The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 798: Chapter 798: Amadeus: Exercising the Rights of a Boyfriend First_1

Nathalie Quinlan pursed her lips, falling silent for a moment.

”I’m about to take the college entrance exams.”

In those few seconds of her silence, the man’s back had tensed up, his mood shifting erratically, his heart suspended mid-air, dependent on her next words to either soar to the clouds or plunge into hell.

Unexpectedly, her answer wasn’t especially good, but it wasn’t bad either.

”Is the college entrance exam important to you?” As the top scorer in Tsinghua University’s Joint Entrance Exam, Nathalie Quinlan’s participation in the college entrance exams was merely a formality for No. 1 Middle School.

”Hm?” Nathalie Quinlan had never seen this kind of confession before, where the confessor was more aggressive and proactive than the recipient. She tempered the restlessness in her eyes, silently for two seconds, then looked at him again, wickedly arrogant: ”It’s quite important. I don’t want to rank second.”

”I’m about to take the college entrance exams, and I’ll definitely need time to review.”

This answer was within reason but also somewhat perfunctory.

Mr. Yancey was never one to be easily fooled. With narrowed eyes and no concession, he said, ”Then after the exams, I can wait.”

Nathalie Quinlan paused: ”I didn’t say that.” She only mentioned preparing for the exams, but never said she would respond to him immediately after.

Amadeus Yancey smiled, lips curving, the light in his eyes shifting, as he reached out to brush away the short hair sliding down her forehead. He then had the audacity to twist a girl’s hair, chuckling, ”There’s half a month left. Review well, and I’ll wait for your answer after the exams.”

Nathalie Quinlan: ”...”

Hadn’t she just said otherwise? Did he not need to listen to people when they spoke????

Why bother with her considering anything at all; he might as well decide by himself.

Feeling rather provoked, she was about to speak when suddenly, a faint scent of liquor assailed her, and she heard the man’s raspy voice drawing closer.

”Before that, I want to claim my boyfriend’s privileges in advance.”

”Uh...”

Before she could react, a burning sensation pressed against her lips, just a touch, like an electric shock. Nathalie Quinlan’s mind went blank, she instinctively clenched her hand but hadn’t yet reacted.

The man had already turned his head aside, stepping back, his arm lowered, not pinning her against the car anymore, carrying on as if nothing had happened, reverting to his usual lofty and languorous demeanor. He opened the car door, hand resting on it, his manner casual: ”Sadam Vinson wants to invite you for a drink; he found me here. Will you go?”

”...” Nathalie Quinlan couldn’t understand how he managed to make harassment seem so natural and smooth, yet still talk to her with such composure afterward.

Clearly, he was just a wolf in sheep’s clothing, just that his scholarly appearance was greatly deceiving, and no one had realized that yet.

Not far from the Imperial Hotel, there was a restaurant with a private room where people mingled, and Ivy Wilmar was chatting with Steven and others.

Ghania Quinlan, under the pretext of going to the restroom, stepped out for some air.

She turned on the faucet, washing the back of her hands, and for some reason, the image of the figure she saw earlier at the entrance of the Imperial Hotel flashed in her mind.

Although Ivy Wilmar said that person couldn’t have been Nathalie, she couldn’t shake an uneasy feeling that lingered.

Ghania Quinlan bit her lip, staring at the increasingly composed reflection in the mirror. Turning off the faucet, she dug out her Phone from the handbag she carried around, and after rummaging for a while, she found Kelly Giovanni’s phone number.

Ever since the Joint Entrance Exam results came out a month ago and Nathalie’s scores crushed hers, she hadn’t been in contact with anyone from her old school.

After only a moment’s hesitation, she dialed the number.

The call connected, but the other party didn’t answer and quickly hung up.

Ghania Quinlan wasn’t in a hurry. She checked the time. No. 1 Middle School should be in class. Patiently waiting a few minutes, as expected, Kelly Giovanni soon called back, their tone lighthearted.

”Hey, Ghania, I was just in class; didn’t dare to answer during the old hag’s lecture. I snuck out. What’s up? You need something?”

Ghania Quinlan, with softened eyes and voice, asked lowly: ”Kelly, has Nathalie returned to school?”
