The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 795: Chapter 795: Nathalie, Do You Have a Boyfriend?_1

During the meal, the private room was very quiet.

Mr. Yancey adhered to the practice of not speaking when eating or sleeping, and hardly said a word.

Amadeus Yancey didn’t talk much either, only occasionally picking out dishes for her that she liked but couldn’t reach herself.

Nathalie Quinlan herself was not a talkative person, she mostly focused on eating her meal, only occasionally lifting her head to answer seriously and politely when Candice Yancey or Edric talked to her.

The meal was enjoyed by both host and guest alike.

Mr. Yancey was the first to put down his chopsticks, he picked up his teacup, took a sip of tea, cleared his throat, and looked at the man and woman sitting opposite him, then glanced at the well-behaved little tyke sitting next to Nathalie Quinlan; the more he looked, the more they seemed like a family of three, and the harmonious scene was exactly like the one he had dreamed of.

He looked left and right, then turned his gaze back to Nathalie Quinlan.

The girl sat in a casual posture, eating her food with slightly lowered eyelids and chopsticks in hand, her pace of eating was not fast but very natural, without any of the affectation that girls might have. She seemed to particularly enjoy spicy dishes; Mr. Yancey noticed she picked up the spicy chicken several times, and she also appeared to enjoy the boiled fish that his unworthy descendant helped her to...

Spicy chicken, boiled fish... Mr. Yancey silently took note of these two dishes in his heart, and then watched Amadeus Yancey naturally ladle a bowl of Tremella Soup for the girl and place it beside her, while whispering in a low voice, ”After eating, have some sweet soup to quell the fire.

Nathalie Quinlan always had little patience for sweet things, and when she caught sight of the Tremella Soup placed at her side, she said nothing.

”Tsk,” Amadeus Yancey seemed to know what she was thinking, chuckled lightly, lazily leaned back in his chair, completely relaxed, and whispered again, ”Don’t worry, it’s not sweet, it has a very light flavor, you can just drink a little.”

”Mhm,” Nathalie Quinlan heard it wasn’t sweet, her furrowed brows slightly relaxed, but she had some aversion to sweet desserts like Tremella Soup, yet she didn’t refuse his kindness, ”Got it.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Edric passed his small bowl over, lifting his pretty, delicate face with an air of vying for favor, ”Sister, pumpkin soup, it’s not sweet.”

”...”

A bowl of Tremella Soup was placed to Nathalie’s left hand, and pumpkin soup to her right, her mouth twitching slightly, as both the young and the older one watched her.

The hand that held her chopsticks paused, and suddenly she felt unable to eat any more.

It had to be said, the Imperial Hotel’s chef’s skills were pretty good, and the spicy chicken was particularly well made. She hadn’t eaten her fill yet, but at this rate, it seemed they didn’t want her to continue eating.

Nathalie Quinlan frowned as she pondered whether or not to lay down her chopsticks, after all, drinking a bowl of Tremella Soup + a bowl of pumpkin soup, she reckoned she wouldn’t be able to eat much more, and rather than ending up too full to walk later, she might as well stop eating and save some room...

However, Mr. Yancey couldn’t sit still any longer; he put down his teacup slowly and asked in an ostentatiously casual manner, ”Nathalie, do you have a boyfriend?”

”Cough cough cough!” Candice Yancey, who was sipping soup next to him, choked on it at the question, and quickly turned her head, covering her mouth with a napkin, but still couldn’t help coughing repeatedly.

Once she finally got her cough under control, not minding her still ticklish throat, she quickly tried to smooth things over, ”My dad just tends to worry unnecessarily, Nathalie, don’t mind it...”

Although she too wanted to know if the family’s pesky boy had successfully wooed the girl, her dad was being really bold!!!

To ask such a question directly.

Fearing that Nathalie might overthink it, she added, ”That’s just how people his age are, gossip.”
