The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1377: Chapter 1377: Nathalie Can’t Compete Anymore

”Nathalie Quinlan? I don’t know.”

Celine Tucker heard her mention Nathalie Quinlan’s name and leaned out of the car, ears pricked to listen.

”I haven’t gone over yet. I had some matters to attend to at school with my mom. Hmm? This... I can only try; it might not work. Auntie, rest assured, I’ll do my best.”

When Caryn Zachmann saw her hang up the phone, she perked up and asked, ”What’s up? Whose call was that?”

Caryn Zachmann, feeling better, raised the corner of her mouth and replied, ”Mrs. Gordon’s.”

An inscrutable gleam flashed through Celine Tucker’s eyes: ”Why did she call you?”

Caryn Zachmann put away her phone casually and said, ”She had someone hit Nathalie with a car, but Nathalie caught onto it, and now they’re looking to settle the score. She came begging me to speak to Nathalie on her behalf.”

Caryn Zachmann said disdainfully, ”There’s no way I would plead for her with Nathalie. She’s overthinking her importance. I call her ’aunt’ out of respect for her age, but I never expected her to have the nerve to ask me that.”

Previously, when Mrs. Gordon called about Mateo Gordon, she carefully offered a few kind words because of her guilty conscience.

Now that the Gordons were about to fall, she had nothing to fear.

In her eyes, Mrs. Gordon posed no threat, and she couldn’t be bothered to entertain her.

However...

Caryn Zachmann smiled, a trace of sarcasm spreading across her lips: ”Dad called earlier saying that Nathalie had been in a car accident. I hadn’t thought much of it. I didn’t expect it was Mrs. Gordon who arranged it. She usually seems so timid, but she dared to have someone try to kill Nathalie for Mateo.”

”Tsk, the hearts of parents are truly pitiful!” Caryn spoke with feigned compassion while her expression betrayed a schadenfreude.

Then, she gritted her teeth and said regretfully, ”It’s a shame that Nathalie’s luck saved her from death. From what Mrs. Gordon said, it seems Nathalie only got her right arm injured, and not seriously. Just a minor injury, no broken arm or wrist, unlike Mateo, who got his arm broken in the detention center. Her heart is really too vicious.”

Celine Tucker quietly listened all along. When she heard that Mateo Gordon’s arm was broken, her expression remained calm and even somewhat indifferent, saying, ”Indeed, some people are always this lucky. Otherwise, why do they say good people die young, and evils last a thousand years!”

A dark shade again clouded Caryn Zachmann’s brow.

This was how she had been for the past week. Every time she thought of Nathalie’s good fortune, she couldn’t help but show an uncontrolled expression.

Celine Tucker, seeing the hatred on her face, felt a bit of heartache, held her wrist, and softly comforted her, ”Caryn, don’t think too much. She’s just a menace! She won’t always be this lucky; one day, she won’t escape.”

”Besides, this time she injured her hand, so she definitely can’t participate in the software competition. Wasn’t she showing off by representing the country in the competition before?”

Celine Tucker couldn’t hide her smug tone: ”Now, it’s good. She can’t compete, and when the news is out, netizens won’t care why her hand got injured. There’ll be nothing but scolding online. The prouder she was before, the harder she’ll fall then!”

”Don’t get involved in this matter; let’s just enjoy watching the spectacle.” She made sure to remind Caryn Zachmann.
