Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 316: Chapter 316: Does He Take It to Heart?

The carriage swayed leisurely down the road, with the towering figure of Lotcar capturing attention as usual.

It had been exactly one day since leaving the All Things Library. Driving Lotcar leisurely, Yang Yu followed his own designed route and looked back at Bai Jin,

”Bai Jin, you’re a Curse Mage too. You must know something about curses, concerning the curse on Lotcar. Do you have any clues?”

Bai Jin shook her head, ”I’m sorry, I have never heard of such a curse.”

”Since you know how to cast curses, do you know how to lift them?”

After pondering for a moment, Bai Jin replied,

”Generally speaking, there are specific methods to lifting a curse.

If you act rashly without understanding, it is very likely that the curse will worsen.

The best way is to find the caster and learn the method to lift the curse from them.

Some curses can also be lifted by simply killing the caster.”

”That’s really troublesome. From Lotcar’s description, it seems his cousin placed the curse on him, but the source of the curse may not necessarily be his cousin.

His race’s skills are mostly physical, relying on overwhelming opponents with great strength and endurance; their control over magic is not so proficient.

To cast such a stable Curse Magic indicates that someone else placed the curse on Lotcar.”

Searching for related knowledge in his mind, Yang Yu continued to question Bai Jin,

”Bai Jin, is there an organization similar to the Curse Sect in this world? If it’s a professional Curse Mage, perhaps they could unlock the curse on Lotcar.”

Bai Jin furrowed her brows and struggled for a while before she shared what she knew with Yang Yu,

”There indeed exists the Curse Sect in this world, a dangerous sect that worships the Catastrophe Witch and demons. My master warned me during his lifetime, to absolutely avoid that sect at all costs.

Even if someone comes to invite you, you must firmly reject them and never join that sect.

In short, it is an extremely dangerous organization with vast roots and fanatic believers; you cannot easily eradicate them.

Moreover, if an attack on them fails, their retaliation will be furious.

The best thing to do is to steer clear of them.”

”The Catastrophe Witch, huh...”

Yang Yu remembered this title. Below the Hani Maze, guarding the Magic Hall, was the Catastrophe Witch, who was once a companion of the Hero.

Regardless of her relation to the Catastrophe Witch, the Curse Sect sounded like a large Experience Bag to Yang Yu.

As long as he grew strong enough in the future and collected enough Racial Essence, he could harvest the entire Curse Sect and enclose their sweet Experience Value all for himself.

”Dangerous it may be, but the very existence of the Curse Sect is a misery for this world. Seeking faith itself is not a bad thing, but when one sacrifices the happiness of others for their own beliefs, that turns into a cult.

”We absolutely cannot allow such an organization to persist in this world. If we have the chance in the future, we must eradicate it completely.”

Beside him, Iyas, hearing Yang Yu speak so righteously, said irritably,

”Don’t pretend, that’s not the kind of thing you normally say. You’re probably just interested in seeing if they have any treasures and using them as a stepping stone for your growth.”

”Tsk, you found me out.” With a reluctant smile, Yang Yu continued, ”Alright, I admit there is an element of that.

But I just want to deal with them before the Demon King arrives, to lighten the world’s burden.

An organization like that, if it learns that demons are aligned with the Demon King’s forces, will certainly try to defect and hope for the new order the Demon King brings.

To prevent the world from becoming more chaotic, it is quite necessary to handle them beforehand.

And we can also look for any strange treasures they might have, to consider them as spoils of war.”

”It would have been better to just tell the truth from the start instead of beating around the bush. You’re making me feel like you’re not yourself anymore.”

Iyas said with annoyance, her gaze followed the winding road that stretched forward to the horizon. As she got closer to the destination, she became more restless,

”How much longer until we reach the first auction house? There should be some clues about Hake there, right? Once we have those clues, we can track them down.”

Slowly turning his head, Yang Yu also looked at the road stretching ahead and said,

”Don’t worry, before we go to look for Hake, I want to learn a new Skill, to make up for the shortcomings in our offense. You should also learn some new Skills.”

During his research at the All Things Library, Yang Yu discovered many interesting and practical skills, with Iyas’s chosen destination being close to a critical skill location.

If he could successfully acquire that one skill, Yang Yu’s combat strength would be greatly improved, and he wouldn’t have to worry about his attacks being as ineffective as scraping an itch.

Coincidentally, there was a large church near that location where one could learn many Holy Light System skills. If Iyas could learn the Holy Light System skills, it would significantly increase the team’s margin for error, and bring greater stability to the whole party, truly achieving the iron triangle of Warrior, Mage, Priest.

However, upon hearing that Yang Yu had decided to take a detour, Iyas was extremely displeased and strongly opposed Yang Yu’s decision,

”I think the Skills we have now are enough, capable of dealing with most situations. There’s no need to learn other Skills. The priority now is to quickly find clues about my brother; there’s no point in wasting time on that. Strengthening our power is something that can be done at any time.”

”It won’t take too much time. Precisely because we’re going to look for your brother, we urgently need to improve our strength. You don’t know what kind of formidable challenges we’ll be facing; a slight mistake could lead to complete annihilation.”

Yang Yu’s expression was earnest as he tried to soothe and persuade Iyas.

But Iyas remained discontent, crossing her arms within the carriage.

However, she was helpless; it was difficult to change what Yang Yu had decided by his own volition.

Yang Yu was currently driving the carriage, and she couldn’t exactly go and snatch the reins from him, forcing Lotcar to obey her and head straight for the Sunrise Guild’s auction house.

Iyas knew Yang Yu’s strength, and if it wasn’t for him, she might not even be standing here; she had an indescribable sense of gratitude towards him.

But despite this, her restlessness pushed her to confirm that Hake was safe and sound.

Observing Yang Yu so at ease, even though she didn’t want to doubt him, she couldn’t help but wonder if Yang Yu really took her brother’s matter to heart.
