The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1389: Chapter 1389: Nathalie Quinlan Insists on Competing Herself

The Gordons have no idea who they’ve offended this time, but they were destroyed overnight.

He heard that even Caryn Zachmann had dropped out, indicating that this matter is not simple.

Jackson Wafford reached up to press his temples, seemingly surprised that even Leo Dunn sensed that Beijing has been unstable lately. He didn’t say much to him, thinking Leo might not grasp the deeper issues, and only said, ”Nathalie Quinlan’s hand is injured.”

”Her right wrist has a fractured bone and has been in a cast for the past few days. It will take ten days to two weeks to heal enough to remove the cast, so it will definitely affect her competition performance.”

”Then...”

Before Leo Dunn could speak, Jackson Wafford interrupted him with a steady tone, ”Mr. Yancey also called me, and many people have mentioned this to me in recent days. But I privately asked Nathalie, and her opinion is that she can still compete! When the involved person herself says she can, I have no reason to stop her.”

Leo Dunn did not expect Nathalie to insist on participating in the competition and was momentarily speechless.

”Her making it to the finals this time is already bringing glory to our country, so let’s not overthink it. Keep a good mindset, regardless of the final results, we will definitely stand by the student’s side. Don’t you agree?”

”Of course,” Leo Dunn replied without thinking.

Seeing Jackson Wafford so calm in the face of this unexpected situation calmed him down too, making his heart feel less anxious. He relaxed and looked towards the entrance.

”The announcement is notifying us to check in, yet we don’t know when Nathalie will arrive.”

”She should be here soon,” Jackson Wafford looked at the time on his phone, quite composed, as he’s already accustomed to Nathalie arriving just in time.

Indeed.

Within just a few minutes of their conversation, a girl with a single shoulder bag appeared at the entrance of the T1 Terminal.

September’s weather is hot.

The girl was dressed simply, still in her usual T-shirt and black pants, with a duckbill cap on her head, looking clean and crisp, without any luggage, and walked towards them.

Leo Dunn saw the cast on her right hand, and his heart sank a bit. However, since Jackson Wafford had already prepared him, seeing the cast on Nathalie’s hand, although disappointing, didn’t cause too much anxiety.

He hurried up to her with big strides, ”Nathalie, you’re here? I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”

Nathalie had her left hand in her pocket and struck a rather cool pose. Upon seeing him, she removed her earphones and greeted him very politely, ”Mr. Dunn.”

”Sorry, the traffic jammed a bit on the way.”

”No problem, no problem!” Leo Dunn tried to avoid looking at her injured right hand, smiled, and said heartily, ”We also got stuck in traffic, as it’s rush hour; traffic is quite normal. Since you’re here, shall we first go get the tickets?”

He originally thought Nathalie would bring luggage, as girls usually do love to carry various clothes or skincare products when traveling. His daughter, every time she goes out, carries bags of various sizes, bringing more things than he and his wife combined.

Considering Nathalie might also bring a lot of things, he hadn’t yet processed the luggage check, planning to help her with her luggage when picking up the airplane tickets later.

Who knew Nathalie just would head out with a backpack.

Leo Dunn curiously glanced at the girl’s single shoulder bag, only to feel it looked light and wondered what exactly was inside, as if nothing at all.

”Okay,” Nathalie joined them in sitting in business class this time. She had no objections, very agreeable as she followed the two.
