The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 779: Chapter 779: Still Want to Deliberately Make Things Difficult_1

McKinney City Hospital Emergency Department.

Audrick Zachmann’s agent hurried to the hospital, his car not even finding a place to park, stopped directly at the side of the road, and even though a ticket was slapped onto his windshield by the traffic police, he didn’t have the mood to care.

He wished he had four legs so he could move faster on his way.

Once he arrived outside the emergency room.

He immediately spotted the representative from the other company and quickly walked over to them, greeting a few people.

”Ms. Catterton, you’re all here.”

Wayne Baker’s assistant was negotiating with the company representative on how to use this incident’s heat to trample over Audrick Zachmann and boost their own artist.

They were in mid-discussion when they turned to see him approaching; the group glanced at each other and tacitly stopped talking about the online bundling hype strategy.

Audrick Zachmann’s agent saw their subtle moves after he arrived but was too anxious to care, even though he knew they might be discussing how to set them up. He could only pretend not to notice and walked over with a slight smile, asking, ”How is Wayne Baker?”

”Heh, just like that, with the beating he got, his nasal bone is definitely broken.”

Wayne Baker’s company boss is a woman in her early forties, surnamed Catterton, said to have some background in Beijing, and no small presence; at the moment, her hair was meticulously tied at the back of her head, her looks nothing special.

She wore a professional suit that suited her quite well, with a spirited appearance, but her attitude was a bit harsh. Hearing his question, she narrowed her eyes slightly, tilting her chin up, not very politely, ”As for other injuries on his body, the artist is still being examined, we don’t know the specifics. The doctor recommends a brain CT scan and later an ECG test...”

”...” The agent knew she was deliberately making things difficult—what ECG, brain CT, it was surely an exaggeration.

Audrick Zachmann had hit Wayne Baker, but they were quickly separated by the staff present; at most, Baker had suffered a few blows to the face and possibly some soft tissue contusion, nothing that required a scan. With so many reporters waiting outside, Angela Catterton’s insistence on bringing Wayne Baker to the City Hospital for an examination was clearly an attempt to pin the blame on Audrick Zachmann...

He knew in his heart that although Audrick Zachmann was at fault for hitting someone and doing so in front of so many witnesses, leaving Baker looking like a battered pig, they did not hold the advantage in public opinion. To get out of this media debacle, he still had to start negotiating with the other party.

So after a moment of silence, he carefully phrased his words, adopting a very humble posture, ”Ms. Catterton, we’ll cover all the medical expenses for Wayne Baker this time. About that post on Twitter...”

Before he could finish, Angela Catterton raised her refined eyebrows, extremely arrogantly, ”Our artist was beaten up for no reason, and you haven’t given an explanation. You think you can just settle this by talking about reconciliation?”

”That’s not what I mean...”

Angela Catterton, ”I’ve seen the status Wayne Baker posted on Twitter. He didn’t say much. He’s the victim; he got beaten up and yet he was explaining things for Audrick Zachmann on Twitter. What more do you want?”

The agent wanted to snort in derision—explanation?

Was that post by Wayne Baker when they had asked Twitter to lower the heat helping Audrick Zachmann? Adding fuel to the fire more like!

And solidifying the image of an injured puppy in the fans’ hearts!

He was well aware that this was nothing more than routine tactics in the entertainment circle; they were playing dumb, and since he was the one asking for concessions, he couldn’t afford to tear away the facade and speak bluntly. He had to take a deep breath and swallow his anger, speaking in a good-natured tone as he negotiated, ”Ms. Catterton, as far as I am aware, Audrick Zachmann did not attack without cause. Wayne Baker also did something beforehand that was out of line...”
