The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 794: Chapter 794: Coming to Treat Master Cadmus_1

He looked at Candice Yancey and Mr. Yancey without any intention of hiding.

He was succinct, ”She came to see Master Cadmus for treatment. Master Cadmus’s migraines have become significantly worse recently. He tried seeing Adelle Wafford and taking medicine, but it had no effect, so I thought to let him try Chinese Medicine.”

”So that’s what it was.” Candice Yancey, who had previously witnessed Nathalie Quinlan use acupuncture to save Mr. Wilmar at the Wilmar family gathering, was not surprised by this and even asked him, ”How is Master Cadmus now?”

Amadeus Yancey: ”Much better.”

”That’s good to hear.” Candice Yancey’s expression was one of complete calm, evidently finding the answer to be within her expectations.

Only Mr. Yancey and the butler, who stood in a corner, took a while to recover from the shock upon overhearing their conversation, looking from Candice Yancey to Amadeus Yancey and then at Nathalie Quinlan.

Especially Mr. Yancey: ”Nathalie knows Chinese Medicine?”

Upon hearing this, Candice Yancey turned her head slightly and smiled gently, chiding, ”Dad, didn’t I mention it to you before? Nathalie wants to study Chinese Medicine in college.”

Mr. Yancey: ”...” But she hasn’t even started college yet!

Of course, he knew that Nathalie Quinlan had applied for Qing University’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, and for this reason, he had specifically asked Jackson Wafford to check Nathalie’s grades; he learned of her exam results as soon as they were released.

He then looked at the girl who was sitting quietly with a cup of tea, her intimidating aura retracted, and his eyes revealed his surprise.

He knew that Nathalie was planning to pursue Chinese Medicine, but she hadn’t even taken the college entrance exams yet, nor had she started college or attended Qing University.

According to his son, not even Adelle Wafford could control Master Cadmus’s condition, but Nathalie managed to get it under control.

That is to say, Nathalie’s medical skills were no less than Adelle Wafford’s!

This...

Mr. Yancey was dizzy with confusion, struggling to wrap his mind around it.

After Candice Yancey chatted with Amadeus Yancey for a bit and spoke to Nathalie Quinlan, she had the waiter serve the dishes.

Various dishes started to arrive in quick succession until the whole table was filled.

Candice Yancey, dressed in a white blouse with a cape coat draped over her shoulders, looked dashing. As the table was set, she smiled at Nathalie Quinlan and said, ”Nathalie, since you weren’t here, I just ordered some dishes with Dad. Amadeus mentioned you like spicy chicken, so I had them prepare a portion for you. See if there’s anything else you like, and don’t be shy to ask for more.”

Mr. Yancey slowly came out of his initial shock and coughed, pretending to be severe, ”Yes, don’t be polite, order whatever you like.”

Nathalie Quinlan leant back in her chair, and her previously tense back relaxed in the warm atmosphere, ”I’m fine with anything.”

The girl had been talking to her nonstop, first taking out a packet of cookies from her bag to offer her, then pulling out a piece of candy to place in her hand, adorably well-behaved.

Nathalie Quinlan accepted each one, showing remarkable patience, her mouth unconsciously curving into a smile. She put the candy and cookies Edric Yancey had given her safely aside, then lifted her gaze, her dark eyes looking at Candice Yancey.

”This is enough,” she said, then, worried she might have been too casual, added politely, ”Mrs. Yancey, Grandpa Yancey, these are enough for me.”

Looking around the table, except for a few mild Santhoma dishes and pigeon soup in front of Mr. Yancey, many dishes were fiery red, topped with a layer of chili oil, evidently all her favored spicy dishes.

Nathalie loved spicy food, almost to the point of not enjoying a meal without it, but she wasn’t picky; she could eat almost anything.

Before coming, she had prepared herself to join Mr. Yancey and Candice for some mild fare, but to her surprise, they had ordered a whole table of spicy dishes for her.
