The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1400: Chapter 1400: Not Joining Us for Lunch?

Nathalie Quinlan’s eyelids drooped slightly, very politely: ”Really, there’s no need. I have a friend coming later, I’ll wait for them to come and we’ll eat together.”

A friend...

For some reason, Jackson Wafford thought of the time in the Illegal Zone, when Nathalie Quinlan had said something similar, that a friend was coming.

Soon enough, her friend arrived, and it was one of the main members of the Red Alliance.

”Alright then. If you need us to take you, just send me or your Mr. Dunn a message.”

Jackson Wafford didn’t ask much about who her so-called friend was, instead recalling something, his gaze occasionally shifting towards Nathalie Quinlan, finding it a bit difficult to speak: ”Um... Nathalie, did you hear about the news of the Gondwana contestant Aiden withdrawing?”

Nathalie Quinlan sat there cross-legged, one hand propped against her face, her head tilted, her dark eyes showing a hint of surprise, her voice slightly hoarse, sounding quite unexpected: ”Aiden withdrew?”

Seeing that she seemed unaware of this matter, Jackson Wafford sighed in relief and said, ”Yes. The news came half an hour ago, I just heard about it myself.”

Jackson Wafford glanced at her again: ”...Nathalie, I heard from your Mr. Dunn that you encountered them before coming up here, and Aiden even greeted you.”

”...” Nathalie Quinlan knitted her brows, her gaze somewhat troubled.

This @ilovebeingskinny guy... could probably make a good development in the Red Light District of Inderia.

Not the brightest, just right to raise money to see to his brain, so that he doesn’t spend every day like a rebellious teenager, causing trouble even from afar in the Illegal Zone...

Seeing her silence, Jackson Wafford once again felt his heart in his throat, looking at Nathalie Quinlan, unable to hide the complex emotions on his face: ”You...”

He couldn’t help but again think of Nathalie Quinlan’s friend from the Illegal Zone!

Aiden was a top hacker in the top twenty of the Heavenly Ranking, also a member of the Red Alliance, although not a main member, Nathalie Quinlan knew the main member @ilovebeingskinny.

He couldn’t help wondering if Nathalie Quinlan had privately asked @ilovebeingskinny to come forward and make Aiden withdraw before the competition.

This matter, he hadn’t thought much about.

Just didn’t expect Nathalie Quinlan to have such a good relationship with the Red Alliance!

”Don’t feel any pressure, I was just casually asking, if you don’t want to say, it’s fine.” Jackson Wafford was very considerate, seeing Nathalie Quinlan silent, worried she might feel troubled by his words, hurriedly waved his hand, eyebrows raised, lips smiling, gently changing the topic: ”Are you really not going to have lunch with us?”

Nathalie Quinlan moved this time, changing her sitting pose, her fair face quite noticeable, and said: ”Really not going. My friend is about to arrive.”

”Alright.” Seeing she was really not going, Jackson Wafford nodded, didn’t force her, walked over, silently patted the girl’s shoulder, softly said: ”Don’t feel too pressured about tomorrow’s competition. After Aiden withdrew, the most competitive one left is Maxcel, who is sure to win this competition’s championship. Mr. Dunn and I only wish for your happiness.”

Jackson Wafford came over this time not just to ask Nathalie Quinlan if she wanted to eat, but to relax her mood, comfort her.

”As long as you enjoy yourself, and gain growth from this competition, we will be satisfied.” He raised his hand again, patted the girl’s shoulder, steadily and firmly spoke: ”So don’t put too much pressure on yourself.”

”Mm, thank you Mr. Wafford, I’m not pressured.” Nathalie Quinlan wore a Duckbill Cap, as she lowered her head slightly, her eyes were shaded by the brim.

Seeing she really wasn’t under pressure, Jackson Wafford felt reassured.

”It’s good that you’re not pressured.”
