The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 793: Chapter 793: Amadeus Publicly Displays Affection, Oblivious to Others_1

He called out to Nathalie Quinlan and only then seemed to notice the man beside her, his little flushed and excited expression changing immediately, as his mood took a nosedive, curling his lip unwillingly, ”Little Uncle.”

The difference in the way he treated them couldn’t have been more obvious!

Candice Yancey also noticed the people at the door, smiled, and hurriedly called out, ”Nathalie, Amadeus, you’re here. We’ve been waiting for you for a long time, come over and sit down.”

Amadeus Yancey walked in front, removing the scarf from around his neck, chuckling softly, ”There was a traffic jam on the way, which delayed us a bit.”

He casually draped his scarf over the back of the chair and pulled out a seat next to Edric Yancey, greeting Mr. Yancey with a proper pose, ”Grandpa.”

”Hmm,” Mr. Yancey glanced at him, responding indifferently.

His keen line of sight was mainly on Nathalie by his side.

The girl today wore a white chunky sweater with a lamb wool coat on top, still in her jeans, enveloping her legs, long and straight, giving her a fresh and clean appearance, looking exquisitely cute.

Standing next to his undutiful grandson, they actually seemed quite well-matched!

The more Mr. Yancey looked, the more he liked her, and though it was hard to take his eyes off her, he had to conceal his interest with a cough, feigning nonchalance, he asked, ”Is this Nathalie?”

Seeing his sitting so stiffly, Candice Yancey knew he was curious yet too embarrassed to initiate a greeting, covering her mouth with a laugh, ”Ah, this is the Nathalie I’ve told you about several times.”

She then turned to introduce to Nathalie Quinlan, ”Nathalie, this is my father, Amadeus’s grandpa.”

Nathalie Quinlan walked up next to Amadeus Yancey, her clear line of sight looking towards Mr. Yancey, her attitude polite and her words respectful, ”Hello, Grandpa Yancey.”

Mr. Yancey watched the girl’s drooping eyelashes, from this angle she seemed obedient and sensible, his originally stern face now struggling to keep his smile at bay, and he coughed softly again, ”Good girl, sit down, sit down.”

”Sit here.”

Amadeus Yancey had just pulled out a chair, offering the seat to her.

Nathalie didn’t stand on ceremony with him and sat down.

Amadeus Yancey then pulled out another chair beside her and sat down quite naturally, passing her a warm towel to wipe her hands.

”Wipe your hands before you eat.”

”Okay,” Nathalie took the towel from his hand, her eyes and brows lowered, looking very well-behaved, she wiped her hands and placed the used towel to the side.

Amadeus Yancey then poured a cup of fragrant tea in front of her, taking her empty cup to use for himself.

”The tea here is quite good, want to try?”

”...”

Nathalie Quinlan held the cup, watching the tea leaves float and sink, lifted it, and drank slowly before setting the cup back down.

Candice Yancey watched the interaction between the two, feeling overjoyed, and said cheerfully, ”Nathalie, when did you come to Beijing?”

Nathalie Quinlan had just set down her cup, and upon hearing the question, she lifted her head and answered politely, ”At the beginning of the month, I guess.”

”The beginning of the month?” Candice Yancey was a bit surprised and did the math, ”Then haven’t you been in Beijing for almost a month.”

Nathalie Quinlan had been in Beijing for a month, and he hadn’t even told her!

Candice Yancey looked reproachfully toward her nephew, fearing that Nathalie might notice something amiss, she silently diverted her gaze, feeling incredibly frustrated inside.

This cheeky kid, always bending his elbow outwards!

It’s not like they were wolves dressed as grandmas, she and Mr. Yancey surely wouldn’t gobble up his dear girl, would they?

Amadeus Yancey, sensing the reproach in Candice Yancey’s eyes, calmly set the tableware for the girl beside him before leisurely speaking, ”Nathalie came to Beijing on business, not for pleasure. If she came to visit, I would definitely have told you in advance.”
