The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 770: Chapter 770: Phoebe Hoffman is expelled from The Ninth Institute_1

Uncle never said that no one in China recognizes Lizard’s Tail.

”This time it’s all thanks to Ms. Quinlan’s help; otherwise, the mess you created would be unresolvable.”

Wallace Radcliff spoke slowly, clenching his fists and looking at her with repressed tolerance, his tone far from courteous, ”Phoebe Hoffman. I don’t know why you did this, but have you considered that autonomous driving technology isn’t just your personal achievement? It’s the result of the entire tech department’s days and nights of research, and the hard work of your team members.”

Nobody in the second group spoke up for Phoebe Hoffman because what Wallace Radcliff said was also what they wanted to express.

Phoebe Hoffman had really crossed the line this time.

”You secretly planted a Trojan in the USB flash drive. If it weren’t for Ms. Quinlan’s help, the entire Ninth Institute would have been disgraced along with you!”

Phoebe Hoffman’s fingertips trembled nonstop, her face pale, and she still tried to argue, ”What nonsense are you spouting? When did I ever plant a Trojan in the USB flash drive? Are you saying all of this was my doing? On what basis can you make such a claim?”

She looked as if she had suffered a great grievance, her proud eyes shining with tears, ”I know you’re close with Nathalie Quinlan, but you can’t slander me...”

At this point, her first reaction was still to argue. Wallace Radcliff shook his head in disappointment, ”...We’ve all seen the surveillance footage.”

We’ve all seen the surveillance!

That one sentence shattered all of Phoebe Hoffman’s slim hopes.

She suddenly widened her eyes, clutching the palm of her hand, and quickly looked around at the others.

She noticed that everyone in the second group avoided her gaze.

How is this possible...

She had deliberately tampered with the surveillance data.

At this moment, Brian Bonette walked over to her, gently patted her shoulder, and whispered, ”Everyone knows that your uncle, Lincoln Hoffman, has a special relationship with Red Alliance; he almost joined them once. That Lizard’s Tail comes from Red Alliance.”

He left the rest unsaid.

Phoebe Hoffman opened her mouth, her gaze turning dull, and still unable to let go, she tried to argue, ”...I didn’t know.”

”Xavier Rabenstein, bring up the surveillance footage for her to see.” Brian Bonette was always one to make sure people understood their situation when they were finished, fair in his dealings; he let go of her shoulder and instructed someone else.

”Yes, Mr. Bonette.”

They had just watched the surveillance footage, and Xavier Rabenstein hadn’t turned off the video; now, with a few clicks of the mouse, he directly opened the video.

The video clearly showed Phoebe Hoffman’s face.

How she stole the USB flash drive from Wallace Radcliff’s drawer and planted the Trojan in it...

In the face of indisputable evidence, Phoebe Hoffman’s mind went blank; her back was already wet with cold sweat, and she sat down on the floor, her face ghastly pale.

Only one thought occupied her mind—It’s over.

Brian Bonette watched her slumped on the floor, stepped over her, and asked Amadeus Yancey, ”How do you plan to handle Phoebe Hoffman’s case? Demote her?”

Demotion in the Ninth Institute is considered an extremely severe punishment!

All the color drained clean from Phoebe Hoffman’s face; reluctant but daring not to speak up.

To everyone’s surprise, the man who had remained silent, his eyes emanating a sharp intensity, glanced at her casually and said indifferently, ”No need for such trouble, simply expel her.”

”...” Phoebe Hoffman never expected Amadeus Yancey to say such a thing; her face turned ashen, her shoulders shook violently, and she nearly blacked out.

The Ninth Institute is the top organization in China. Being expelled by the Ninth Institute means getting expelled from the entire research community, and she would never be able to climb high again in her life.

In Beijing, the Hoffman Family and she would also become a laughingstock.

Brian Bonette was not expecting such a harsh punishment for Phoebe Hoffman, and in his moment of shock, he instinctively said, ”Isn’t this punishment a bit too severe?”

”She should have considered the consequences before committing such an act,” Amadeus Yancey said succinctly, ”I will announce Phoebe Hoffman’s expulsion publicly; there’s no need for further negotiating.”

That one sentence blocked whatever Brian Bonette was going to say next.
