The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1374: Chapter 1374: Someone Sent Her a Text Message

”I...” Mrs. Gordon hesitated about whether to speak, her eyes flickering.

Thomas Gordon took a deep breath and sternly scolded her: ”Hurry up and speak! If you tell me now, I can still help find a solution. If you don’t, just wait for The Gordons to go down with you.”

Mrs. Gordon lifted her head several times, unable to believe it, but looking at her husband’s grim face and solemn expression, she felt the matter seemed really serious.

”I... I don’t know who sent me the text message, telling me if I want to take revenge for Mateo, I should transfer 500,000 to the account provided. I sent the money, and the message said someone would naturally give Nathalie Quinlan a lesson.”

Mrs. Gordon found her phone and handed it to him, letting him see for himself. Then she mumbled next to him: ”Before you came back, someone I don’t know came to our family to deliver a package to me, then left after handing it over.”

Thomas Gordon quickly asked her, ”Where’s the package? Give it to me.”

Mrs. Gordon wasted no time, found the box given by the ’delivery person’ just earlier, and handed it to her husband.

Thomas Gordon saw the package’s outer layer was still sealed, his expression heavy, shaking the box in his hand lightly. It seemed there was nothing inside.

With a grave expression, he ripped open the plastic bag outside the package, opened the paper box inside, and found only a few sheets of paper.

He furrowed his brow, initially puzzled why someone had gone to the trouble of delivering these.

Once he clearly saw the contents on the papers, his heart sank abruptly.

”What’s written on it?” Mrs. Gordon craned to take a look.

She only saw the first sheet printed with the transaction record from her account.

Another sheet printed with the examination report of the driver’s terminal cancer.

The report clearly stated that the large truck driver himself was already in the late stages of liver cancer, not long for this world.

Mrs. Gordon still didn’t understand what the purpose of giving her these things was: ”What does this mean? Why did they give me this?”

”What for?” Thomas Gordon was at a loss, entirely baffled, turning to look at her, seemingly speechless: ”You don’t know what they’re doing by giving you this?”

Mrs. Gordon shook her head: ”I don’t know.”

Thomas Gordon: ”...”

Thomas Gordon crumpled the two sheets of paper in his hand into balls, angrily threw them into the trash bin, his temples pulsating, turning back, and gritted his teeth saying to her: ”They’re telling us that our family is set to take the fall for this!”

Mrs. Gordon still looked bewildered, saying: ”Husband, it’s not, not that serious, right?”

”...”

What does she think?

Could she believe this matter could still end well!

Thomas Gordon reacted relatively quickly, knowing that the priority was to urgently find out who was causing trouble, not get caught up in arguments with the woman.

He immediately called a contact from his technical assistance team, after finishing the call, he said to Mrs. Gordon: ”Give me your phone.”

Mrs. Gordon hurried to pick up the phone she had given him earlier from the table.

Thomas Gordon took it and powered it on, intending to find the text message he saw before.

Who would have thought, he pressed for a long time, but the phone screen remained dark, not lighting up.

Holding the unresponsive phone, he raised his hand to ask Mrs. Gordon: ”Didn’t you charge your phone?”

Mrs. Gordon took it from his hand, tried it again herself, still failed to power it on, puzzled, she said: ”Huh, why won’t it turn on.”
