The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1381: Chapter 1381: He Actually Has the Nerve to Make This Request of Nathalie

”Are the Gordons responsible for the accident with Nathalie?” Audrick’s question became increasingly direct, and his tone wasn’t very friendly.

It’s no wonder Audrick’s tone wasn’t nice.

The Gordons orchestrated an accident with Nathalie Quinlan, and his father even passed on a message from the Gordons to Nathalie. What does his father mean by this?

”Mateo Gordon had his girlfriend steal Nathalie’s competition USB flash drive. Nathalie didn’t bother them, and they still arranged for someone to drive into Nathalie?!”

Audrick felt like he couldn’t catch his breath, his face burning, utterly embarrassed by his grandfather and uncle’s expressions, let alone facing Nathalie.

He was infuriated: ”Heh, they orchestrated an accident with Nathalie and haven’t apologized, yet you pass on their message. Quite audacious! If they’re so capable, why don’t they ascend to heaven?”

”Things aren’t how you think.” Leonardy raised his hand, pinched the bridge of his nose again, seemingly reluctant, explaining to Nathalie: ”Mateo Gordon’s father originally planned to come to the hospital specifically to apologize to you. Yet before he arrived, he got taken away. Before being taken, he called me, pleading for me to convey his apology to you.”

”His wife hasn’t seen much of the world and was ignorant, causing such a big issue. Nathalie, is there a way you could...”

Leonardy managed to start saying this, and Audrick couldn’t bear listening any longer, immediately interrupting him and incredulously questioning him: ”Dad, are you insane?!”

”Do you expect Nathalie to just let it go?”

”Do you realize that large truck was driving the wrong way, heading directly toward Nathalie? If she hadn’t reacted quickly, grabbing the steering wheel... do you know what the results could have been?”

Audrick was on the verge of an outburst: ”In such a situation, you’re still speaking for the Gordons? What are you thinking?”

Leonardy was well aware of how unreasonable his request was.

The reason he braced himself to speak to Nathalie purely came from his own inner guilt.

Thomas Gordon had hinted in a phone call that this mishap involving the Gordons was inextricably linked to Caryn Zachmann.

Mateo’s detention wasn’t necessarily bad.

Even the investigation into the Gordons wasn’t bad!

Essentially, all was to defend Caryn Zachmann.

Now that the Gordons were unlucky, if he said nothing, it seemed too cold and heartless, and speaking out wouldn’t sound good.

Leonardy raised his eyes again, looking at the girl seated on the bench with difficulty, speaking in a warm and gentle voice: ”Nathalie, I know I shouldn’t be passing on the message for him. I was merely considering your minor injuries, hence reluctantly mentioning it...”

Audrick’s face turned green beside him.

Listening to what his father said, was this even human speech?!

Nathalie was lucky, sustaining only minor injuries, and thus he can ask Nathalie to forgive the Gordons?

Is he implying that should Nathalie be unfortunate enough to be killed by the car, he would then criticize the Gordons for not behaving as humans?

Nathalie remained with her usual indifferent expression, without immediately expressing an opinion.

Leonardy saw that she wasn’t as agitated as Audrick, seemingly appearing flexible, and he persisted: ”Nathalie, considering my face, could you forgive the Gordons? Handle Mrs. Gordon as you see fit...”

He repeatedly handed over this request, initially, Nathalie wanted to spare him some dignity, not wanting to embarrass him in front of Mr. Zachmann, Stanley Zachmann, and even Audrick.

However, since he was adamant, Nathalie didn’t spare him any further.

Nathalie’s voice was very calm, leaving no room for negotiation: ”No.”

Simple and straightforward.

Quite cold.

Leonardy was a bit taken aback by her refusal, momentarily unable to react: ”Nathalie I...”
