with.

”I understand. Let’s set sail to find your brother. I only hope that no matter what happens along the way, you never come to regret your decision today.”
